I really like the sounds and I myself too like to create some sounds on my MicroK but... have it ever brought any profit to you? I'm just interested cuz I know that composers buy these to actually write music with them, sell music or liver perform...
@VIPKYD For me personally it has definitely payed off. But I guess it depends a lot on what kind of music youre making. A lot of dance oriented music, for instance, is really driven home by strange (live) tweaking. However, when your focus lies more on sample oriented styles such as hip hop, it can become a serious problem for your creative process if you dont watch out. Its easy to get lost in the world of sonic possibilities, and end up with something thats really not very usable.
Yes they can sound very similar. The evolver has a curtis filter chip like the prophet and it has two digital oscilators with the waveforms from the prophet vs. It also has two analog oscilators. Of course it doesnt sound exactly the same but as far as modern synths go this is the closest thing to the pro one and the vs.
I love lead sounds like the one at the end of this video, I don't wanna steal your idea's or anything, but how would someone go at making a sound like that?
DSI definitely makes some of the best sounding synths on the market right now. Not to mention they're quite cheap for (hybrid) analog synths with very deep modulation capabilities.

That last sound is a square wave with a touch of feedback. Add some delay and youre done.

Only 499 euro on Thomann now. So tempting. Very kick-ass synth.
