see to maintain a stable population you need 2,1 kids per woman. 2 to replace the parents and 0,1 for loses from illness, crime, war, accidents and so on.

1 kid per couple would reduce the population 50% within 2 generations :O then another 2 generations it would be down to 25%. another 2 would be 12,5% and so on ^^ that would be a reduction from 6 billions to 1 billion within 100 years
