  • Sorry, the animation is of TODAY'S eclipse, as seen from the Moon...:)

  • OK, I got confused...this is today's eclipse, but you added the video on November 6, 2007. So now I'll shut up and let you enjoy the video response. ;)

  • That's OK. With the Celestia program you can look at any eclipse you know the date for - back through history, to see what might have been seen where. I'm sure the program you mentioned is very good also.

  • Yes, Starry Night allegedly is the best out there (but then, would they claim anything else?) :) I can do the same, from any vantage point desired. One very cool animation I have on my channel shows a famous total solar eclipse seen right over Babylon, some time in the 2nd century B.C. The fact one can do this shows that the program corrects for historical changes in the earth's rotation (which solar eclipse records enable us to do). So does Celestia and other programs.

  • Hey, not bad at all! ***** Want to pop over to my channel and see the animation I made using Starry Night Explorer? It's too bad that the resolution is not nearly as good as on the original QT video made by that program, but you'll get the idea...
