  • How did you change it into colour?

  • @punji73 He actually does come back, he revisits earth after the 22nd century in one of the BBC book - I can't remember which one though.

  • @SpaceBoyProductions1 actually he came back in "The Five Doctors" altho the first doctor was portrayed by William Hurndall.

  • he never did come back though did he lol this must be the scene where he left his grand daughter behind in the 22nd century or what ever, in dalek invasion of earth. they orta make a new episode next season where the present day doctor does go back to catch up with his grand daughter and catch up with some daleks while hes at it too!

  • Very nice. I would like to see whole WH episodes colourised.

  • @sirtinycreep it takes months to colourise an entire scene, much less an entire episode. ur gonna have to wait like 60 years if sum1s gonna color all of them.

  • stunning

  • what programme do you use to capture each frame on photoshop

  • all by hand using photoshop? IMPRESSIVE!!! You have a great amount of patience. NICELY DONE!!!

  • Great job. It is hard to get the correct selecting each time for each frame

  • fantastic :D

  • Good colouring, but this isn't actually his goodbye speech...it's a popular misconception that it is. In fact, Hartnell didn't have a goodbye speech, he just collapsed, and even that footage is missing from the record. I guess this is a nice misconception though, these would have been great last words!!

  • @SuperRichi1A think you've misunderstood the clip here. You're right in that it's not his pre-regeneration speech, but it is his goodbye speech in that he was saying goodbye to his granddaughter Susan who was leaving the series at the end of The Dalek Invasion Of Earth.

  • @pufferfishish

Yeah, I know where it's from, and I suppose that's right. I was just making the point that it's A goodbye speech rather than THE goodbye speech. Still, the scene where those words were actually said remain the best 5 minutes in Who history for me, besides possibly David's goodbye trip. :)

  • :O HOLY BEJESUS MOTHER EFFIN WHAAAAAA that is one of my most favourite scenes from doctor who .... how is it in colour loll

  • really good tbh

  • Why is his hair purple?????

  • I am just kindly asking what brush do you use cos it is hard for me to get example the colour of the spheres in the next frame without some of the colour jumping if you know what I mean?

  • One Day I Shall Come back As Patrick Trouton

  • Does anyone know what happened to Susan after the Doctor left her there in the Dalek Invasion of Earth?

Wouldn't it be fantastic if she made an appearance in a future episode of the series? I personally would love to see it in a Matt Smith story, and the ages to be reversed, Matt being young and Susan, (regenerated of course) as an old woman. I think if they came up with a good story, that it would work really well.

  • She did come back. It was in a audio adventure called An Earthly Child. Its a eighth doctor story.

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan Susan (Carole Ann Ford) reappeared in The Five Doctors.

  • @tonedrunk Ummm... I already know that. I meant, does anyone know if she survived after the Dalek War?

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan In one of the Doctor Who Magazine comics The Doctor (10) says he never checked.

We assume he never did. Too afraid.

It was an interesting comic where he reflected on all his incarnations. Including one story where the 5th Doctor meets the Judoon. And the 8th Doctor in the time war.

  • @TheD0CT0RWH0fan I'd like to see a story featuring all the past Doctors who are still around, so we'd have Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy (has to include Sophie Aldred as Ace), arguably Paul McGann, Chris Ecclestone, David Tennant and of course Matt Smith.

  • When Did Patrick Trouton Die?

  • Patrick Troughton was born 25 March 1920 & passed away 28 March 1987.

  • "One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back, but not until after Senri Miyaoka and Akio Ohgoshi of Sony Corporation invent the Trinitron and the BBC decides to upgrade to proper colour cameras. This whole blue-haired business is for the birds."

  • Billy Hartnell's been given a blue rinse in his hair by the looks of it. I thought only old women had that :D

  • Wow, how was this done?

  • Coulor Did It

  • yes in the five doctors the irst dr is richard hurndal or somethinh like that

  • you got this from the dvds i think i have that 1 its called the 5 doctors all the drs meet up and face the master cybermen and the death zone

  • It's actually a piece of footage from the final Minutes of 1964's the Dalek Invasion of Earth , the only part not shown of the Doctor's Speech in this Clip is " Goodbye Susan , goodbye my Dear " , but you are right thou , the Clip was used at the Start of 1983's the Five Doctors , probably in memory of William who died a Decade before in 1975 during the Weeks when Genesis of the Daleks was broadcast .

  • When Did Patrick Trouton Die

  • 1987 . He attended a Doctor Who Convention in America with Jon Pertwee .

You can find out more about Patrick by typeing in his name on Google and clicking on Wikipedia .

  • Its origionally from The dalek Invasion of earth

  • ver y clever and cool, try and make an episode if you can in colour, ppllzz!!

  • Cyberrob, do you plan on finishing out the whole 20 seconds of Hartnell's farewell?

  • This is my favourite Doctor Who quote EVER!! Have you done the whole quote in colour? That would rock!!

  • My favourite part of his speech was 'go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine' - can't explain why but even as a kid I found it moving.

  • It's brilliant because it implies an unerring faith that The Doctor has in Susan. That by being true to her own self, she will always make him proud. But it's condensed into such a tight little piece of prose - it's amazing writing, really!

  • how did u do that??? why cant the BBC do something like that? or r they too lazy??? LOL (i think we all know the answer!! eh?

  • Maybe the BBC want to keep all the black and white films and tapes they have black and white.

  • i've watched ur colourised clips over and over and just want to say well done they look brilliant!! i so wish the BBC would pay you to do all the Hartnell Troughtons FAB!! well done again....!

  • how did you make this?

  • well done, v gd

  • not bad

  • Comment removed

  • Not as cheap as your comment.

  • Can you paint out the dents in the roundels?

  • why were they dented anyway they look like hollow plastic

  • Good try - sometimes though, less is more. I think the roundel wall should be cream and white - no need for blue in there. All the same, well done for the hard work - 5*

  • Actually, wasn't the interior of the TARDIS a light green in those days?

  • I think the TARDIS was a light green because of the design considerations of shooting on 1960s video cameras under strong overhead lighting, however as the IINTENTION was for it to be whitish/cream, I think it's fair to colour it in whitish/cream. No matter, whoever spends the time colouring is entitled to make their own colour choices, I think :-)

  • I think they should do this to all the old episodes.

  • hmm. that's a lot better than Ted Turner's old colorization crap. I'da left Hatnell's hair a blank white, though

  • Well done. that looks great.

  • love the twitchy left thumb!

  • HI there what program did you use to colorise I just have adobe after effects thanks

  • Frame by frame in photoshop

  • must have driven you mad!

  • No these people are already mad ^^ great job anyways! (well except the purple hair...)

  • Yeah, he's not Quentin Crisp...

  • wow, that is a great effort for one person. Though proffessional programs these days make colourising easier as they are able to track certain features, and are then hand corrected for any mistakes, which makes the process a LOT faster than it used to be.

  • It was a good attempt, do it over again, and do the entire speach, this is really skilled, I do beleieve the BBC would encorporate this into the 5 doctors, since they used this in black and white. Well done.

  • "One day I shall come back, yes I-SHAI-KUMBAH!"

Great colour effect, despite the purple hair this is spot on, well done!

  • The Doctor was a total punk.

  • Part of the purple rinse brigade

  • Yeah ...purple rinse like my old mum...

  • i like your new mum better

  • His mum regenerated? THE RANI!

  • they should put this clip in on the five doctors because they put a black and white one in

  • William Hartnell in color, awesome.

  • Great attempt, how many images was that, I am guessing about 50?

  • I'd say...24 frames per second, so almost one hundred!

This looks amazing! Better than my colourisations (which don't even move)!

  • No, not 24 frames per second, sixty!

  • Oh, wow! So 300 frames!

  • It can't be sixty. The telerecording of the episode from which this came from only runs at 25fps.

  • Actually I got mixed up. It's 50 interlaced frames that can be combined to make 25 progressive frames.

    Sorry. :(

  • I think it looks fantastic!

  • the walls dont look right blue

  • I love the accidental purple hair, maybe someone should do a punk version of this?

  • Anarchy in the TARDIS FTW!

  • is it very hard to do it

  • erm well it was one of the first things i did, i found it quite hard myself

  • did yuo do it frame by frame or did you use another methode and by the way, soft do you use

  • Frame by Frame in Photoshop and them put it together with the audio in movie maker

  • @joaorp thats what she said

  • Very nicely done there.

  • Why has he got purple hair?

  • i never coloured his hair left it black and white

  • Please give us more in color. I have this in B&W but would love to see more in color.

  • Brilliant please do more!
