he never did come back though did he lol this must be the scene where he left his grand daughter behind in the 22nd century or what ever, in dalek invasion of earth. they orta make a new episode next season where the present day doctor does go back to catch up with his grand daughter and catch up with some daleks while hes at it too!
@sirtinycreep it takes months to colourise an entire scene, much less an entire episode. ur gonna have to wait like 60 years if sum1s gonna color all of them.
Good colouring, but this isn't actually his goodbye speech...it's a popular misconception that it is. In fact, Hartnell didn't have a goodbye speech, he just collapsed, and even that footage is missing from the record. I guess this is a nice misconception though, these would have been great last words!!
@SuperRichi1A think you've misunderstood the clip here. You're right in that it's not his pre-regeneration speech, but it is his goodbye speech in that he was saying goodbye to his granddaughter Susan who was leaving the series at the end of The Dalek Invasion Of Earth.
Yeah, I know where it's from, and I suppose that's right. I was just making the point that it's A goodbye speech rather than THE goodbye speech. Still, the scene where those words were actually said remain the best 5 minutes in Who history for me, besides possibly David's goodbye trip. :)
I am just kindly asking what brush do you use cos it is hard for me to get example the colour of the spheres in the next frame without some of the colour jumping if you know what I mean?
Does anyone know what happened to Susan after the Doctor left her there in the Dalek Invasion of Earth?
Wouldn't it be fantastic if she made an appearance in a future episode of the series? I personally would love to see it in a Matt Smith story, and the ages to be reversed, Matt being young and Susan, (regenerated of course) as an old woman. I think if they came up with a good story, that it would work really well.
@TheD0CT0RWH0fan In one of the Doctor Who Magazine comics The Doctor (10) says he never checked.
We assume he never did. Too afraid.
It was an interesting comic where he reflected on all his incarnations. Including one story where the 5th Doctor meets the Judoon. And the 8th Doctor in the time war.
@TheD0CT0RWH0fan I'd like to see a story featuring all the past Doctors who are still around, so we'd have Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy (has to include Sophie Aldred as Ace), arguably Paul McGann, Chris Ecclestone, David Tennant and of course Matt Smith.
"One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back, but not until after Senri Miyaoka and Akio Ohgoshi of Sony Corporation invent the Trinitron and the BBC decides to upgrade to proper colour cameras. This whole blue-haired business is for the birds."
the point is , the five doctors isnt right without that clip being colour - its continuity error in somesort of way because doctor who permanently became colour in the jon pertwee era
It's actually a piece of footage from the final Minutes of 1964's the Dalek Invasion of Earth , the only part not shown of the Doctor's Speech in this Clip is " Goodbye Susan , goodbye my Dear " , but you are right thou , the Clip was used at the Start of 1983's the Five Doctors , probably in memory of William who died a Decade before in 1975 during the Weeks when Genesis of the Daleks was broadcast .
My favourite part of his speech was 'go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine' - can't explain why but even as a kid I found it moving.
It's brilliant because it implies an unerring faith that The Doctor has in Susan. That by being true to her own self, she will always make him proud. But it's condensed into such a tight little piece of prose - it's amazing writing, really!
i've watched ur colourised clips over and over and just want to say well done they look brilliant!! i so wish the BBC would pay you to do all the Hartnell Troughtons FAB!! well done again....!
Good try - sometimes though, less is more. I think the roundel wall should be cream and white - no need for blue in there. All the same, well done for the hard work - 5*
I think the TARDIS was a light green because of the design considerations of shooting on 1960s video cameras under strong overhead lighting, however as the IINTENTION was for it to be whitish/cream, I think it's fair to colour it in whitish/cream. No matter, whoever spends the time colouring is entitled to make their own colour choices, I think :-)
wow, that is a great effort for one person. Though proffessional programs these days make colourising easier as they are able to track certain features, and are then hand corrected for any mistakes, which makes the process a LOT faster than it used to be.
It was a good attempt, do it over again, and do the entire speach, this is really skilled, I do beleieve the BBC would encorporate this into the 5 doctors, since they used this in black and white. Well done.
How did you change it into colour?
