But in real life I am not saying it wont be able to do able. But you get a guy with a knife his goanna be crazy trying to go at you full power. In training of course is a lot easier
people fall down in martial arts videos just the same as they do in videos of religious mumbo-jumbo-gatherings during "healing". it's just as bad, and just as misleading and false.
Watch @ 1:53 - The most natural application of Russian Systema principles for self defense. Mikhail's left hand is ready for action. Also notice that it happened during a bout of laughter.
Nobody knowing how to attack with a knife would do it as shown in this video. Not that Ryabko wouldn't be able to handle a real attack, too, I guess. But yet. The attacks aren't realistic unless the attacker is a bloody amateur.
There is something special about Systema. Its true practitioners are truly warriors. I love how there are always laughs and and smiles during training; there is an overiding sense of passion and love for Systema. We are not here to prove how tough we are by acting because we know how capable Systema is and we just enjoy the chance to open our minds and learn something new about ourselves. We learn not only to build physical strength and ability but also to defeat fear and learn humility.
Thanks man, I cant help laughing every time I watch this. I really miss the guys and the great time we had at camp. The guys in out hut were awesome :-))

not so sure if a real attacker coming in at "I really want to kill you" kinda speed (and under adrenaline) that he would be able to do some of these tricks without being injured himself...
@TheLeonsimard Demonstrative purposes. Also Most techniques are learned slowly in repetition to develop muscle memory. So when someone does come at you quickly it becomes less of a thought and more of a reaction. Knife techniques like this are almost always dangerous no matter how you look at it.
@TheLeonsimard What the other guy said is 100% true but, I've also seen him deminstrate all these moves at full speed with a real blade. Mikhail is no joke. He's definitely the real deal. I've been taking Judo and Muai Tai for quite a few years and when I started Systema I developed a true spiritual sense for it. I have thus stopped all other martial arts training since starting Systema.

People always say that Ryabko is undefeatable ... I say, if I had a tank (and Ryabko didn't), I might have a chance ... slight one though ... :)
I always wonder if anybody has ever seen Mikhail pissed off ... I mean, somebody who lived to tell the tale.
