  • Ahhh... the smell of overpopulation and depleting resources in the morning..

How about a new sport called, stop killing the earth you FUCKS.

  • @TBird4490 I am almost certain that something radical will happen soon. If we won't make that choise, the Nature will make that decision for us.

  • please stop ruining the planet so that we can live in big isolated houses from which we drive long lonely hours on a freeway to a job we hate every day

  • This is how they fight overpopulation

  • Ahhhhhhh....the smell of progress! :)

  • That's dirty.

  • Which is dirtier, Beijing's air or Beijing's communist dictators?

  • @akirafactor your mother is dirtier than both

  • @akirafactor Commie dictators. You can bet your life THEY don't have to breathe that filth.

  • This is why I hate China. The smog hovering over every area of the country has taken away the beauty of the country and for me, has created an image of grey dullness.

  • I invite the chinese people to make a lot better smog next time !

  • The chinese people themselves are a form of pollution. Dirty little inferior chinks. I hate former president truman. If I was him I would have nuked china when I had the chance.

  • @WinterHaven fuck u

  • @chinagansta Now breath in the smog-breathe out. In...out..breathe deeply the smog.

  • @WinterHaven LOL!

  • ." She believed those description of blue sky exist only in fairy tale books." this makes me mad! wtf i love xbox but shit... what i would really love is that men and women, kids so on could see real water clouds, the sun, we take that for granted....they have food and water....but i think everyone in china needs a day when the sun comes out and shines and they can see the stars and the moon...

  • IT'S JUST FOG!!! JUST FOG!!!

  • I have been to Beijing twice this year. The pollution was much worse when I was there during April and May this year. I just got back last week from my second visit of the year, it was not too bad this time. A couple of the days I was there, visability was down to around 100m. But on the whole, it did seem that some of the issues have been addressed. BJ is growing all the time though and has a big industrial base, as well as countless new cars joining the roads each day. That won't help things.

  • i dont support the chinese because of the polution and the fucking rediculous human rights. did you know the chinese government are restricting everyone to one child, seriously, their fucking crazy

  • To cut down on pollution.

    People = Pollution

    Less People = Less Pollution

    Everything has a reason.

  • "did you know the chinese government are restricting everyone to one child, their fucking crazy"

Does your country suffers from overpopulation? China's population turned to 1.3 billion in 2005, if it wasn't for the one-child policy then the population would've reached 1.3 billion likely in 2001.

  • well at least it was raining during some events, so that they air cleared a little. and i think that a winner should be able to win even if the sky if cloudly, or air polluted

  • "This is what the Chinese Government is telling the world and they would not lie!"

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha! Would not lie?! You must be joking!!

  • Look everyone this is just Fog!!! This is what the Chinese Government is telling the world and they would not lie!

Sure it's 30+C degree's outside, and the middle of the day and it's been "foggy" every day for the last 5 years, but it's just fog okay!

And Blue Sky days mean just that.. above the coal smoke, the tyre fires and Nitrous Oxide smog cloud covering the city there is beautiful blue skys! Get a Boeing 747 to take you up to 30000 feet and you'll see what i'm talking about!

  • That is the bluest sky Beijing ever witnessed. I clearly remember one chinese student exclaiming during new student orientation last fall. Quote: "I love the clear, blue sky here in Boston." She believed those description of blue sky exist only in fairy tale books. Did anyone look at those nervous upward glance of those cyclist today on NBC? They fear more of the air than losing game. poor souls, my heart goes out for them as they were asked not to wear any protective mask during competing

  • Those blue skies are beautiful!

  • humanity... gotta keep that pesky economy thing rolling

  • blow china up thn no more pollution

  • and no more psp's,ps3's,xbox360's,computers,t-shirts,television sets,wii's,ds',shoes,pants,toys,

etc. No thanks I dont wanna lose that stuff.

Maybe thats why there is so much pollution.Because everything is MADE IN CHINA.

  • Imagine you train your whole childhood to make the Olympics and when it's your time and you made it, you have to compete in this toxic dump. The Olympic committee should all be fired when they picked this health hazard.

  • You're just jealous because you don't have beautiful, all-natural fog in your city. When I go outside and breathe deeply, the burning sensations in my lungs let me know how truly clean the air is. Beijing is a shining environmental example for the world!

  • i hope you are being sarcastic...

  • you blind fools open your eyes and see! its not fog its pollution fools... the govt in china is lying and our govt knows it

  • Obviously just fog, you can tell by the brown, almost-smoggy, sky-obscuring clouds. If they had pointed the camera at the sky, I'm sure they would have seen blue at some point. There's no pollution in Beijing!

  • ppppppppppppuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • this guy works for the govt dont listen to his lies ...

  • It's definately fog from either the mountains or 60 km east to the ocean!

The Australian tv media are so full of shit.

  • Looks like fog to me. Seems like the press are just China bashing.

  • that's just fog! if air is what it shown in the video, no one would survive

  • Chinese must really hate China... noone sane would make its country so dirty!!!

  • The problem is that if someone makes critique about government in China, he/she is taken away.

  • sigh!

  • well, i think i can make almost every photo taken any where in the world looks like these. i lived in Beijing for a few years and it is not this bad :) and what's the point of being so cynical? air pollution is a bad thing. Beijing is fighting hard for a clearer sky as so many other cities in the world do. Won't positive suggestion be more helpful?

  • I agree, Beijing has pollution like any other major city in the world but it is not as bad as the media says. I was there last summer and it was much better than this, just check my video. Beijing is working hard and developing a lot of world class innovative technologies to address the problem. If you don't take my word for it then just look up the National Geographic Greendex. Being cynical doesn't solve anything.

  • No Beijing does not have pollution "like any other major city in the world"! That's ridiculous except in the trivial sense that yes some pollution exists there and in other cities. But the level of pollutants varies a great deal across cities in the world. Toronto and Sydney are cleaner than Los Angeles, which in turn is cleaner than Mexico City or Seoul, each of which is cleaner in terms of air pollution than Beijing.

  • I kinda agree tho I haven't checked any scientific data. The Olympic makes Chinese proud, and more importantly let them hear opinions from people of very different culture/economical background. Criticism are always good b/c there are issues to be addressed. Eventually it will benefit the people in China. HOWEVER, the video is not reflecting the condition in Beijing. It is either distorted or very not representative. What is the point of such a news report? Misleading? Or produce more prejudice?

  • gotham city

  • My God! I'm brazilian and I think São Paulo's air is disgusting. But Beijing's air... much worse, we can see dark smog everywhere!

I like China's culture, but I hate the pollution this country causes. It's gonna be more than USA, in few years.

  • It's the coal power plants and heavy industry causing a large amount of the smog. You could take another million cars off the road and the air quality would still be unacceptable.

  • that is blue sky day? o_0 even now with 11 days to olympics, it's still so hazy

  • this is just ridiculous, I hope everyone watching the olympics can realize the impact a non-working government has on its' people. If the games weren't held there, the whole world wouldn't see the devastation a city can become. I hope this is a wakeup call to every american and citizen of their countries.

  • Are cars in China regulated with pollution control the same way as Europe and North America?

Like catalytic converters, pvc, egr, stuff like that?

  • 专找沙尘暴的天气拍的吧!这样的话北京人还不如住沙漠上呢!

  • 专找沙尘暴的天气拍的吧!
