biowares not making the same games like they used to back in the days with black isle, those games were just hm, unforgettable, the main theme, the storytelling the whole atmosphere of the game, it just pulled u in and never let go, i think the only RPG it did for me today is Mass Effect and Dragon Age 1, not the second one (DA2 is a good point why, they dont make good RPGs like back then) i know they trying but, its not the same, or may be im getting older :) i dunno, but it just feels differnt
@everx7 I blame having to please EA's own corporate overlords(the same breed of mental midgets that turned hollywood into the mess it is and damn neared killed the games industry back in 84) with doing what will sell to the lowest common denomitor of the gaming populous much like Origin and Westwood had to when EA acquired them(Ultima 8 and 9 anyone?)
I had never thought i can ever have Romance with a succubus until i play this game:) and it is a true romance, not lust....Fall-From-Grace said if we remember her name and moment, she will come looking for us no matter where we are;-)
@MegaKiller262 If there is one thing i've learn in my travel, it's that many things can change the nature of a man [...] Well, i'm sure everyone here knows this.
Search for this film on youtube: "VU #4 - Bitter End" go to 42:50, and listen to the background music closely!!! I found this totally by accident, and I was BLOWN AWAY!!!
And that's not the only piece of music used there!
(The composer is Mark Morgan for both. Actually, the film - Vengeance Unlimited - is the older.)
I believe there is a truth to the multiverse... even if that truth is that there is no truth at all. I believe that the Planes are meant to be experienced, and the more one experiences, in traveling, in joy, in pain, in merriment or in suffering, the more the multiverse reveals itself to you...
@soulshadowification Well, Black Isle is gone and if you look at Bioware's latest games... well seems as if they're losing their RPG-ness, and I blame EA.
@beamoflaser Probably right.....well what can you do but hope I guess. I just hope bioware doesn't make the same mistakes again as they did with Dragon Age 2. I know I know some people might think that this game was awesome but compared to Origins its a big let down. I blame EA aswell I hate EA so much they just seem to ruin alot for games.
@soulshadowification I honestly believe DA2 is a decent game. Repetitive as HELL to be sure, and not even half as good as DA:O. It's main problem was that, in terms of gameplay and feel, it wasn't a true sequel. It shared the same setting, but it didn't feel like the same setting at all until the second half of the game, which I maintain WAS awesome. Not as good as the first, still, but the first actually contends with PS:T as my favourite game ever.
@ScrabbitTheRabbit yes but thats the problem its decent but like average decent. Bioware has been known to go beyond decent. DA:O was more than decent it was AWESOME and thats what Bioware does it goes beyond decent and good there all almost in my opinion AWESOME. DA:O, Witcher 1&2 , Baulders Gate 1&2 I could go on forever bottom line all AWESOME, but DA:2.......eh. I mean I liked it but like I said before its decent or average. Again this is just my opinion. Good comment by the way I agree too.
@soulshadowification That's true, in the context of Bioware's back catalouge, "decent" isn't really good enough. On it's own merits, DA2 is enjoyable, it's just that Bioware normally does so much better.
@ScrabbitTheRabbit lol I just love the fact that were talking about DA2 and DA:O on a video about Fall-From-Grace's theme I mean what's the connection to this.LMFAO!
@Mizmaaa damn your right. I looked it up just now and your right. My bad I thought they did I mean it looks like would have, but you still see my point right?
@soulshadowification Sure! CD Projekt often said that Biowere productions, were something that they looked up to, plus the first Witcher was made using Biowere's Infinity engine, so there is a strong link between CD Projekt and Biowere.
No. Black Isle were wizards...Bioware are just the acolytes though with one great game BG2. Unfortunately with their corridor shooters and bromances, they forgot their roots.
Wow I'm actually excited to know there are others out there who played this game and loved it as much as I did. As a small aside, I read the book and it sort of followed the game, but not as much as I would have liked.
It was one of the most touching moments in the game - talking with all those girls, sharing problems. I always loved it. But the best thing was with this girl collecting stories, and telling them to her.
I've played it such a long time ago, but still remeber it a little...
Legend. True legend. I will never sell my old pc, because I want my child to play this game :)
@Mizmaaa As a matter of fact, i don't think you have to worry about your old computer. I have a pretty mordern (geek-turned) computer with a windows 7 (64x) and planescape is working very well.
@Yemetha Besides, this game is such a legend, that if there would be any problem with it on modern PCs, I'm sure that there would be fan-made patches up on the net in a week. :)
I only hope Bethseda never gets their filthy hands on this gem. Making a 3D shooter out of this would be even greater tragedy than what they are doing to Fallout 3. Even after all these years PST has the best graphic I have ever seen in a computer game, beautiful 2D art design and the most incredible story I have ever seen in any media! The music is also fantastic. Mainstream devs, take notes how to make games.
People who never played this game cannot truly imagine what they are missing. This is beautiful... The people who promote Fallout 3 should take a look at this miracle and think for a moment.....
truly magic, i play the level were she is for more hours than you can belive, i truly love planescape torment this game will be unmachted for years to come, ¿what other games are like torment? guess its unike
Wizardry is a hole in my gaming past I need to fill.I played it for a little time and it is great, however, nothing can compete with Planescape's rich story and the fact that you receive a paragraph of description whenever you initiate a dialog. God is in the details!
We are talking about computer games. Now that you mention it however, Planescape featured such a vast amount of dialogues that later on, a book was written on Torment. It was made using all the dialogues in the game, plus a bit of a filler. It was more than 200 pages if I'm not mistaken.
biowares not making the same games like they used to back in the days with black isle, those games were just hm, unforgettable, the main theme, the storytelling the whole atmosphere of the game, it just pulled u in and never let go, i think the only RPG it did for me today is Mass Effect and Dragon Age 1, not the second one (DA2 is a good point why, they dont make good RPGs like back then) i know they trying but, its not the same, or may be im getting older :) i dunno, but it just feels differnt
