  • It is not out of Tune if it was out of tune then it would have A Mouse like sound

  • is that a leslie 3 chime or a nathan of some sort?

  • @BUICK925: It's an out-of-tune Nathan M3.

  • @cchan006

    really?!!!?

    WOW!

    I LOVE IT!

  • M&ET 613 has been saved by PSRM, Campo, CA. Load out is scheduled for 7-11-2011. The unit is ex SP 5119 and is the last of the 70 tonners to run on SD&AE in San Diego. It will run again on the 20 miles of SD&AE that PSRM operates in the mountains east of San Diego but back dated to original SP appearance.

  • That's fascinating...a locomotive running along a city street and waiting in line with the autos for another train to pass. Makes me wonder, there are tracks criss-crossing the entire nation....how many places like this are there where a train waits at a red light for another to pass in front of it?

  • i found out they are selling the 70-tonners and all related parts so if anyone wants to buy one for a meer 90 grand they can contact the M&ET and purchace sone

  • What a great video!! My second Fave Locomotive type..SWEET love the

    horn!!!! Steve In Canada!

  • so thoes are Generel electric?

  • Yup, vintage General Electrics.

  • Are the 70 tonners done now on the MET?

  • M&ET use Gensets now, but last I heard, the 70 tonners are still around for reserve duty.

  • sweet!love those 70 tonners

  • great horn!

  • do these still retain their original CB FWL6T engines?

  • Not sure if they are the originals or got swapped, but from what I've been told, they are still the Cooper-Bessemers.

  • Most Excellent

  • what type of horn do the M&ET locos use?

  • Nathan M3 on their GE 70 tonners.

  • what type of bells do the M3 (the ones in the video) use? what nombers? (1, 2, 4a, etc)?

  • I'm not an expert, but Five Chime Consultants (you can Google the web site) say #1, #2, and #4. Compared to other M3's, the M&ET one sounds out of tune.

  • More than likely out of tune. M horns are supposed to be tuned every month in active service. Part of the reason why they are being pulled from locos

  • Very cool... I heard they're looking to dump the GEs if they get enough Gensets... Too bad.

  • Finally some M&ET on Youtube! Thanks!

  • Very unique rail lines, nice catches, great video work. Thanks!

  • Very nice video, I love the small General Electric engines. You can see the Spanish U10B in my videos.

  • Awesome Video!!

  • You got the best videos !! Keep them coming! Thanks!

  • nice video, 5+

  • Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Cool, are these still powered by Cooper-Bessemer engines? CN used to have these in Prince Edward Island

  • Yup, still powered by the Cooper-Bessemers.

  • Awesome railfan video 5***** sounds look like us Belgium-Cargo diesel locomotives class 7700/7800

  • Sweet a I hope you get a chance to film Central California Traction

  • Those would sure be fun to operate! Nice video!

  • Great video!!

  • So where do these things go and what do they do?

  • Union Pacific runs through Modesto, BNSF runs through Empire, which is about 5 miles east. M&ET runs between the two Class I's, interchange cars from both railroads, and serve industries in between.

  • Awesome Action!

  • Don't see too many of those any more! Nice M3, and nice street running shot.
