  • Man Jeff and I have been friends for a long time. i can remember our youngers days as drummers. Doing every lick out there. Now i sit back and watch as season musicians have laid back and crisp we are. It's been a while since seeing you bro, but you still got it!

  • GREATEST GOSPEL DRUM GODFATHER

  • i remember back in 1997 when jeff was giving me lessons and gerald heyward was there. i wish i had footage of that day! smh. they was going at it in every genre of music.

  • One of the greatest drummers in the world!!! I thank God for you Bro...It is an honor to call you friend and brother!

  • Yeah bro!!! sweet u killin

  • Whoops, wrong vid. I was looking for the Brian Jonestown Massacre guy...

  • Thumbs up if you heard about this guy from Teddy Cambell on the modern drummer DVD.

  • A TRUE ICON TO GOSPEL DRUMMING....NEXT TO JOEL SMITH....

  • to PRAISEDRUM:

No other drummer has sat on the throne since Jeff Davis. When Jeff Davis was doing his thing any church you went to would tell you that Jeff Davis is the best. No other church rummer since then achieved that status. Tony Roastya (aka Tony Royster) is great but he's not considered a church drummer.

  • This dude right here is a great inspirations to those who wish to play his pocket is so tight and fills are always good one of my favorites along with Gerald, Nat, and Jackie Clark thats who I listen to coming up Brooklyn finest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • to rock4brooklyn:

Jeff Davis was the perfect drummer. In churches people would always say "play like Jeff." Jeff knew how to keep the pocket and do nice rolls without going to crazy. Jeff would get busy but he wouldn't go overboard. He knew how to play with the band. Jeff Davis was the standard that you compared every other church drummer to.

  • Great video!! Anybody here know Stepahnie Cooke?

  • to xjerseyballer23x:

Ofcorse we know Stephanie Cooke. She got that hot song "I Thank You." Did Jeff Davis play on Stephanie Cooke's songs (If yes what songs)?

I'm from Illtown (East Orange, NJ). What part of Jersey you representing?

  • Mixed this brotha for a few years, he gives you so much to work with !! A God given amazing, gifted talent !! Love ya man .

  • YES!!!!!!! he does Jaeterri i started mixing him when i first started out doin audio he always bothered me but he would also help me gain knowledge in the audio field....

  • @JAETERRI im a big fan of Jeff Davis, he's a good friend of my mom stephanie cooke. Do u know her too?

  • @JAETERRI MY 1ST HERO REALLY THE BEST OF THE BEST IN GOSPEL DRUMMING & BEYOND

  • to PRAISEDRUM:

Yo it's cool to hear you say he's your hero. Jeff Davis was every church drummer's hero. He was the man in Gospel music. You couldn't do a Gospel album without Jeff Davis being on it. Jeff Davis was the first drummer to get shoutouts during songs. I remember when John P. Kee said his name during the song "Saved." Jeff Davis started doing a complicated roll and John P. Kee shouted his name.

  • damn he's so fucking good!

  • I'm loving the typa relaxed, just-jammin attitude man. he's doing some tight licks but barely moves....lool

  • man u good but ppl could u tell me where i could get this song

  • Jeff man you smooth when you play. Most people will get hype when they play but you just like man I'm gonna hit this tom and this snare...lol! Awesome and anointed job!!!

  • Awesome drummer very musical!

  • Man he drum so good make ya get a hard on ^^

  • awesome drumming!?

this is the same set, as the one nathniel townsley plays in the other video?!

is it a dvd, or can i buy this somewhere?

  • This solo along with Nat's was apart of a Christmas Telecast for Pilgrim Church..

  • and did anybody record it?

  • This cat is just chillin on the set!!!I thought Dennis Chambers was the most relaxed drummer until now.

  • jeff is the master. timimg, fills, licks. all without breaking a sweat.

  • i have been blessed to get lessons from this guy back in 1996 -1998 when i was in junior high school! U will be amazed the amount of people that got lessons from this dude.

  • ///////

  • this guy is smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth

  • I know right huh? LOL, he is smooth. I always come back to this video. He's actually one of my favorites. Do he ever break a sweat. I mean...imma' hush, nothing more to say LOL!!!

  • This man is so smooth. I've been watching this video so much, I was at church Wednesday on the drums, and I have picked up on him a little bit. He's just so smooth, and most folks (church drummers), well many of them, they like to move too much. He's just chillin' and sounding too fantabulous...Go Jeff~

  • I agree it you. Mos drummers must flow with music they're playing. I personally do move when the (to my beat) when the groove calls for it. But if the groove is nice and simple, so should you be.

  • been watchin him since I was I kid in the Sounds of Praise

  • So fresh and so clean clean!

  • His cymbals sound so fresh...

  • So smooth.

  • i'm amazed. i watched the video 3 times! what a nice time feel!

  • I'm friends with him.

We call him The human Metronome

and that was stanley brown on the Organ There the Greatest.

I grew up admiring these and still do

  • I'm friends with him.

    We call The human Metronome

  • i am friends with his drum tech

  • this man is amazing on the drums
