"Future"? A HOLODECK? (Which would be REALLY sweet!)
Why are you calling the recent time the golden age? Wouldn't it be a likely chance that computers will just get better in the future- depending on how society & civilization unfolds?
@CANVECVIDEO Oh but that room sized computer is defined as a PC? This vid is about the evolution of computers not pc's. Therefore the ipad, being a "tablet computer" would have made the perfect addition had you chosen to upgrade your vid. How do you not know this... you posted the video didn't you? Get your facts straight my friend, and update your vids.
@CANVECVIDEO I see you deleted my comment.. can't handle to be proved wrong i see lol... it's ok.. it's hard to prove me wrong.. i mean look at my name.
Colossus (world's first electronic, digital, programmable computer) and the genius Alan Turing (research the term "Turing Complete") have not been mentioned - why not?
@t0rnadoGaming "...really old computers do?" Simple calculations, actually. (add, subtract, multiply...) I always laugh when I see them, because they always remind me of the "advanced" computers shown on the original Star Trek. They were still as big as the trailer I live in, but they can do more calculations & talk!
I'm glad Roddenberry advanced computers in the Next Generation!
2015 computer has no tower or hardrive or motherboard, it doesnt have anything so how can it work? its only a projection, if there were something connected to the projecter with wire or wireless i would understand... unless in the picture the thing that looks like a joystick is the tower or the 'guts' of the computer
@37334397 The computer components are all integrated with the projector, think of the home computers of the 80's it was all integrated on the keybord!
Surprised you didn't mention the Xerox Alto one of the most important personal computer ever produced it was the first to be refered as a 'desktop' it featured a graphic user interface and mouse in 1973 before Apple purchased the tech to produce its copy, Lisa
@Nazoropazable They've had projector keyboards for 3 years it's true! ( on the labs) but 2015 is the projected date when it will hit the market! ( the consumers) it's good to keep in mind that what's been tested on the labs are some 10 to 15 years ahead of what's available on the market!
Very impressive. I like it. Man those big old machine use to run off Vacuum tubes. Supposedly, someone had a job solely of changing those things out. ha ha
@cloneboy2000 You maybe right as far as commercial computers but how about personal home computers for general use (not really agreeing with your facts just yet)?
@JOS3EMMANUEL Not my video and I think what your abbreviations are. So long as not spelled outright to offend parents and minors who vie this I guess it's ok if Youtube permits. You apparently disagree with video.
@JOS3EMMANUEL Well, i didn't want it to get boring, and this is computers timeline by the way not computers history! it's just a quick review of were the modern tecnologies we're using today came from!
@qwefwefgewrgnlsernvw Apple wasn't the first company to introduce the mouse, Xerox did introduce the mouse in 1981 with "Xerox 8010 Information System" but the price and usability were light years behind apple Lisa and afterwards Apple Macintosh, therefore apple it's known by many as the mouse pioneers!
@vrpcworld there might have been some computers featuring the mouse before the apple lisa, but as i stressed in the video apple is known as the mouse pioneers because for the first time a personal computer began to do something useful, the others before were prettty much toys!!!
@CANVECVIDEO As history will prove me right, it was the so called toys that actually launched and gave birth to the mass want and need for personal computers. The toys were later on taken much more seriously, I know I lived through that glorious but painful times. I'm not taking away the importance of the other factors involved but the toy computers were a major player to the general public as time went on influencing industry kicking and screaming.
@vrpcworld You're right history will prove you right, but remember even the toys were doing something useful back in the eighties, i can remember as i lived through those days too! they were excellent gaming devices, like we had never seen before! and from there things evolved until nowadays!
@CANVECVIDEO If you too went through the glorious days of the computers infancy then you can remember just how marginalized those who pursued these so called toys were at the time, not anymore.
@qwefwefgewrgnlsernvw Your correct about that but for the benefit of us all who have lost track of historical accuracy, what was the 1st computer to use a mouse?
if you think about it,we all have super computers of say the 80s,and most people use all that power only for entertainment.Seems like a bit of a waste of computing power.
@timis1993 Not mine, I wish it was. Follow its link to source. Just one viewpoint of historical data in regards to computer evolution, many others just as true.
