  • The way he steps...like an elephant... shows that he must work on the balance. That's the most important in tai chi - keep the balance in every position!

  • there is not a good coordination between hands and legs movements I suppose

  • The legwork is dangerous, either the knees sink in and thus damaging the ligaments/tendons (slowly but surely) or the front leg (like in pipa) is fully stretched, clearly inviting a kick to it to break it. Taijiquan is a martial art, not just nice movements

  • No, this isn't too good, but it isn't due to lack of emotion. Some of it was wrong; the first single whip is followed by a Raise Hands, not Shouhui Pipa. The footwork is not the simpleness I learnt, or as is in Fu Zhongwen's book. He needs to practise the form; several sessions of 30 rounds should ingrain it.

  • Hi, How long have you been training?

    Do you teach in Rio?

I've sent footage of my teacher Master Dong Bin of Shanghai China doing the Yang style form. He's a student of Dong Shi Zuo and Ye Huan Zi, who were students of Dong Ying Jie.

Master Dong will be teaching Taiji theory and Yang style push hands in Shanghai on Nov 18-26th 2006.

See our website: www.doubledragonalliance.com for more info.

Thanks again for your video and best of luck in your practice.

    Rose
