It's so freepin' weird that it seems like only yesterday I was going downstairs with what was left of my homework to watch the show while finishing up... it was like a weekly ritual, that was the 1st season. And now people who weren't born at the time are older than I was then. I missed all the other seasons because I was too busy during and after college and had no TV or cable then anyway. Finally finished watching the rest of the episodes 20 years later, thanks to syndication time travel.

i grew up watching star trek too and i would love to go to a convention some day. I feel like they didn't really live up to your question though. They could have really done something clever but instead they sort of just glazed over you. That's really a shame.

I still have my autographed picture of Marina I got at a convention in Atlantic City back in 1994. She was a real hottie up close. I also met James Doohan(Scottie) and Michael Dorn at that same convention. Good times.
