Also if you don't carry any trinkets to put in a geocache it's perfectly acceptable to just sign the log and not take anything. Indicate this with the initials TNLN (took nothing left nothing) and maybe a SL meaning "signed log".

very curious about one thing....

Everyone says to leave the treasure better than you found it.. Im confused on how your supposed to know or expect what the geocache is gonna be? do you just go with expectations that its gonna be a certain thing of value...

We carry a baggie filled with little trinkets like toys, beads, dominos, matchbox cars, etc, and always leave a few items if there is room. The idea is to improve the cache contents if you can, to keep the game fun. We carry extra baggies in various sizes to replace torn/missing bags, and you can print out replacement logs online if you find a log that's been damaged or is full. If we help keep the caches we find in good repair, the game goes on........:)  Happy caching!
