  • I've been to many of Albert's gigs and talked with him afterwards at several. His playing is really in another league. The band is not named after Gerry Hogan btw, although he and Gerry have played together for many years.

  • Just got back from a gig of his in Worthing!!! Great musicians!!!! I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of one of his CDs and was talking to him for a short while. Really great friendly guy.

  • @Django5198 Yes, Albert always has time for everyone, a modest genius.

  • Brilliant

  • Amazing!

  • I love the way that you showed all the band and the full use of the video camera was great over all this was one great piece of work thank you.

  • Absolutely ripping! With his guitar way up in the mix I almost don't miss the Telecaster. When is this from '93, '94?

  • It is from John Prine's "town and Country" TV program it was recorded in 1990 I think, at least that is what Gerry Hogan says, and I guess he would know.

  • country players are so under rated these days, people like kirk hammet are nothing compared to albert lee!

  • you are so right.. thats y now, i totally shifted my liking to the country sounds/music.... chicken picking thing....

  • Véio do diabo toca pra caralhooo!!! FUCKKK!!!

  • Fans of Albert Lee may like to check out: Luxury Liner Old Grey Whistle Test also Country Boy with Emmylou Harris Albert Lee Rodney Crowell

  • I like all musical genre's but country, but johnny cash and albert lee make me reconsider

  • Don't forget to check out Jerry Reed or Waylon jennings

  • simply------the BEST!!

  • AMAZING

  • NICE

  • I don't like country music at all, but I have to admit, Albert Lee's music is an entirely different breed of country; country music with musicianship. He's a total shredder!

  • Don't make the mistake of thinking Albert is just country, he plays with Eric Clapton and in Bill Wymans band as well as the Everly Brothers band and with Emmylou Harris,I've also seen him playing classical stuff.

  • @ThomGaetano

You should see him work a piano!

  • write "hernan gonzalez country boy" it's amazing!!

  • @elcaporale He's good, but it's not amazing. He's nowhere near as good as Albert Lee is. Albert is playing way faster, and way more technical.

  • Simply-----the BEST!!!

  • simply------the BEST!!

  • Consider the circumstances, they're playing live in a TV-show in front of an audience. I guess anyone who doesn't eat barb wire for breakfast would be just a little nervous...

When Albert announces the song, he sounds almost like "whoaa-whaddam-I-doin-here???" He's so f... humble you just must love the guy. And next he just blows everybody away with his guitar.

    Just like that.

    Yehaa!

  • Albert Lee is the best guitar player in the world!

For more music, he has started an Official Myspace for ALBERT LEE!!! xoxox

  • he fucked up the into bigtime

  • where?

  • Looks like you fucked up your own "into". You left the "r" out genius.

  • @anycolouryouwant He did? At what time/s exactly?

  • I saw him live last month and I wondered about his energy. This song is only great!I enjoyed his improvisations.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how sharp this guy stays on the fretboard. The delay boogie he does after the piano solo is especially fast. He plays fast dry; but to time the playing to a slap-back delay at that speed is MIND BOGGLING. It's no wonder that Eric Clapton, Steve Morse, Danny Gatton among many others all say Albert is the most talented guitar player in the world. I'd have to agree in my own humble opinion.

  • great post , met albert when he played up here in the highlands really sound guy

  • ERRRR A hhhHhhhhh DUH . BeCAUse maybe when someone is already established they realize they are quite larger than your goofy comments . focus on the video . i have been following this as well.

  • Most ripping guitar I've heard for a while. Er...why do you need to say you are "established already" on you-tube? Sounds like I missed a bitch fight. Is Albert using a delay in one section (3:50) after the piano solo? He's tasty.

  • He sometimes uses very light reverb, and I mean VERY light, for a lot of his playing. But, you're right, that's delay after the piano solo. I'm guessing it's set for single repeat (slap), maybe 4 plucks per delay length, and around 60% repeat strength. Albert's among my top picks of great picker musicians.

  • Super and sweet too!

  • Wow. I have been following this. I guess the name says it all. I met Albert and his father in '75 and went to hear a band with him and a friend of his in Greenwich, South London. He has been a great guitarist for several decades. There is no "best", just many who are good at what they do and do it with style.....then there are some who have to sell themselves.

I hope Albert keeps entertaining those who appreciate him for many years.

  • WOW another idiot. good job chewy , idiot.

  • THERE ARE MANY MANY HUGER THAN MYSELF but i AM known. who cares. i CAN PLAY your head off THAT IS BOTTOM LINE. not some speed licks arpeggios MOre like leslie west chris smith dave murray adrian smith jimi hendrix blue cheer RIP your face off style.

  • I'm sorry but those who tend to talk quite a bit may not have the talent they say they have so you just keep talking.....or prove you have the talent and shut us up. numbers mean nothing to us bud...proof's in the pudding.

  • SHOULD HAVE SAID

"not all those shredders suck. just like not all country or any kind of music sucks... more or less"

like im going to give you a close up of what i had to work through life to figure out how to do on my own. get real . i get ripped off for licks and technique too much already Thanks. No Hand outs here Chumpy.

  • txlongarm GET A CLUE DUMBASS Well its obvious you dont play at all any good at least . a REAL Guitar player can play some reggae/ blues / rock /metal/ bluegrass/ect.

thats a REALLLLL closed-minded veiw of music and musicians in general

  • any chance you could post a vid of you playing this..Thanx!!

  • .

this stlye which sounds ALOT FASTER THAN IT IS. Just like SWEEP-PICKING. there many techniques on the guitar hes ripping it but thats NO EXCUSE to try and rip on others styles ESP when youare COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR MIND WRONG. no all those shredders suck. just like not all country or any kind of music sucks... more or less.

  • Simply the best. The great thing about Albert is that along with the astonishing technique, everything he plays is very melodic and musical. No wanking just to show off, it's all appropriate for the song.

  • Outstanding guitar player!!

  • It is great to Albert out front for a change although he is not as good looking as Emmylou ;) Albert is the best, may not be as cool as Clapton but he is the man.

Thanks for the video, I have him playing this on CD but it is good to see the master at work.

  • I've seen Albert play this on several occasions - and never the same solos twice! I think this version is also probably the fastest... also seen him in Clapton's band (many years ago), as part of the Everley Brothers backing band, with Hogan's Heroes and most recently with Bill Wyman's Rhythm KIngs. Never puts a note wrong and always plays with taste.

  • man do i love that EBMM

too bad they dont make em in lefty!

  • I saw Albert Lee in Woolwich, London back in the late 1980s and he was absolutely amazing. Even if he does look like Barry Manilow in a dodgey wig!! LOL!

  • I'd like to see Yngwie Malmsteen play that. This is a thing called picking. Those "shredders" of rock couldn't touch this.

  • Thee is no other guitar picker who could play Country Boy like this. My hero!

  • You are truly a man of good taste, hughbourn.

  • Ricky did it and he did it faster than this. listen to the studio cut off the album of the same name. of course he used dang near everything albert lee cooked up on this song.

  • this comment wasn't made to knock albert. he is waaay beyond legendary. here's a new ratings scale for guitar players!

take the guitar back to the store you bought it from(very poor). set up as close to an exit as you can get(poor). play it in your bedroom or for other family members or close friends(average). keep practicin' kid...you've got talent (good). sweeeeet(very good). we need a guitar player (great). oh WOW (legend)

OMG it's ALBERT LEE (ALBERT LEE).
