I left the church, by God's direction, but was basically encouraged to leave by the current pastor. It was such a painful experience and I to this day am gun shy of churches. I wonder if the use of spittle and dirt to heal the blind man is like the use of metaphorical language found all over the New Testament? In the OT, man came from dirt formed by the hands of God and God breathed life into him, in the NT Jesus comes to give re-birth and forgiveness, could the spittle and dirt be a symbolic rebirth in faith of the man born blind?

"I figure if you make the laws you can break them." Sorta, buddy. The laws that the pharasiess were referring to weren't really in Leviticus, they were laws to help "enforce" the Leveticus sabath laws. For example, they had a law that it was illegal to carry a sewing needle in your pocket on the sabath. Now that's not in the Bible, but the idea was it would keep you from potentially breaking the law. I LOVE your videos! Keep up the good work!
i agree. Jesus was trying to make a point that helping people in need is also important.. u can still give a hand to those in need even on sabbath! I think the mud and specific instructions for washing it off deals with belief and obedience. What would have happened if the blind man had decided to wash off the mud in a manner different than instructed? Would he have missed the miracle and not received his sight?

I thought I would tell you that you have blessed me so much in my life growing up, because I was a hyper active kid and now, I am studying to be a Pastor.. (PS.. I must have watched your video from Broadway about a dozen times, I loved it.) anyway, I love John 9. It is amazing what Jesus did.
