  • Absolutely. Madonna discussed how she was inspired to explore Japanese geisha culture following her exposure to the novel Memoirs of a Geisha. In a funny little anecdote, when the video premiered, Madonna was talking about how the song & video represented her arch-journey through life and the things she's learned. My friend said, "Sorry but I don't get it--since when is Asian culture the foundation of Madonna's life story?" I giggled. :-)

  • I love the book! I read it in 1999 when it was popularized by, of all things, Madonna's video for Nothing Really Matters. :-)

  • Hey :)

I was searching for the song and i thought this was an interesting video title so i watched it haha!

I saw ur other video playing it, really good:)

First of all you like Tori Amos which is a major ++ !!:)

Second u're amazingly kind to create this video for people :) not many musicians share their talents with others:) did u get the song by ear?(sorry my english isnt that geat:P) and how old r u ?

    as a fellow musician i congratulate u :)

    greetings from greece:)

  • Thank you. I did learn Siren by ear and your comment is super nice. :-) I am 28 but sometimes am mistaken for younger. When I was in school and working too many hours, I did not have time to play piano but at the beginning of 2008, I got back into it.

  • Wow, thank you so much, you are amazingly helpful, thanks for taking the time!

  • You are welcome. :-)

  • Thank you! I really appreciate this. If it's helpful at all, I can tell you that the tutorial I have which is best for people at the very entry level is the China tutorial. It's a song that a lot of new pianists have told me was a nice transition into the instrument to get comfortable playing her. PS - I don't know if your screen name comes from it but I read Memoirs of a Geisha when I was 19 and I loved it! :-)

  • wow thank you so much you just taught me how to play siren!

  • You are welcome! :-)

  • You are a truly gifted individual. I've never seen piano playing like this. You basically taught me to play this song, so for that I thank you. If there were more people like you around the world would be a much nicer place to live in (and everyone would love Tori Amos).

  • Thank you sincerely for this comment. It was very touching. I am glad it was helpful to learning Siren. I do believe that everyone should love Tori; I think she's unparalleled in how much talent she brings to her music.

  • You are amazing. Thank you SO much for these videos. You are incredibly talented. I hope that Tori will get to see some of your videos one day because I know that she would love how you are playing these songs. :)

  • Thank you so much and sorry for the delayed response. I didn't see there was a new comment here till today. I would hope Tori would think nice thoughts about the songs I play. I think over 85% of all my videos is Tori! :-D

  • Yay! Here it is. Thanks so much my man!

  • YW!

  • thanks so much for these, you give me loads to do in free time! you rock. I dont know how u play it upright on these tutorials...its amazing

  • You are welcome! I will have more tutorials coming soon.

  • Thank you x infinity!!!! I love this song.

  • You are very welcome. :-)

  • OMG, first Scarlet's Walk and now Siren! Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorials!! Keep posting them. They are so helpful! :-)

  • You are welcome! I don't flood everyone with tutorials all at once but I'll try to keep a steady stream going. Tori takes a long time to learn how to play. :-)

  • *learning it*

    THANK YOU!! :)

  • You're welcome. :-) Good luck.

  • i've been away for awhile..and i'm so excited that you put this up!!!

  • Thank you... and welcome back! I finished up Scarlet's Walk two weeks ago; I remember you were a huge fan of SW. I will play an improved version of Gold Dust, and maybe Carbon or ASF but everything else is finished. :-) I did new videos for Strange, Sweet Sangria, Virginia (my fave), and Your Cloud. Mountain is here too. There can never be too much love for Scarlet's Walk. I'm glad you're back!! <3's -B

  • thanks for teaching the opening riff, I could not for the life of me figure it out, it goes too fast for me ;)

  • You're welcome. :-)
