So, even if he appeals his case, and gets 3 or 4 of those life sentences overturned, he is still in jail for the rest of his life. @realhooddan I feel what you're trying to say but when they say "X life sentence(s)" it means a certain amount of time (25 years per life sentence) before the parole board reviews the convict's case. For example, if you were to be sentenced to 1 life sentence, you would have to be in prison for 25 years before you would be eligible for the parole board to review your case, and have them then decide your future in prison.

@TheCalebCollage In certain situations, some sentences can be thrown out if they find that lawyers, police, judges, did not cross their t's and dot their i's. It's always good practice to have each charge carry a sentence.
For instance, if a man gets life x2 for a double murder, he won't walk free if they find that he only murdered one person and the other was killed by someone else.

@RazedByWolvs the point is because the 11 life sentences are consecutive, not concurrent, therefore he'll never get out of prison. In the UK a life sentence is 25 years so, with good behaviour, a person serving life will probably be released in less than 20. By giving him 11 life sentences means he will definitely die in prison. Giving a life sentence for anything this blatantly criminal/murderous is a mockery of our legal system. The juvenile thought that eleven life sentences will somehow recompense the evil this man has done is absurd—he'll never serve more than one. @ccraig1995 yes you are ignorant. Learn the legal system, its not hard. 11 life sentences, meaning, he was given a life sentence for each person he killed. So, even if he appeals his case, and gets 3 or 4 of those life sentences overturned, he is still in jail for the rest of his life. Meaning, for this guy to ever see the light of day again, he would have to get all 11 life sentences thrown out, which wont happen. Go to a library, read some books, it'll do you good

@realhooddan I feel what you're trying to say but when they say "X life sentence(s)" it means a certain amount of time (25 years per life sentence) before the parole board reviews the convict's case. For example, if you were to be sentenced to 1 life sentence, you would have to be in prison for 25 years before you would be eligible for the parole board to review your case, and have them then decide your future in prison.

I believe if he could turn back the clock he would, What he did was sick but in the mental state in which he was in at the time do we really know that his intentions were to murder all those people or was he just tuned in to his own selfish act of suicide and not thinking of the consequences of his actions. He did try to move the truck but couldn't, that tells me if he succeeded in moving the truck then this story would be completly different and so would his sentence.RIP to all his victims.

@TheCalebCollage In certain situations, some sentences can be thrown out if they find that lawyers, police, judges, did not cross their t's and dot their i's. It's always good practice to have each charge carry a sentence.
For instance, if a man gets life x2 for a double murder, he won't walk free if they find that he only murdered one person and the other was killed by someone else.

@RazedByWolvs the point is because the 11 life sentences are consecutive, not concurrent, therefore he'll never get out of prison. In the UK a life sentence is 25 years so, with good behaviour, a person serving life will probably be released in less than 20. By giving him 11 life sentences means he will definitely die in prison. Which is what he deserves.

@XxAneniaxX A UK life sentence isnt a set amount and can be as little as 15 years, usually though its in the mid 20s.
Often they will get out early as well because the prison system is laughably poorly managed and overcrowded to hell so they release as many people as possible to keep space for new convicts.

In Islam, murder is not lightly dealt with. Unlike Christianity, a last-resort repentance of the crime of taking the life of an innocent person is very unlikely to be accepted unless the murdered forgives the murderer on the Day of Judgment.

@Shi3i4lyf According to the christian doctrine if beleived absolutely to the letter yes, you would be absolutely free of all the crimes, IE if Hitler truley regretted his part in the holocaust, he would be free to spend eternity in heaven.
I must say though, your religion states that nonbeleivers must be forced to beleive Islam, and if they refuse to convert destroyed, regardless of thier innocence (or lack thereof) so murdering innocents isnt frowned upon neccasarily.
