Lets spell it out again, HydroCarbons are ready made stored energy that we dig up - like an inheritance or lottery win ready to splurge.
by contrast,
Hydrogen is just a way of storing energy from other sources e.g. wind, solar - which is like a slow steady income e.g. "welfare cheques" or the salary from a shit low paid job.
Hydrogen is just a way of storing energy FROM wind and Solar.
thats why its useless.
could use nuclear but that has the same problem as oil, its a finite source you dig up which will run out.
What i'm trying to tell you is, when the oil runs out, its "game over" for most humans, and hydrogen wont save you, because, as I originally posted, it is not an energy source.
hydrogen fuel cells are pushed as false hope by car companies who like to pretend they will have a future beyond the oil age, and in turn by politicians trying to appease car-addicted populations who can't face a car-free future.
Also, hydrogen cannot be used to produce petrochemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, medicines) or plastics.
google "matt savinar peak oil die off" , point 37 )
the fuel cell shown in the video was our first prototype. The commercial product one year later was sold at 15000 British Pounds which is certainly a lot of money for small power generator. The company closed in 2008 so no further development cannot take place to get the costs down.
.IMHO I beleive funding grants will be avaiable from govts.. cells like these shoul be marketable if cost of production drops..Too bad the company closed..The laggin ecomnomic activity should be opportunistic for tech,,,like these..
meaningless fluff. if your product is more than lies then just be direct and tell the specs. how about some real data instead of showing what power is used for. lights? wow.
You are on a sail boat. which means wind. Get a wind turbine. It's cheaper, doesn't run out of fuel, and reduces the need for a large generator.

Ok when and where can I get one !
woodmwood 5 months ago
@woodmwood unfortunetely the company closed down in 2009 and I am not quite up to date with regard to the competitors. Have you got a yacht?

3:03 "in the future everything will be powered independently.."
more like, in the future only a small elite will retain modern comforts, the rest of us will be reduced to C18th age technology (thats if we survive)

Surely a sailing boat can use wind power to generate electricity

hydrogen is not an energy source, fuel cells are greatly mis-understood and mis-represented.
they can't replace the role of hydrocarbons
walter0bz 1 year ago
@walter0bz they could via electrolysis, clearly very inefficient. thanks for taking the time to watch and comment
martinweinberger 1 year ago
@martinweinberger -
I'm sure they have good uses :) what gets me though is when people believe the fuel cell itself can solve the looming peak-oil energy crisis.
[we need to be building many nuclear power stations yesterday..]

@walter0bz incorrect dipshit

@walter0bz wind and solar wont even create a dent in our energy needs and if there is no sun or wind then what? stupid fuck

@walter0bz incorrect stupid fuck. bmw is already using it and supersonic jets are using hydrogen fuel.

- yes, stupid fuck, but WHERE DOES THE HYDROGEN ITSELF COME FROM,
Please learn to think holistically....

your in a yacht surrounded by water, and you still have to buy and burn hydrocarbons. It seem like your defeating the purpose.
