i dont really like the tutorial. it takes so long for him to explain the very important part of using the direct selection tool while also using the pen tool. he makes it seem harder than it is. many of these tutorials i am looking at making it so much harder.
I'm using CS4 and when I clicked on the Shape Tool, I didn't get the option to be able to dynamically change the colour of the shape like how you did. Please help
i found this vid very helpful. Pen tool qill no longer be unnecessary and useless. I suppose ill find it very helpful when drawing some manga pics or pics in general. take care, Matt.
you so brilliant... i'm from Philippines., you are nice teacher very clearly discussion..thank you very much please send me a video for beginner princesshon@ymail.com you are nice teacher
My problem is that when I press alt and click to remove the node as at 4.30 I still get a curved line as at 4.40. I am doing everything right. my settings are all correct. What could be the cause?
THANK YOPU for this awesome tutorial, this is the only video in 2 days that I found (other than your OTHER video) that actually HELPS! or TEACHES, great job, thank you!
So cool! Up until these two tutorials, the pen tool WAS a nightmare for me. Now, it seems like it should be a dream. Very excited to get reacquainted with this formerly mysterious tool. Seemingly, and possibly completely, stupid question: Having seen both tutorials now, I'm not sure exactly what it is that differentiates the path setting from the shape setting of the pen tool. Both seem to accomplish the same thing. Is the difference that the shape tool automatically fills?
hi my coment is on you're backround. How do you get that se thrue backround? Is it only possible with MAC or can a PC do it as wel? I have a PC with Vista 64bit. Grate tetourial, realy helpt me yesturday.
great tutorial , but illustrator pen tool its so much easier ,one question , how do i start a new path break from one path and start another?..totally confused about that..
Hi, thank you for the great tutorials. I have a little problem here with the pen tool, i just can't use the shape layers. When i click on the image, or anywhere in the screen, it goes automatically to the path sub-object. Do you know what it is?
Thank you SO much! That really is a great tool. :) It just occurred to me that you're spending a lot of effort on tutorials for us when you recreated the vector shape. I'd donate to thank you for your time if I could. XD <333
Awesome vid. Could you do a part 3 where you discuss how to extract that coin from the background in both pen tool selection and vector. Kudos, you're a good instructor.
i have photoshop elements and it has every tool excep the pen tool. can anyone tell me if there is a way for me to download the pen tool or something!? im dying to have it!
is there another tutorial that shows once you have selected your selection with the pen tool, how to take the inside or inverse (outside) of that selection and put it on another backround?
when i select the option in a PC ''make a selection'' then ''Feather Radius 3 pixels'' and by pressing ''OK'' the whole screen will be selected and collard in black by pressing ''alt + delete'' how can i fix that?
Thankyou for doing this Tut' I usually get really stuck with the pen tool, and it's dificult if you've never really used it before, so thankyou very, very much!!
It seems there's some important info, e.g. the pen tool can't do shapes more than 90 degrees and using the alt key which seem significant, so it seems these could have been brought up in part 1. I understand breaking up the tutorial into shapes / vectors, but it seems maybe there's a better way to split up the information and give important info sooner. Otherwise, very easy to follow along - quick and easy.
I've made a video response of me making a T-Shirt design using the pen tool if anyone wants to see what can be done with it!
Nicely explained by the way and well covered. I think it might be interesting to show them the add and delete anchor tool plus that other cursor like tool that for 7 years ive never remembered the name!
Howard. Is there a way to bring the open theme down about 7db? Is seems much louder than your tutorials. I always have to turn up the speakers for your vids, and the music ends up a little too loud. Just a thought. Thanks for all the tips.
Thankyou for the video, very clear and helpful ;)
