I like all the gundam series and I don't realy have favorites because I think they all have there strong points and I just like switching betwean series like finishing one, watching another and then rewatching another. Wing is pretty serious, I like the charecters in seed, 00 is cool but after all the gn particle stuff it gets wierd. 0083 and 8th ms team are cool because they dont focus on masiveb overpowered gundams. So they are all good.
I got it for my birthday last Friday and I think it's awsome. I am a seed fan so that could be part of it. I dont mind the melee combat and the lockon is't half as bad as some make it out to be. The only thing that sort of bugs me is a bit of the voice acting and charecter devolopment. Not quite acurate to the show but other then that my freands and I love it.
If you only keep pressing the Triangle it's boring as hell, and they have facts from the series, for example, Strike, Duel, Buster, Blitz, Aegis, etc has PS armor, making them not lose HP when getting machine gun's hits, but yes the energy, Freedom, Justice, et al, are Nuclear-powered, and the energy bar regains with time. Calamity, Raider and forbidden got Trans-Phase armor
I bought it when it was on stores, it is good, the melee's just easy if your fighting shits and have damn loads of hp boosts, try taking care, using thrusters to avoid the hits, and when shooting do not use lock-on, it makes it funnier, use both right and left analog stick for that, plus it was pretty well done, thought it would have been cooler if they would let you change the MS on the second part of the Phase, for example in "Flashing Blades" using Sword on first part, and Aile on 2nd.

I have this game and its not that bad. In fact its actually playable, but sometimes during melee scenes you might not feel in control of the gundam. I liked this game and if your a gundam seed fan you will more than likely like it too.

Some people complain about controls but they are just newbs, controls are well done so is the camera. ONLY prob is melee which doesnt seem realistic at all.
