  • What a fantastic horse... goes in with the big guys and whips their butts!!

    Superb stuff...

  • I still believe that is Calvin would have ridden Mine that Bird that day he would have won :(

  • @RHeatLightning I hate that kind of mindless logic...Everyone know Mine That Bird was no fluke...But don't say he would have won if he rode the rail...Rachel flew to the front in a field of 13 and said catch me if you can...And nobody could...I admire front end horses alot more..Usally closers

past a bunch of dead horses

  • @PlaYah1979 But at the point in the race when Mine that Bird passed everyone, he was dead too...he was running just as hard as they were...so i admire him for putting in that extra at the end and leaving it all on the track. That is more admirable than taking the lead and just keeping it. Anyone can keep the lead, its another to overtake it from the back and win by a long shot when everyone believed you couldnt.

  • @AllyKat1236 The faster the fractions on the front end, the easier it is for a horse to close into the pace at the end. And Rachel ran some swift fractions which helped Mine that Bird and Musket Man close so well.

  • If Mine That Bird had gotten the rail trip again he would've had her. What an amazing late charge yet again from the little work horse. He certainly was no Derby fluke.

  • In one way she just reminds me of Eight Belles... Just like the Kentucky Derby... Eight Belles won against 18 colts! But even though this was kinda different she still reminds me of Eight Belles in a way...

  • if her ownwe let her race in the kentucky derby she could be a 3ple crown winner

  • @librascale28 Actually i believe they didnt want to run her because she was not good at long distances.

  • what a fluke, if boreal stayed with bird, he would have taken two jewels of the crwon, shame.

  • She is expecting a colt in February.

  • Can anyone tell me why she didn't run the Kentucky Derby? I'm pretty sure she would have won. I know a filly hasn't won since '88, but she led this entire race and looked great - anyone know the reason why she did not run it?

  • @2taggs2 Her owners at the time did not believe in ever racing fillies against colts. They didn't realize that they had probably the greatest 3-year-old filly of all time. She was bought almost immediately after the Kentucky Oaks, and her new owners had sense and actually raced her where she belonged: kicking ass and proving that fillies CAN beat the boys.

  • @2taggs2 her owners ran her in the oaks, they were afraid of the derby, but she would have lost, the field was tremendous, and Bird was unbeatable that day.

  • It's like GUYS have more faith in everything female. It comes down to the individual.Don't doubt females so much cause really gals are tired of it..

  • I love watching this race time and time again for many reasons....the superlative run by RA (her biggest career win)....MTB (his monster move from dead last to close 2nd)....Musket Man (3rd)...Big Drama (kept the entire field close to RA and finished 5th)...the thrilling finish of the race...the close-up camera on the backstretch...the roar of the crowd...and the exciting race-call by Tom Durkin. "A thrill to see" over again. This is what the sport of horseracing is all about.

  • If a guy ever tells you that girls can run or win, tell`m to watch this.

  • Very impressive run, for sure! I was just hoping, praying, that MTB would win! I hate to say it but I LOVE that horse more than I love RA. :/

  • what a horse... really something very very special....can't wait to see her kids on the track, a covering by european champion sea the stars would surely produce something out of this world.. although fillies who have had such a tuff racing career don't always make the best broadmares... but in this case i think genes of that quality will always rise to the top..

  • I think Mine That Bird might have won if he had gotten on the rail, like in the derby.

  • 5 people don't think fillies should race colts.

  • @MUTenors14 The filies have been the best in the last four years.Rags amd RA have been so much better than many of the colts.Time for America to get rid of this rediculous gender bias because it's based on beliefs that anything female is going to be inferior.Guys get over it! The girls can WIN!

  • watching this race made my cry - i absolutely love Rachel Alexandra!!! I am so glad that she won. she totally worked for it. amazing.

  • also, this is the easyest race out of the 3 triple crown races... the KD has WAY to many horses which is dangerous and hard to get through the pack. the belmont is 1 1/2 miles which is very hard against Gr1 colts

  • i cant wait to see if RAs foal ever races Z's foal... if they do since i am on Z side i hope her foal wins but both horses are amazing an i assume their foals will be too. although this is the highest quality race ive heard that she ran in and won, this was not her best race, i usually see her win by 10-20 lengths, 1 legth is a just barely win.

  • @ZenyattaLuvr

Zenyatta hardly ever won by a margin, and then you expect Rachel to run her heart out each time to space herself from the pack? I'd like to see Zen run wire to wire on a track she didn't even like. Seriously. She would be falling all over herself on these sharp Pimlico turns. And Btw, I know this sounds a bit early, but I honestly think Zenyatta is in-fertile. When she was pregnant the Mosses were spilling every detail, now she isn't mums the word. So maybe shes like Genuine Risk

  • @queenluciaa I suspected the infertile thing too, but she's so amazing that I'm just glad she'll have a fantastic retirement no matter what.

  • @queenluciaa, the reason she doesnt win that much is she comes from the back while RA is in the front, if they ran the same way, Z would PROBABLY come close to RA's margins... and u never know, Z was bred again, u may be right but lets just let nature take its course before we start beatin on eachother about a mare's fertility rate okay?

  • @ZenyattaLuvr

Beating on each other? What the hell? Fertility isn't a contest, I was just telling the plain truth. Cigar was sterile, Genuine Risk was hard to get in foal. In fact, extremely hard. Zenyatta just maybe another unlucky one. Z was in fact a one dimensional horse. In the back of the pack only, so she could never handle Pimlico. Or Saratoga, or any other east coast dirt track for that matter. John Shirreffs had no problem shipping a non-undefeated colt Mr.Commons to the east.

  • @queenluciaa i didnt literaly mean beating on eachother... i just didnt know how to express what im thinking exacltly, srry bout my lack of vcab... geesh.

  • @queenluciaa oh n sharper turns accutaly help get the pack off ur back quickly

  • Rachels gonna be a momma. i can't wait to see what happens with that colt.

  • i love this filly! so excited to see her and curlin's foal!

  • Great call here by announcer Tom Durkin. Wonderful emotion in his voice, and a colourful use of language.

  • I LOVE Rachel Alexandra she's a beautiful filly! I wonder what it would be like if she raced againest Curlin, Rags To Riches, and Big Brown. I know she already raced againest Zenyatta!

  • @MichaelJs1luv96

i wonder how she would do against ruffian if she was still alive!

  • @MichaelJs1luv96 Haha um she never raced against zenyatta, if she did rachel would have won

  • YA u go girl show up those boys and make the racing world less sexist! lol

  • LA YEGUA Q LE GANO A CABALLOS Q CARRERA TAN MAS CHIDA

  • I'm team Rachel Alexandra all the way <3

  • Es increible.

Son dos autenticas e irrepetibles reinas:RACHEL ALEXANDRA Y ZENYATTA:

  • RA is a brilliant filly, but Zenyatta should have been Horse of the Year.

But I do love both mares. Both are spectacular.

  • I wish Calvin Borel hadn't of signed that exclusive contract to ride Rachel Alexandra. With him in all three races, I think Mine That Bird could've had a shot at the Triple Crown.

  • @orlandorays Hell No could Mine that bird have won the triple crown. He was a huge fluke. He won the derby because there was a very fast pace and he got a great ride. The only reason he was closing so good in this race is because RA set the pace, from the 12 hole going about 5 wide the entire race. I would like to see any colt do that and still win. I understand calvin is a good rider at churchill but anywhere else he is pretty average.

Calvin road mtb 3 more times btw. He was 3,6, and 9.

  • @clamb1915 I believe Mine that bird is one of the worst horses to win the derby in the last 20 years. After the derby he was 2nd in the preakness. 3rd in the belmont against no body, 3rd in the west virginia derby a race where he was basically racing allowance horses, then he was 6th in the goodwood, and 9th in the breeders cup classic. he has only won one race that had quality horses.

  • @clamb1915 You had better educate yourself on the contenders in the 2009 Triple Crown, because that "nobody" who won the Bemont went on the win the Eclipse Award for Best Male 3-Year-Old. The 2nd-place horse in the Belmont was Dunkirk, who was runner-up to Quality Road in the Grade I Florida Derby.

  • @creepycoyote I know that. But, summer bird was the best in a terrible crop. I believe the only good 3 yr. old male last year was Quality Road. Even this year is pretty bad too. Eskendereya was good and lookin at lucky is good as well. But, after that there is a huge drop off in the 3 yr old classic devision. Paddy o prado is ok but he is a grass horse. The last good crop of 3 yr olds was the 2007 class

  • @clamb1915 Inferring what? According to your thinking, every horse that Rachel Alexandra beat last year was the most inferior in 85 years (Preakness)? or 100 years (Woodward)? That makes no sense whatsoever. She has track and stakes records of prestigious races which span across generations of 'crops' even though she was eased off causing her to be just shy of most. By October, she had raced 12 races in 12 months. She is one of the greatest fillies of all time!

  • @clamb1915 oh yeah 07 was awesome!!

  • @clamb1915

People say that excuse every damn year. 09' crop was pretty awesome. Why? Rachel Alexandra.

  • @clamb1915

Excuse Rachel for being born in the wrong fucking year!

  • For those of you dissing MTB, perhaps you'd like to have another look at this race. MTB was in an impossible box, way back, and yet he exploded in the stretch, made up more ground that would seem possible and nearly nipped the filly at the end. If he'd had a better position, who knows...? In any case, of the male horses in the three Triple Crown races, MTB WAS THE BEST overall. (top three in all of them)

  • People say MtB hates synthetics, and yet if you listened at the Derby post parade, they said he had 4 wins, and all were on synthetic surfaces. His win was a complete fluke, he won no races as a 3yo before the derby, and he's won none since. If Borel hadn't been aboard him in the Derby, he woulda been lucky to finish in the top five.

They need to drop him in class, or ship him back to canada, where he seemed to like the tracks.

  • @Katt30 I AGREE MTB was a BIG FLASH IN THE PAN. Even if the top 3 year old colts (I want Revenge, Quality Road, Pamplemoose) were in this race MTB would have smoked by them.

MTB HAD ONE OF THOSE MOMENTS.

  • Katt30 His wins on Synthetics were against horrible competition. Sometimes class alone can get you by. Lure hated a turf course that had give to it but sometimes he won on it. Depends on the competition.

  • It's Official...Rachel was named Horse of the Year, winning over second-place Zenyatta by 31 votes. Congrats to RA and her team!

  • @Jemsters1 I LOVE Ray Ray but Zenyatta deserved it more she had more grade 1 wins :( I LOVE RAY RAY AND QUEEN Z and wish them both the best luck with their new foals!

  • MtB's win was a fluke, had it not been for Calvin Borels daring ride he would still be unknown,Borel saved ground on the backstretch n then flattened him out for the stretch drive, great ride by Calvin. But MtB hasnt won a race since the Derby!

  • I have to respond to Classylez's comment. Mine that Bird has shown he is a very capable horse on DIRT. The last two races over the carpet at Santa Anita he hated. His career before the Derby was primarily on synthetics which he despises, he has small hooves. The Derby, Preakness, Belmont -he fired in all three. The West Virgnia Derby was a disaster from the host track being too small and the pace. Again, on dirt the horse can run.

  • Agreed. Get Mine That Bird on a dirt track again and he'll show. Keep running him on synthetics, then he's going to keep flopping.

  • sorry i thumbs down by accident. i agree w/ u. the worst 3 races of his career came over the same track (santa anita). that has 2 say something. again sorry i meant 2 thumbs up.

  • What a race! That's the kind of run you love to see, two great horses going one-two in one of the greatest races in the world. Love Rachel, love MTB, and I'm proud of them both.

  • Come on people, stop arguing!

    Mine That Bird and Rachel Alexandra are BOTH great horses :}

  • MTB got the ass whipping of a life time, by a girl!!!

  • I love watching this race. I was there that day on the grandstand and so excited. I remember it all so vividly, the screaming fans, the anxiety, and I even found myself screaming for her at the end. I knew I'd seen greatness that day and none of us will likely see one like her again.

  • Oh you lucky bum!! LOLOL!! J/k!

  • yeah seeing by your page you have to be all macho too. But can u walk the walk?

  • Seriously wtf do you have against RA. Stop calling people posers/peeps, and wannabees. Almost every video/comment board of her you're always bashing her. Just stop.

  • mine that bird is the only horse to give Rachel a run this year

  • Mine That Bird's jockey was stupid to think he could do what Borel did at the Kentuckey Derby!

  • yur stupid too

  • PARDON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know horse racing but it looks cool. I have been fallowing racing only since last fall!

  • If the race was a few strides longer Mine That Bird would have won!

  • RACHEL RULES!!!! =DD

  • MTB is GOD!!! Borel is the Devil.

  • Watch the after gallop, how in the world mine that bird will get her at another 1/8,he drifted out so badly and got whipped all over it,it was the pace that give the illusion that he was gaining.

  • you people are blind..if the inside open up to MTB like the derby..rachel was toast...

  • if the inside open up to MTB like the derby....so you are saying that he won by the opening, closers depend on pace and traffic, besides i could put your argument the other way if Rachel goes in 24 and 47 for the first two 1/4 MTB was toast,if Rachel had a post position below 10 and etc..try to remember who many horses win on grade 1 level no matter the age at Pimlico wire to wire in a solid pace

  • nonsense..RA was better off at 13..she could have easily been bumped in the inside post..

  • hahahaha IF, IF, IF, IF ,IF.......Everyone was bragging about how MTB would have caught her at the wire and that he would show everyone in The Belmont. Hmmm, how did that workout? Guess the added distance didnt benefit him so much? lol

  • WOW look at Borel whack the hell out of RA...

and she is suppose to beat Zenyatta!? lol

  • RA chances of beating Zenyatta is slim and none!

  • Come on, Rachel was strugling with his jockey, didn,t like the track...we could see at the end even without Calvin saying it. And still won against the boy, and the first horse EVER to win with post #13. And look how EASY show beat the record in the mother goose...she's incredible

  • mother goose is overrated..two rabbits burning themselves.

  • According to an interview with Borel, when he used the whip, she actually struggled harder. He said she only started speeding up after she saw the other horse (MTB) gaining on her. I don't think the whip is the way to go with her.

  • btw, MTB got whipped a WHOLE lot more than RA!

  • TRUE and he was gaining on Rachel..another 1/8 and he would have smoked her..

  • Like he (MTB) did at Belmont?

  • exactly MTB lost 2 to 3 seconds at the top of the stretch..he had to check...

  • HAHAHAHA..wtf has that have anything to do with you posers bragging about all of rachels hand rides..hahahahaha

  • i think mind that bird would have won if calvin hadn't abandoned the little horse with the big heart. Rachel Alexandras legs are three times longer and he still almost won. his jockey started him sprinting to late

  • I would also like to see how MTB fares against the other super lady out west: Zenyatta. But I can't make many comments about her as compared to MTB seeing as Zenyatta has never raced against the boys, as Rachel Alexandra has.

  • Thanks for posting this, I missed it when it was live! Huge thanks!

  • does anybody know if RA has a larger than normal heart?(for those who don't understand what this means, there has been research done on horse genetics and have found that the larger than average thoroughbred heart gene is carried on the x chromosome. when a horse has a larger heart they can usually run better and have more stamina. This is the reason why Man O' War and Secretariat were such successful racehorses.Secretariat's heart was 22lb at his autopsy! the average thoroughbred heart is 9 lbs!

  • actually i didn't know that that is fascinating! I don't imagine anyone knows the size of Rachel's heart though seeing as there'd really only be one way to find out and thats after she's dead lol so I'm good not knowing.

  • lol true, but based on how she runs, if I had to guess she more than likely has a larger than average heart. I've heard of doctors doing special kinds of sonograms on horses to get an idea of how big their hearts are though. She'll be bred to curlin after her racing days are over. I bet they'll have super babies!

  • can someone produce a filly with some stamina. 1 or 2 wins does not a great horse make.

  • I love how she comes out of it looking spotless while all the colts leave covered in dirt... haha

  • omg that was amazing i wish i could do that but me i know how to do very few thing haha but ya cudos to you ... i think imma try to learn to do that [=

  • This is quite possibly the best race I've ever seen live!

  • Watch some great races on tape now, decent race watch the 88 BC Distaff, You want to see a closer watch 91 BC Juvenile, Watch the Preakness Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer. Watch the first BC classic, the 91 Juvenile Filles is a good race. Several of the last 10 years Belmonts like Victory Gallops nose win. There are many great races to watch and yes this was an exciting race but would have been more exciting if MTB would have seriously challenged her but he didn't ever "get to her" just her flank

  • I say Rachel is a possible candidate for Horse of the Year

  • Yep, she just has to beat Zenyatta and Einstein and it's a lock

  • I agree with Einstein, but not Zenyatta, I justdon't think she could hold a candle to Rachel, espescially since her BC run wasn't magnificiently impressive

  • Funny thing I read, Zenyatta's trainer John Sherrifs say's she doesn't even like Synthetics. I'd like to see them square off on dirt....

  • Wow I didn't hear that, but we already know Rachel can run on dirt, but what about Zenyatta? Or was her run at Belmont on dirt? Don't forget Cocoa Beach, shes the filly equivalent to Einstein, she can run on anything, and very underrated runner

  • Zenyatta has run once on dirt at Oaklawn park in the Apple Blossom beating champion older female Ginger Punch. Zenyatta has also beaten Cocoa Beach....and Cocoa hasn't won on all surfaces yet. She's not quite an Einstein.

  • Never happen!! RA handlers will probably pull her out of Belmont..They know she cant do it past 1 1/8...Zenyatta is the best female running today is not one the best ever regardless of gender. Einstein is very good but he is no Zenyatta....

  • yes this was a great video i really enjoyed watching this video it made me laugh and i really have to say it was very intertaining

  • Lots of Sour Grapes face it RA won fair and square and went out and set a honest fast pace and held off after 46 3/5 a pace that any closer could have ran at. MTB is no champion type horse. His Speed figures put him at medicore at best.105 Beyer in the Derby and she had 108 the day before. Mike Smith already saying he has "no interest" in riding MTB in the Belmont he is opting for a better choice in Madeo. Hey he knows what he is doing getting off the Bird ship before it sinks.

  • This is my first time watching a horse race. I think I'm hooked. I don't know who that guy was calling the race but he sure pumped it up. I'm a fan of that filly and Mind that Bird. I will start watching races from now on. Are the races always this exciting.

  • Like any othr sport you have some great moments, good moments and just okay moments, this was an exciting race to say the least, but they can happen anyday at any track

  • Welcome to the sport! Races can be very exciting! Tom Durkin is a great track announcer as is Vic Stauffer and others. If you want to see another exciting race, check out the video called" Tiznow 2001 BC Classic NBC ".

  • I second everything kyrose says

  • Well you picked a good one..the first filly in 85 years to win.

  • Breeders Cup day gets even more exciting!! Best against the best!!

  • yes, they are especially if you already following a horse or horses. Welcome to the sport!

  • You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Tom Durkin is the absolute Best caller in the game. Next time educate yourself so you won't make yourself look so ignorant about this subject.

  • tom durkin is a fag ;O)

  • I love Mine That Bird and his trainer , Woolley. That horse has a beautiful musculature, not so pump up.

    Hat off to Woolley.

Ride by Borel, Mine that Bird would have easily win the race. and the triple crown. Borel went for the money.

  • Woolley is a simpleton, got lucky with a cheap horse and won the Derby, his 15 minutes are almost over. He was so rude after the Derby, word around CD is he was drunk most of the time, lives in a Jack Daniels bottle

  • Comment removed

  • whatever he is his horse is going to win the belmont. mine that bird is going to beat her at the belmont. after seeing him run here is a better horse that i thought, a better ride and he would have won the preakness, he is not a fluke,he really has heart .your going to disagree but i just wanted to put this predication down .

  • dream on she draws away and will win by a dozen or more lengths and MTB will be all but forgotten. She will be overall Horse of the year as well. You watch. His pedigree and his 2 crooked legs will do him in before August gets here

  • your predicting she wins the belmont by 12 lengths or more ?

what is wrong with his pedigree by the way?

  • They said similiar things about Seabusciut!

  • and about Giacomo and what happened to him ? I can't wait until MTB faces older colts and they run him in to the ground. There are thousands of Gr 2 and Gr 3 horses out there that will put him up the track. If he had not won the Derby MTB would be a claimer again by year end.

  • MTB is that good, he just never got a good ride until the Derby and I'm confident in saying that was his only good ride. Seabiscuit was the same way in he was handled wrong so I can see why he's being compared but he hasn't done what Seabiscuit's done yet.....

  • at the end of the racing season we won't be comparing MTB to Seabuiscuit it will be more like Giacomo or Gato De Sol

  • Mine That Bird did more than Giacomo at this point, it's not fair to compare them, their different horses

  • also you keep talking about his beyer figure, well beyer himself thinks mine that bird is a great horse

  • Beyer is a terrible handicapper and he puts his foot in his mouth again, MTB may NEVER WIN another race after the KY Derby.

  • off course he will win another race. i am surprised after seeing him 1st, 2nd and 3rd you would say that. don't even comepare him with Giacamo , he has already done more,

he is a horse that will be in the money in almost all his races and as long as doesn't get hurt will make a lot of money.

  • the belmont shows he is a very very good horse though not a super once in a generation horse because if he was he would have made that move to first at the stretch and just keep lengthening his lead for the win. that is exactly what borel thought would happen but he really does only have one run in him that has to be timed perfectly. if it is he can beat anyone.

  • A real super horse doesn't have to be so precise, they might have a certain style like coming from behind but they find ways to win many ways. for example look at secratariat, he won some runs just like mine that bird from dead last until late but he also won from the front as well. how about dunkirk though as , he ran well yesterday he ran fast at the beginning and kept his pace the whole race , charitable man also will turn out to be a decent horse, will see about summer bird.

  • saying all this thoough like i said before mine that bird can beat anyone if he times his run properly .

If borel sat back in last just a little longer yesterday he would have won the belmont . he might have bought into the hype that you have to be in the top 3 at the stretch to win the belmont because that is what has happened basically there for the last 15 years, guess what summer bird was not in the top 3 at the stretch and he won .

  • take into account Mine that bird hit the board in all 3 races and 2 of them were really not very good rides at all. that tells you the horse is good. at the belmont he was run to early and given a long route around and still raced his ass off in a fast paced race . of course he will win again. i predict he wins again this year. you can see wooley is disappointed no exactly listen to his instructions about how to ride his horse .

  • I agree that MTB can definitely win another race and to boot he is an excellent horse. I was never very impressed with Giacomo, either, he is a horse that can win if and only the pace horses wear themselves out, as they did in the derby that year. I agree that MTB can win if his run is placed correctly, but I don't think he can beat any other horse. For one thing I am a huge fan of Rachel Alexandra and doubt that on their best days the two horses could even compare.

  • sure they did but MTB is & will never be a Seabusciut, MTB is simply not that good so he won the Derby his speed figure was only 105 that won't win most Gr2 events or even a lot of Gr 3 later in the year, & wait until he faces older horses & they run him in a 48 4/5 1/2 mile & he is 20 lengths back he will finish 15 lengths back, no he is not and never will be a great horse 2 years from now people will say like they do of Giacomo,"hey who is that longshot that won the Ky Derby a few years ago?"

  • he is better than you think but only time will tell, he ran a 105 on a slow track, he is faster than that. if he is ridden properly he is very fast. Aleysheba ran a 104 in 1986, he turned out to be a pretty good horse did he not

  • Comment removed

  • He didn't win anything he is done while she will be horse of the year

  • no argument from me on how good Rachel Alexandra is but your going to have to wait a few more months to make those comments about mine that bird. he has a few races left this year . I already said he is not a super horse because he is so particular about how he has to be run to win but i wish the jockey would just listen to wooley and make the run real late, instead they make an early run ,they get scared and don't trust the horse.

  • well he hasnt won since May so I was right

  • your right so far for sure, two more races to go for the year for him

  • what wooley says here is correct

Woolley attributes the losses to tactical errors.

"He ran a huge race in the Belmont," the trainer said. "He made just an early move. The two times he ran his race were in the Derby and the Preakness and both times he was back and made one move. The two races since then he started moving up early in the race. You can't let him start crawling up there. You take something out of the horse."

  • excuses, excuses. Woolley has hundreds of those

  • i agree with you because a real superhorse will win even when everything is not perfect. all i am saying is wooley knows his horse and the rider needs to listen

  • You wouldn't say that standing in front of me coward .

  • actually I would

  • I can be found at Legends gym Hollywood, your bluff is called

  • Buy me a plane ticket and I'll be there.

  • grow a pair of balls, buy you a plane ticket, LOL grow up, like I'm going to pay for your ticket so I can choke you out or break your arm, what a chump

  • mike smith is a good jockey but he waited a little to long to make his move. at the belmont you will see a race where mine that bird really presses rachel alexander but she not going to respond the way borel thinks, mine that bird has more heart that her, you watch

  • Nope he has one move he made it, he could have ran at her anytime and she would have turned him back. RA 1 MTB 0

  • she is going to be Horse of the year & MTB is headed for the glue factory ,,,lol

  • I was 100% correct here

  • If MTB goes on and wins the Belmont; Borel will be second guessed. Blamed and remembered for a selfish choice. If MTB goes on to be an exceptional colt ( ex: wins Belmont, Travers & Breeders Cup Classic) gets horse of the year. Rachel will only be a footnote, trivia answer in history. I think it was a Selfish choice.

  • borel might have cost himself the triple crown ,he is going to feel stupid when the best horse he has ever ridden loses at belmont

  • if she would've ran in the Derby, we would've seen our first triple crown winner since 1978 (Affirmed), but my first ever!! LOL!!

  • Calvin is correct in that Rachel was not 100 percent. The best way to read a horse's state of mind is to watch their ears. Rachel was not really paying 100 percent attention, as she passes the 1/4 mile she relaxes and starts flicking those ears back and forth, sometimes both ears forward. coming down the stretch Calvin had to get her attention a little bit. She wasn't blowed out by any means. This win was quite easy for her. Hard to say what will happen if she's challenged.
