this is such a wonderful song. i heard it on the radio this morning and nearly started crying because my dad lives across the country and has been super distance since i was 1 year old. i see him once a year and i barely know him. this song really speaks to me. thank you
I heard this song on the radio today and it made me cry because my dad is dying of terminal brain cancer and im only 17 and hes my best friend and not knowing when god is going to take him or if im going to have my dad to give me away at my wedding or see his grandkids so everyone that has their dad be thankful you never know when he could be gone or become terminally ill
My life is kinda like this but my dad doesn't travel and make mills every year he owns his own business and not making much money my parents got divorced when I was 6 and when I'm with my dad all he can think bout is my 2 older brothers....ones going to college this year =l........ its gonna be like a dad missing everything all over again :(
All of you complaining about your dads missing events.. i understand thats lame, and not cool, but be glad you got one, cxause i dont. i dont want sympathy and i dont want comments cause it made me who i am today, but that thought that haunts u of ur dad missing half your games... double that thought, he nvr saw one of mine, never saw my first score, never saw me take state in soccer, never saw in my first race... its rough guys, but be thankful you have a father still. :)
my dad lives across town but he puts other things infront of my brother and i. this is his song missed a lot. dad was never really there, parents divorced when i was 8...im 19 now :/
@VeronicaMarieee21 same story here.... but im 24 now and i also had 8 when they divorced. i live with him again... but not the same, like 2 strangers :/
Where was this song 15 years ago? My father was and still is a cross country truck driver and all growing up he missed so much. There were birthdays and Christmases, school plays and dance recitals that he could never be at. I'm 20 years old now and this song explains it all. I don't know maybe if my dad heard this song 15 years ago when he started working for this company something might have changed..
Made me cry, though... My folks were never there, supporting me, but they weren't away on business or anything either... I got strait 'A's, and the most I ever got was a toneless 'good job'. Missed half of the plays I was in as well, and, well... quite a bit. :(
Parents- Please, be there for your kids. It's one of the most important parts of being a parent, from the kid's point of view.
makes me cry everytime. my boy lives 500 miles away from me and i have missed so much of his life. but i make every moment i with him the best i can and hold it in my heart til the next time i see him
my dad misses ever hockey game and i really want him to be there i emaild this to him and the next game he was sitting in the front row and cheerd for is 13 year old daughter for the first time in 7 years
sometimes with the hrs that i put in at work i feel this way. i can relate to this song. what happens when work becomes your life and than finally you look back at all the things that you missed.

Anyone else think this sorta sounds like Moments by Emerson Drive.

I like this song but disagree, I would miss my life for my kids and go out for weeks at a time and miss my life every time for them

Glad to hear new music from Phil! I hope this song does really well for him. He's a great singer/songwriter.
