beutifullady, you have a great garden there, looks so nice, cheers for your efforts. it is really inspiring , i feel it would be more useful if u show a video of how to spread the landscape fabric and how u pin it and how u fill it will soil etc. it would be really educational if u show a video on how to make the soil beds.
@JuneGemini000 I have had a few requests on that. I mound the soil up using a shovel then i use a hoe or rock rake to level and pat down, I then do exactly as you said cover with landscape fabric and pin it down.
This is not my yard I just plant the garden. I live in zone 4. A Lemon, orange or papaya tree would not survive in this climate. I still have 3 feet of snow over the garden.
OMG they're great. very organize rows of plants. i wish i cud do the same. i just started few days ago, my squash sprouts appeared and will transplant to a bigger container.
thanks for your reply, beautifullady.i would like to ask also if you are putting fertilizer in your garden, and what? how did u plant ur carrots? did u put the seeds straight to ur garden bed or put it in a small pot first then replant it? ur garden looks fabulous!!! thanks
I use a 10-10-10 fertilizer and lime I till these in before I plant. I sow my carrots right in the garden no need to start in pots I dont think they would do well at transplanting time. Thanks Tammie
These numbers represent three different compounds: Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potash (Potassium), which we can also describe with the letters N-P-K. The three numbers listed on fertilizer labels correspond to the percentage of these materials found in the fertilizer.
I love how your shadow appears in this one. Very cool! :-) PLEASE keep these up so I can do my garden RIGHT next year. I did everything wrong this year. :(
Everything looks great! Keep us posted. My husband took a great vid of our garden, but I'm having a hard time uploading it. Oh well. We were having some trouble with groundhogs, but one of our dogs killed them. Yikes! I felt bad. Keep up the good work.
I can tell you certainly put a lot of efforts into your gardening. You have a lot of cold weather obstacles though. My tomatoes, peppers, beans, and cucumbers are further along than yours. Of course that's to be expected since I'm in N.C. and much warmer. Do you have any problems with Mexican Bean Beatles eating your beans? They're a HUGE problem here.
I kow What You mean We need Rain Bad ! Down Here Even Know I have Irrigation It would Still Be Nice To Have Some Real Rain Maybe A Noreaster of rain for a couple of days ! Take it Easy

I love your garden, I wish I had the space you do
maximus3532001 2 years ago
but outside the garden a fruit tree would be nice maybe a lemon or orange tree
have you tried papaya trees? they are easy to grow and they don't need much space...

why do u have to cover the soil with plastic? what is the purpose of these? thanks.
ahisyajacy 3 years ago
i live in maine the growing season is not that long the black landscape fabric helps warm the soil and it also blocks weeds i hate pulling weeds
