I've met Nicola in real life, and she's really warm and funny, and seems very down-to-earth. She started playing violin at four and had passed grade 8 at ten, so I'm really jealous I won't be as good as her. But who knows? With a butt-load of practice and giving up every other aspect of my life, I might just be able to do it.

if you go on to nicola's own website you can get the sheet music and i think some of the fingering is on it, if not it's not reallt difficult to work it! :)

Nicola's got to be my favorite violinist to record this piece. Her sweet, expressive tone and her rich, full vibrato makes someone believe that they're listening to an angel singing. She has such an ear for every piece of music she plays, particularly Meditation. Beautiful bow grip too!

I once listened to her playing Glazunov's Violin Concerto when she came to Vancouver. It was amazingly awesome. No wonder this performance does not disappoint me.

Okay, first off don't think she's spoiled. I've heard her tell her story firsthand and in person, and it's more than "I'm rich so I got into a good school." I even spoke to her very briefly one-on-one. When I went to get her autograph, she asked if I played an instrument. I told her violin, and she smiled even brighter and said that she was glad so many children are into music these days. Spoiled she is not. Next comment...

For your information, she won BBC YMOTY 2 years ago, she's exceptionally talented, and when you submit a video of yourself playing this piece as good as or better than this, THEN you can criticize it!
