@mattmansouth Palestine and Israel are two different cases in this situation. Palestine can't take part in the Eurovision, since it is not actually placed in Europe. Israel, however, participates in the Eurovision because it wasn't welcome in any "middle eastern" contest (of course), and was invited into Europe's 'Eurovision'. It's also assumable that Israel's culture and religion are more "European-like" than some of its neighboring countries, not a good or a bad thing, it is just a fact.

I've listened to all this year's eurovision songs and there's nothing that comes anywhere near this one. It's just fantastic! If it makes it through its semi-final (which is always a bit of a lottery) it'll finish in the top 5 in the final, despite all that stupid political voting-for-your-neighbour rubbish that goes on. If people actually voted for the songs rather than the country that happens to be next door, it'd walk away with the prize this year.

Very fine ladies, a heartfelt intention, however, musically speaking, the song is mediocre at best. I hope that some day Israel and Palestine will become one secular state with equal rights for all of their citizens. Nationalism has destroyed Palestinians, as well as Israeli Arabs and Jews. There is no way out except by renouncing all forms of nationalism and religious fanaticism. Israel, 12 pts from Bosnia for the message of the song.
