It's called fret buzz not dead frets. Probably caused by a bad bow in your neck so you need to adjust the truss rod. Unless you know what you're doing, go to a guitar store and get it setup for you. You really don't want to risk snapping your neck in two because you don't know what you're doing.

ok I can tell you dont play yourself. Or if you do you're a begginer with this "Gear orientated" attitude. OLP stands for Officially Liscenced Product, its made in the far east, its Musicmans version of the Squire. For the record Squire make great basses, check out the vintage modified series and older Squires nowdays can fetch up to £450 at auction, so you are talking out of your ass.

cept i do. i play a fender precision bass american made. squires suck dont care what you say. its a children's bass if you wanna play it fine but dont think it will last long or even sound good. my friend has a squire they buzz their heavy their necks are thick and the action is way high i don't see how their any good. unless you have a real low standard for instrument.

Oh, nice. I use a Traben bass with a Line 6 amp, and I have a Hartke Pre-amp. I use it when I play stuff like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I pop and slap a lot. Other than that I get a pretty nice tone out of my Line 6.
