I've been making something similar to these for years, if you use regular pie dough you can cook the preserves longer until it bubbles like candy in the tart, at that point the sugar will carmelize, they usually come out looking horrible but are very good to eat.
It's hard for me to remember what I've invented and what is from others' recipes. My opinion is that nothing is really original. It's all a composite of other's creations and your own touches through trial and error. Good luck and sorry it took this long for me to reply.

This looks GREAT but it looks more like a torte than a tart. I guess you could make multiple smaller ones?

I guess I created it. It's hard to create a true original, though. It's probably more an amalgam of many things I've learned over the years.
