@kary1982v6 Each axle has only one brake, right in the centre. This is done to make use of the gearing leverage (ring & pinion x the planetary at the hub) which would be about 17-1 gear ratio. When the brakes are applied the stopping power is multiplied 17 times compared to if the brakes were at the wheel, the only draw back from this system is the brake rotor is turning 17 times faster than it would at the wheel, so they use brake pads that will take this abuse but they throw sparks
@michaelovitch At the burnout he's holding the truck back with the brakes, and braking before his run is finished has me a bit puzzled, braking to make sparks just for show? I think only the driver knows for sure.
WOW you wouldn't think something that lumbers around like that thing does would be nearly that fast on a track as that was. they change out the gears for this one i am assuming ?
This was at our local track. I guess they never did this before because they didn't have a line lock and had to overpower the rear brakes to do the burn out hence the sparks. After the first run they were talking about putting 1 on the truck

@groutaone i actually rode in Big Foot back in those days! i was just a kid but i entered a contest at a stadium and a few of us got to take a ride. crazy stuff!
To make as much power as that engine makes its a pig now don't give me grief I know it has the wrong gearing and its heavy but I would have figured out would have ran mid to low 7 in the 1/8 hell even high 6
@groutaone Haha....funny you mentioned that! I was actually just thinking about how awesome the sound was while I was watching this vid. Audio gain is perfect my friend. Keep on rockin out! :)

@CCSinventions Big bucks, these guys are lucky enough to make a good living at it, there are seven Grave diggers and drivers out there according to the driver of this truck
IF IT HAD SMALLER WHEELS/TIRES IT WOULD HAVE DONE A FASTER TIME, THE ENGINE WOULDN'T HAVE THAT MUCH TROUBLE PUSHING AND WOULD MAKE IT GO FASTER AND ACCELERATE FASTER ALSO

540merlin 5 months ago
@540merlin That would be about a 12:8 1/4 mile, his might be a bit slower as it seemed the truck was all done by the 1/8th but low 13s I would think
