Classic stupid poor troll guy quote: "Hey my internet download speed it's 80 Mbs/sec is that ok? I mean it's obviously superior than yours and does what I want to!!, and what I would wish to have"
@MrBonjay I was joking. I average around 18.5 down and 3.4 up. My highest numbers are: 20.35 Mb/s down and 3.55 Mb/s up. I am only paying for 18 so I am fairly happy with those numbers. I usually ping around 35ms from a server that is about 200 miles away.
@USERNAMEKLEMPTOR Download's good for daily use, and upload is good for the most part. It's just a bit slower than my internet, but it's still very good nonetheless. What is the advertised speed of your internet, and how much are you paying for it?
@USERNAMEKLEMPTOR Then that's really good considering that a lot of people use the FIOS at the same time you would. If you're paying for 15 mbps d/l and 2 u/l then you're definitely getting your money's worth for the most part.
i used to have mindspring or earthlink. great service. now i have AT&T. i don't have a choice. they (AT&T) cut out mindspring/earthlink, the only other choice is TW cable. i don't like cable, i like DSL.

omfg!!!!...my download speed is 0.46 mbps and upload is 0.57 mbps!!!!!....and i am paying for a high speed conection this so ridiculous......i need a new server definitely ^-^...
@capterton That's not too bad. I'm getting 8 mbps download nowadays for some reason. It used to be 14mbps like it was in the video. Is 4mbps just good enough for 480p? Just curious.
@THELAWBREAKER100 That really sucks. The slowest speeds I've ever dealt with was 0.3 mbps download, and that was a nightmare to me. Thank god I only had to live with it for a couple days since it was hotel internet. But living in your own home with those speeds must be the worst thing ever. I feel really bad for you dude, hope you can get better internet in the future!
@nopainnostrength Actually you can, and it's very common. Ever since the internet became widespread to how it is today, download speeds can be much faster than upload speeds since most ISPs thought uploading data was not as important than downloading data. So it's very common to have slow upload speeds and fast download speeds. The only person who needs to get their shit straight is you.
@tfskilletadl lol u dam noob, it doesnt matter what operating system you have XD. If your ISP says you get 2mb/s then you shove that shit up your ass and stick with it lol ^_^
@ethanwit Cool. I think I might need to switch to Fios soon. All I've been hearing from them is good news, and plus a friend of mine in New York gets around 40mbps too, so I shouldn't be any different since I live in the NY area as well.
@wenomz97 Well it's that fast because you're paying a lot more than me for it to be that fast. I'm only paying $20/month for 15mbps down and 2mbps up. You're more than likely paying more than me for 50mbps down and 20mbps up speeds.
@redman6657 Hey. I'm only paying $20/month for 150Mbps down and 100Mbps up, capless, plus free 54Mbps wireless and double DL speed @ night (300Mbps). Bucharest, Romania :|
@TheBetaFox Well, good for you. The internet infrastructure in the US is a bit different than it is there in Romania. I'm just lucky I still don't have a cap. Many of the providers here are starting to put caps and changing their prices. The speeds are pretty good for the price I'm paying here in the US... so yeah.
@wenomz97 Anyways, there's still people in the US who live in rural areas and are only able to get speeds up to 5mbps since there isn't as much infrastructure there.
@EricQcful I've never heard of this brand until now. I suggest that you return the router you currently have and get a Linksys or Netgear Router. If that doesn't work, try to find another internet service provider in your area.
@tazss159 If you're worried about gaming, worry about your ping, not your download speed. You should be getting under 150ms in order to have a good gaming experience.
@tazss159 My local friends get speeds ranging from 0.8mbps-11mbps, when I was in South Carolina, the fastest speeds I could get is 9 mbps, 2 of my friends from Canada get speeds of about 5mbps, my friend from Scotland gets 3mbps, and my friend from the Philippines gets barely 0.2mbps. The only places you can really get 20-50mbps speeds are in urban areas, or large enterprises where a lot of people are using the same internet connection at the same time.
@tazss159 It may look like a lot of people but that's just a hand-full of them when compared to everyone else in the world. Not many people have those speeds.
@tazss159 The US average internet speed is 3.9mbps. There are only so many people that are able to get those speeds. There's limited availability for 50+ mbps speeds.
@redman6657 I can't even watch a YouTube vid in 720P with 12.58mbps while most other people can. And people in the US are always telling me about their 100mbps speeds lol :(
@tazss159 720p videos are fine for 12mbps. Don't believe all the people who are bragging about those speeds. More than 80% of poeple in the US have speeds under 5mbps. So be happy with what you have. They're great speeds. Don't always look at the people that have faster speeds, but look at the millions who have slower speeds than you and would really wish for over 10mbps speeds.
@redman6657 No it's not, 720P YouTube videos load slow as hell, and 1080P videos will probably be even slower. 12.58mbps is not that fast really... survery people on the web, or even on YouTube comments section, the average person has a connection speed of 50mbps :(
@tazss159 Youtube videos load fine. Don't trust what the people say in their comments. Think of the people who aren't on YouTube as much commenting all the time. National surveys say that the average US speed is 3mbps. Be thankful for your speeds. They're fine. Not everyone has 50mbps, only a small amount of people do, which happens to be the people who you are talking about commenting on YouTube.
@tazss159 Are you from the US? The real problem might be because of your ping which affects how fast data can get from servers to your house, not speed. I have the same speeds as you, 720p and 1080p loads just fine, but I may be closer to YouTube HQ than you, which can affect how fast videos can load for you. 12mbps is fine for 1080p, it's just that you might not be as close as me and can't get data packets as fast as I can.
@tazss159 If you're from New Zealand, you should be more worried about your ping than your speeds since it may take longer for you to get data from YouTube's servers.
@tazss159 Yup! It's just perfect for most 1080p videos. Some videos may have a bigger file size than others so you may have to wait for it to buffer a bit in the middle of the video. But other than that, you're fine. :-)
@redman6657 I go on Speedtestnet and I get 11-12mbps download and when I click compare my results I have a faster internet connection then 50% of the people in the world while the other 50% have internet speeds of around 70bmps lol :( And you say "only a handful of people have those speeds". LOL! We're the unlucky half.
@tazss159 It's more than average. The average internet speed in the US is 3mbps. Many people may have speeds over 30mbps, but not enough that it can change the average.
@tazss159 But 80% in the US doesn't, and companies work around that. Most sites can't even take advantage of 30mbps speeds yet. In 5 years, maybe, but not now. When ISPs are better in rural areas of the US, sites will then probably take advantage of 30-100mbps with 4k video, 10000x10000 pixel photos and stuff like that.
@tazss159 There's only 189 comments on this video. So that would mean if all of the people with over 40mbps connections are here, then there will be 189/1,000,000,000,000+ people with an internet connection over 40mbps. 12mbps is still reasonable for today's standards. It may be close to changing into an outdated speed, but I'll still be good for another couple of years. We already have some hardware capable of 2,000x2,000 resolution video, so well be able to render photos like that in no time.
@tazss159 So if you are saying that a lot of people have connections over 40mbps, you're wrong. I'm still getting comments on this video with speeds barely reaching 40mbps.
@redman6657 Yes, 12mbps is becoming an outdated speed... and no really, there are a lot of people that have 40mbps+ (or at least significantly more then 12mbps) connections, LOL on this vid are only a few...
2000X2000 resolution is nothing... I play all my games on my PC at a resolution of 2560X1600...
@ForsakenGuy17 It's okay. lol. Not the first time I've ever got a mean comment. I'm used to it. It's impossible not to get any. Plus, I've made many before. :)
@redman6657 thiswould not have been the outcome if you two were females, girls would probably argue about it for days they dontt know how to get over shit...us guys on the other hand are clearly awesome lol
@redman6657 this would not have been the outcome if you two were females, girls would probably argue about it for days they dontt know how to get over shit...us guys on the other hand are clearly awesome lol
@TrickshotFTW It's just good enough to stream video. At least I have a faster connection that some other people in the US that would wish they would have these speeds...
@maxcor3 to be honest id kill for such a connection bcuz i get barely 0.95mbps ;( . For me 14mbps is still average when i know that other 1s get 100mbps or even faster
@JustinPrasad221 Yes, it could be more accurate, but since everyone uses the closest server to where they live, it's just easier if everyone uses that, which they do, to compare results.

@redman6657 Believe me, with a 12.58mbps connection all I can watch at max is 480P. 720P and 1080P is out of the question.
While, a lot of other people watch 720P and 1080P.
tazss159 10 months ago
@tazss159 Are you from the US? The real problem might be because of your ping which affects how fast data can get from servers to your house, not speed. I have the same speeds as you, 720p and 1080p loads just fine, but I may be closer to YouTube HQ than you, which can affect how fast videos can load for you. 12mbps is fine for 1080p, it's just that you might not be as close as me and can't get data packets as fast as I can.
redman6657 10 months ago
@redman6657 No, I'm in NZ.
tazss159 10 months ago
@tazss159 If you're from New Zealand, you should be more worried about your ping than your speeds since it may take longer for you to get data from YouTube's servers.
redman6657 10 months ago
@redman6657 Even if my ping was good, is 12.58mbps good enough for 1080P YouTube videos?
tazss159 10 months ago
@tazss159 Yup! It's just perfect for most 1080p videos. Some videos may have a bigger file size than others so you may have to wait for it to buffer a bit in the middle of the video. But other than that, you're fine. :-)
redman6657 10 months ago
@redman6657 I go on Speedtestnet and I get 11-12mbps download and when I click compare my results I have a faster internet connection then 50% of the people in the world while the other 50% have internet speeds of around 70bmps lol :( And you say "only a handful of people have those speeds". LOL! We're the unlucky half.
tazss159 10 months ago
@tazss159 Just be happy that you don't have slower speeds than that. You shouldn't be complaining about this...
redman6657 10 months ago
@redman6657 LOL! Be happy to have an internet connection under average? Loads of people have like 70mbps you know????
tazss159 10 months ago
@tazss159 It's more than average. The average internet speed in the US is 3mbps. Many people may have speeds over 30mbps, but not enough that it can change the average.
redman6657 10 months ago
@redman6657 80% of the world has connections over 30mbps... my ISP is shit...
tazss159 9 months ago
@tazss159 But 80% in the US doesn't, and companies work around that. Most sites can't even take advantage of 30mbps speeds yet. In 5 years, maybe, but not now. When ISPs are better in rural areas of the US, sites will then probably take advantage of 30-100mbps with 4k video, 10000x10000 pixel photos and stuff like that.
redman6657 9 months ago
@redman6657 DUDE! Look at your comments, look at people's vids on the Internet, TONS OF PEOPLE GET 40MBPS CONNECTIONS.
I don't know where you got your information from, but 12mbps is pretty shit.
10000X10000 pixels, lol????? We will have hardware capable of that resolution in the year 10385939.
tazss159 9 months ago
@tazss159 There's only 189 comments on this video. So that would mean if all of the people with over 40mbps connections are here, then there will be 189/1,000,000,000,000+ people with an internet connection over 40mbps. 12mbps is still reasonable for today's standards. It may be close to changing into an outdated speed, but I'll still be good for another couple of years. We already have some hardware capable of 2,000x2,000 resolution video, so well be able to render photos like that in no time.
redman6657 8 months ago
@tazss159 So if you are saying that a lot of people have connections over 40mbps, you're wrong. I'm still getting comments on this video with speeds barely reaching 40mbps.
redman6657 8 months ago
@redman6657 Yes, 12mbps is becoming an outdated speed... and no really, there are a lot of people that have 40mbps+ (or at least significantly more then 12mbps) connections, LOL on this vid are only a few...
2000X2000 resolution is nothing... I play all my games on my PC at a resolution of 2560X1600...

@isoloedyourmum Only other way that's actually noticeable is either buy another plan from your ISP or get a new ISP altogether.

all this test does is test the speed from your computer to another server (preferrebly the closest one)
To get the most accurate results, ping a location in which you download/stream from (ie. ping youtube's location)
JustinPrasad221 1 year ago
@JustinPrasad221 Yes, it could be more accurate, but since everyone uses the closest server to where they live, it's just easier if everyone uses that, which they do, to compare results.
