  • Fine Work

  • Love the dark aesthetics. Anything associated with Jen is appreciated by me. She is truly a gifted artist and one of the most original creators on YouTube. Even a dilettante like me can see the genius she exudes.

  • I love this. Faved

  • Gosh. You are good at this !!! Great.

    Andy

  • You are very talented.

  • This was very beautiful, and brilliantly executed. For some reason I keep thinking this is how a Victorian dream should look and feel like...

As I have quite a strange fascination for the 19th century I love that... :)

  • Excellent work! love the music as well. What's the name of name of the song?

  • Cool. :)

  • haha love it :-)

  • hehe, thank you!

  • Way cool combination of stop motion and rewind.

    Clever image selection too.

I used Kevin MacLoed's version of "Danse Macabre" for my video "Welcome to Clippered Hair - A Truth Revealed"

  • thanks Pete! =) I had a lot of fun making this one with my sister ^^

  • yo very cool, very strange and i loved the music what song was that?

  • 'danse macabre': by Camille Saint-Saens... I was wondering too, because I recognise it from a show called 'Modern Toss', but it actually says at the end!

  • very cool guys you did a great job

  • thanks mike!

  • my pleasure. have a merry christmas jenny!

  • Explaination for these comments:

They are my humble attempt to create a small story-line that fits into this wonderful, dramatic, odd, Video, called "Sunday"

  • H: "Burned them?"

J: "Yes, when leather is soaked, it never returns to the way it was after it dries. I merely anticipated their demise."

H: "Quite.. Did you anticipate Opal's demise?"

J: "Whatever do you mean, Mr. Holmes?"

H: "Enemies. Did she have any enemies? Unlucky love affairs? Money Problems?

J: "If she did, she never spoke of them."

  • J: "No, she seldom left the house. She was burned on the face as a child. She charged a kerosene lamp while it was lit. Since then she shunned other people, because of the comments."

H: "I see. What exactly was your relationship to Opal Westlake?"

J: "We were friends. We would go on long walks together. First we would pack a lunch and take our paints. Then we would spend the day painting the lovely Dartmoor scenery."

H: "Where are the boots you wore?"

J: "They got wet so I burned them."

  • Jen: "May I help you?"

Holmes: "Good Evening. I am Sherlock Holmes. This is my partner, Watson. We are here on official business, regarding the Opal Westlake disappearance. May we ask some questions?"

    J: "Certainly."

H: "How did you come into posession of this house?"

J: "After the demise of my Uncle Winscroft, he left it to me and my Sister."

H: "May we speak to your Sister?"

J: No, I'm sorry, she's out of the Country.

H: "Has anyone here besides yourself, ever spoken to your Sister?"..

  • "Watson! Are you there!"

    "Yes Holmes! what is it?"

"Something's odd in this house, don't you feel it?"

"Besides a black cat, and a cold draft on my neck, frankly, Holmes, it seems normal."

"No, you're not watching, Watson. When I drop my hat to the floor, see! it leaps back into my hand!"

    "By Jove, Holmes! I see!"

"Watson, the very laws of Nature are amiss here! I pray it's not of the Devil."

"Good Evening, Gentlemen.", quoth The Raven. And a beautiful young woman entered the room.

  • I'm speechless! Admiring this work, faved :D

  • very nice indeed!

  • Pure genius. A visual and auditory treat everytime.

  • A great little short. I think I was smiling through its entirety. An excellent choice of music for the piece as well. You'll have to do a mystery now with music by the Maestro Angelo as backing.

  • Do you think that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban named their baby after being inspired by Nevermore Films?

  • hahahaha

  • Beautiful film as always. :D It looked so cool!

  • A true work of art should always remain enigmatic. It should tantalize the intellect but never allow itself to be snared by any sort of linear /conceptual net. This is an excellent short film. And it easily fulfills all the criteria, I think!

  • Excellent stuff!!! I'm amazed at how professional this looks. Keep it up! I can't wait to see the rest of the week ;)

  • Nice one Fennias!

When I substituted letters of the alphabet for the numbers on the tablet, it said, "Can't speak, hiding in closet, intruder in home." : )

  • i think decyphered the tablet, a combination of numbers and runic symbols... does it say,"Why is my internet service down?"

    hehe, good work nevermore!

    El Bog

  • ...And they also say paranoia is a strong precurser to madness. Oh dear, Oh dear, whatever shall I do?

  • Why does everyone cease commenting whenever I have one of my legendary commenting "fits"? Is it a conspiracy to embarrass me? :) Oh dear, I guess my insanity will be here for all to see for a long while...*sigh*

  • When will we see the true face of LaCasetaMagica?!!! I think she may keep it hidden behind a half-mask, like the Phantom of the Opera-because of a dreadful accident!!! Or maybe The RavenOfPoe keeps her locked in the attic and only lets her out for movie-making! Or maybe she has no face, and The Raven has no hands, and since childhood, they work together as one! Oh, How cruel and dreadful this life is!!!

  • Well-done to the lads-Joseph and Beano. Real professionals and a joy to work with. Didn't let their egos get in the way of the production. Do toss them a piece of cheese for me!

  • Jennifer, wise Contractual move, to have a stunt-double for the hands and eye.

  • I thought I just heard a scream! Dear God...Oh Footman! Bring down my luggage from my room, at once! I'm not staying another minute in this Hotel!

  • The Danse Macabre Music! Peering Eyes through keyholes! Black cats! Cups filling and emptying on their own disobeying the natural laws of physics, a creepy Victorian child photo on a dresser, an Alchemist's Flask, A carpet worthy of Mr. A.S. Angelo himself! I dare not go down the stairs into the basement!-Shriek!-Panic!-I'm outta there! So wonderfully ATMOSPHERIC! I Loved it!-Congratulations! I see the hints of future Masterpieces of film in this Video.

  • oh my! Yes ... perfection. mm

  • The ubiquitous ennui of the postmodern world, symbolically interpreted intersubjectively and extraobjectively, with time operationally and fundamentally fractured -- casting the observer as an atemporal, semiotic ghost.

  • Yeah!-that goes for me too!...uuhhh..what did he say?

  • Dear StevenErnesst: Positively spooky!-would you believe I was going to say the exact same thing?

  • Amazing stuff! Favorited!

All the scenes just seemed to be in the right order, and nothing was used too much. Very well done!

  • Completely and totally awesome. Love the music, too. :)

  • The cat was like a moving background, kind of startling at first. And the carpet/rug looked really cool in black in white, I'll be sad if it's not actually those colors and levels of saturation. Well done!

  • So good!! I was amazed! When I saw end-credits I realized It was Raven's work! (I forgot you are multi-channeled in more ways than is earthly):). Great job too all!

  • Well, Michael and Jordan already said it so what can I say other than... this was absolutly awesome!! This is the type of video I'm always looking for on YouTube and aspire to make myself. Please make lots more :)

  • Thank you very much Eddy! To make films that we ourselves would like to watch is really our main aim here =)

  • Wonderful! Simply wonderful! It's amazing what you two come up with when left alone!

Haha! I knew it would be her hands! Did we have anything riding on that bet? Good to see the cameos by the furrier members of the family. Oh, I love that carpet too.

Great choice of music. I stood inside Saint-Saëns' tomb last time I was in Paris, and it was full of handwritten notes from people thanking him for changing their lives.

    Once again, bravo ladies!

  • Thank you Michael =) What beautiful sentiments must be expressed in those notes and what a sight to see!

  • Woww, That was awesome! Very-ery good job with the video editing, you guys are getting great at that! I loved this short film and hope to see more like it in the future.. Absolutely fantastic!

  • Thanks Jordan! There will most definitely be some more in this particular series of our more serious short films ;)
