  • Hasegawa is very underrated. He gave Fernando Montiel a good fight before getting caught.

  • @FSMNoodlyAppendage he is overated.. he only fight bum boxers

  • 倒した後のニュートラルコーナーでの佇まい……

    あれは男でも惚れますね。

    最高に格好いい。

  • wheres the unbelievable there??

  • まじだww 1:19 パパがんばれー!!って言ってるw

    言った後すぐのダウン・・パパの力だなw

  • another exciting fighter. He should train and become the next pound 4 pound king. hes not yet globally known but at least he has a heart of a boxer unlike floyd.

  • @cookyplay わかる!!!!

  • sonsona can forget boxing.he doesn't have what it takes to be in boxing and that's discipline. hasegawa will ko that guy in round 1.a superflyweight who moved up to superbantam but still had weight problems..i'm a filipino too but sonsona is not marvelous.he is a fraud and a joke

  • hasegawa is really good.however fight only in his mainland don't expose him to top caliber opponents.let's see aside from agbeko and perez, there's still mares and morel who can rival hozumi's speed.his body is also leaner than the aforementioned..but skillwise hasegawa is so good,no doubt about it.i want to see if his fists are capable of knocking down world class fighters

  • NONITO DONAIRE jr vs HAsegawa ,, is a must ... or MArVin SONSONA vs HASEGAWA ,,, aLSO a MUST !!! BRING it ON !!

  • that's what i've been saying for a while now..Donaire vs Hasegawa....but as for Sonsona...well he just got beat..i guess he needs a whole lot more of growing up to to...hehehehe

  • Sonsona fights at super bantam now and just got crushed in 4 rounds by Wilfredo Vazquez Jnr.

Donaire has just moved up from flyweight to super-flyweight and must be Vic Darchinyan first.

  • Too bad Hasegawa continues fighting tomato cans in such a loaded bantamweight division

  • @GiveandTike The last 5 opponents he's faced have been anything but tomato cans. Malinga, Rocha, Faccio, Valdez, Perez... none of these guys were ranked below 10 in any of the world's bantamweigth rankings. Hasegawa is the real deal.

  • @ihatelifejosemartine We'll see if he's for real if he ever faces Yonny Perez, Mares, Agbeko, or Montiel...We all know the rankings in boxing are corrupt. These guys he faces are C class fighting outside of their home country for the first time vs. Hasegawa. He has nice skills but I would like to see him face top guys at this point.

  • I disagree with the class... Malinga beat Sahaprom and the others were ranked in the top ten around the world. It's easy to say he fights cans because he only fights in Japan but that's not the case. He's KO'd his last 5 opponents, and I feel that he'd beat Perez, Agbeko, Montiel, Mares, Sidorenko, any of these guys. You don't remain a champ for 5 years and make ten successful defenses against world class fighters and not be the real deal, at least in my humble view.

  • I think we will see in a couple of months what he really can do. He's set to fight Montiel in a couple of months and Hasegawa took a pay cut to give him a bigger purse than usual. That right there shows that he's willing to fight top guys. Sure some of the guys he's beaten are B and a couple of C level fighters, but if you look at how he beat them, it shows he's the goods. And Vetyeka, Garcia and Moludrottu were on the Ring top 10 when he fought them, so he has beaten some worthy guys.

  • He has beaten much better fighters than the rest of the world champions at Bantamweight and fights Fernando Montiel next. Only Perez and Agbeko are capable of giving him a fight at this weight.

Hasegawa-Montiel could be fight of the year.

  • i would have loved to see hasegawa fight rafael marquez when he was a bantamweight, then again, hasegawa could also go up to 122 and fight him and vasquez

  • this guy has a hard fucking punch

  • one of his assistant.. Im just wondering is that former Filipino champ Malcolm Tunacao?

  • Yes, Tunacao is sparing partner. Many Pinoy based in Japan historicaly(or quasi home). Luisito Espinosa, Joma Gamboa, Rodel Mayol, Randy Suico, Rolly Runas & many more. Also Mervin Sonsona could be, about 2yr ago. Cuz heavy relationship are there historicaly

But many pinoy show low ethic around there. Why, Cuz guys are something great or kinda right? If its so, so ppl can do so?

I dont wanna rencounter began, Its not good to both. I urge you ppls modify behavior. Before bad thing dont come

  • That's right.

    This person is Malcolm Tunacao.

Tunacao does the staff of Hasegawa

  • @apol182 i think they are stable mate in japan

  • 本当だ パパがんばれー!って言ってるw

    1:19

his daughter said "Dad! do it!!"

    1:22

    BOM!!

    wow

  • i hope he fights nonito donaire

  • Hasegawa is the best superbantamweight in the world.

He should fight a big name in US just to shut up the critics

  • LOL! the best? keep dreaming..this guy will exposed if goes to the U.S. fighting top rated fighters..

  • amazing handspeed and power. he knows the southpaw angles well too...

  • Sonsona cant even make the weight these days... He is like Manny at thtat time: Still growing

  • i would pay to see hasegawa fight donaire... sonsona... eh not really, he needs polishing.

  • Wow dude you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

  • There are no reasons for Hasegawa to go to US.

It's challengers' responsibility to come and get the belt.

It's only 10 h on Jet to come to Jpn.

You guys need to realize that Hasegawa is a real champ.

  • and u need to realize that hesegawa career wont go anywhere if he keeps fighting bums in Japan..

  • yeah but it be really awesome if he came to the States. i would get my ticket in a heartbeat.

  • いろいろコメント書いてあるけど

    長谷川はほんっとに強いよ

  • It's advious that most American based fighters(like Junma Lopez,Israel Vazquez, etc) don't have the courage to come to Japan to fight Hzumi Hasegawa. That' the reason why they claim that Hasegawa needs to fight in the US.

  • The boxers u just mentioned arent american?

  • I mentioned fighters who fight mainly in the us.I couldn't find good american fighters around the BW division, there are only bums.

  • yeah but neither ever said anything like that and besides if it wasnt for internatinal boxers(Exm: Mexicans) boxing in the u.s. would be DIED.

  • I agree that hasegawa shoud fight against strong fighter, go aboraod, but why have to go USA? Good fighter can come Japan. But, i know, jet lag, different climate, food, environment can strongly influence their condition.

  • LOL! that didn't bother the filipino's...if hasegawa wants to be recognized to be the best then he needs suck it up and fight in america.

  • I Think Pac May Be Stronger Than "Double H"

If They Were To Get Into An Exchange Pac Would Drop Him With His Accuracy

  • His opponent shoud consider some body blow combinations added a fake punch to get an advantage over him.he has excelent skills for head slip and footwork, but his blocking isn't so good..looking at matches against Veeraphol or Garcia.

  • He needs to come to america and fight he is a very good fighter and has been a beast in his last few. Best BW right now. His accuracy is very good and has beautiful handspeed i expect alot from this guy. Saludos japan happy to see you guys have a good champion to root for!

  • Our guy hasegawa is waching now 1-2 weight divisins higher than bantamweight.

i guess his future opponents for eliorojas, cris john or y.gamboa....from jp.

  • u guys do realise this is a lower weight fight... so comparing speed with pacquiao is kinda... I dun know... wrong? put on a few pounds on that guy and im sure hel get slower lol but this guy is strong and since hes in bantan or something like that wel... hel never get a real challenge.... oh well xD

  • Great Champion, disciplined and pinpoint punching. Malinga's defence leaks like a sieve. With Hasegawa in front of you, you can't survive to see the last round. Guys let's live Pacman out of this, he doesn;t feature in this fight.

  • Comparing him to pacquiao.

    - hand speed (equal)

    - foot speed ( Hasegawa )

    - power ( pacquiao )

    - boxer ( Hasegawa )

    - stamina ( pacquiao )

    - defense ( Hasegawa )

    - exciting ( pacquiao )

    - ring generalship ( Hasegawa )

  • I dont think its a good idea comparing him to pacquiao. No offense but Hasegawa is far, far, far, far, very far away from pacquiao. Peace to everyone!

  • If you look at the career development of both, they contrast till now where a comparison is interesting. The way I read HH record, he was a boxer when he won title, then afterward he must have improved on his punching power. So that made him a well rounded fighter today. When pacman was fighting at this weight, he was a one handed power puncher, today he is also a well rounded fighter.

  • There styles are similar in that they are both southpaws with good aggressive offense, with the main punches being the straight left and right hook, and the in and out defense. Pound for pound pacman is still a better fighter and even HH has said this, but HH has been a champion for a long time and deserves more recognition for his accomplishments.

  • Did you really just say that Hasegawa has equal hand speed and better foot speed than Pacquiao?

  • I am basing his quick hands on what we can all see and how his opponents reaction when they are down, ie very surprise and don't know what hit them. Similar reactions from pacquiao opponents.

His footwork is better, better balance and more fluent movement. Compare them when they circle the ring and play defense.

I've followed pacquiao's fights since he was on HBO and hasegawa for about a year, but I've viewed all of HH fights on youtube.

  • hahaahahah!! are serious? this make me laugh so hard..

  • 取り巻きが目障りなことを除けば、超完璧チャンピオン。

  • Gerry "Fearless" Peñalosa should fight this top guy next. Hasegawa is number one in the bantamweight division right now and for the most recent JuanMa Lopez loss to be forgettable, Peñalosa should come back down to this division and face this guy.

  • bros, it's easy to talk behind a computer screen, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, with that said, as a pinoy, i'm angered and embarrassed to read the same crap over and over, we need to remember who we are, although we're empowered by the pride of our fighters, it doesn't mean we can boast or brag or talk trash, remember who you are, this will bite you in the end bros...

  • what's unbelievable with this? japanese boxing promoters are just like mayweather. they will only fight those boxers who they think can be beaten by their fighters. just look at the case of nonito donaire jr, where the japanese wbc champion refuses to fight him.

  • Umm no. JBC doesn't recognize the IBF as a sanctioning body, so they don't recognize their champs. And for the first time the JBC was gonna make an exception if Darchinyan beat Agbeko, but he didn't win. Where did you hear he refused to fight him? I call bs.

  • pugilist102 lets just put it this way. US is the boxing capital of the world, US born boxing champs doesn't need to go out of their turf to prove their worth, they doesn't need to go out of US for them to be respected because most of their opponents resides and fights there. When a boxer fights in the US its like the whole world watching so why go out. The main stage of boxing is in the US so when a boxer wants to prove their worth and wanted to be respected they fight there. peace to everyone!

  • Well according your logic, US born champs are just US champions because they haven't gone and fought outside their home turf. Remember that's what YOU said, I never said that.

While I agree that the US is the hollywood of boxing, like the film industry, there are great films (boxers) being produced all over the world. You just need to be a real fan to appreciate it.

  • US born champs doesnt need to fight outside their country to prove themselves maybe they can have, lets say exhibition fights in china or maybe in japan for the sake of their fans. I repeat it once again US is the real arena for these brave fighters and the whole world is watching there. Most of their opponents resides and fights there. Dude we have different point of views of our own. I hope you got my point coz I got yours. Peace to everyone!

  • I dont understand why the JBC doesnt recognize the other boxing governing bodies like the WBO and IBF. I hope to hear from them...And if the JBC wants their so called boxing champions to be respected they should try pitting them against quality opponents not just a guy who has a poor records. Peace to all

  • You again!? Your an hating idiot! Your comments are so not credible it's stupid. If you think Japan has crap champions, then you don't know shit about boxing or it's fighters. If you think he never fought any quality opponents, then you really don't know shit. What about Donaire, who's gonna fight a 13-3-2 fighter soon? Yeah, just shut up.

  • yeah its me again please stop from your unnecessary words to me coz I've never wrote such words to you or to this boxer. And please yor taking this personal dude Im just posting my comments here.

  • So by your logic, if someone wins a belt in his home country and only defends that belt in his country that boxer is not a world champion but only the champion of that country? Try telling that to all the American boxers who've never left the country.

  • And this boxer should try fighting outside his world i mean his turf. He should be fighting quality opponents i mean a world class fighter not just a boxers no offense but thats true. pugilist102 I'm not here to belittle your boxer I'm just voicing out my opinion.

  • No doubt its your opinion and for that matter he's not my boxer, the problem i have with your opinion is the faulty logic behind it. Even though you've removed your previous post, your logic flaw is again present in this post. Again if we apply your logic to all boxers, who really is a world champion? There aren't many boxers who fight outside of their "world", especially American boxers.

  • You saw what happen to Ricky Hatton right?

  • I'm in the US and even we say he's the best Bantamweight! Your just jealous for some reason huh?

  • I've noticed this about the Fillipinos no wonder everyone hates you guys, you guys come onto every video of other countries fighters and belittle them, yes we understand that you're proud of your Pacman, but you guys show so much disrespect to other country's fighters like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Britain, etc. At least Japan isn't a poor 3rd world country like the Phillipines that hasn't contributed to this world.

  • Arent you ashame that you talk a lot of disgusting words and you dont now anything about that, got no breeding huh? dont disrespect me as if im dissing you too I post my comments here not to put harm to anybody and you talk like that. Ofcourse we respect these nations fighters who told you that we dont? your good huh can you please tell me whats next for pacman?Ur a good reader arent you? And pls watch ur words that Phils. aren't contributing to this world coz everybody know that ain't true.

  • What I say is true. No wonder the Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, British, has a problem with you guys. You guys talk too much shit about other peple and their countries. In fact it happens to be the nation of the fighters that pacman fought. You guys even talk shit about black people because Mayweather is back and may challenge the p4p status. Every boxing video you Fillipinos just disrespect other people's nations not just their fighters. Maybe you should be ashame of your people acting like this.

  • What you say is disgusting. c'mon dude, you are bragging about us that we talk a lot of shit and disrespect other nations fighters but have you heard or read the comments of your fellow americans talking nasty about us and our fighters? hey kid, dont pretend that you and your country are clean about these issues that you brag about. dont be mean and dont act as perfect americans. bitter.

  • Who came onto this video and talk shit on this Japanese fighter? it's the pinoy, you. Who goes onto videos of mexican fighters and talks shit about them? About Peurto rico fighers, About British fighters. Remember it's you the pinoy that came onto this video and talk shit about this fighter. Who said it first?

  • Someone help this guy please. If you cannot accept our opinions and thinking that we are talking shit about these japs and other fighters etc... it is your opinion. We have our own and you have yours. I will not waste my time writing back because its a pointless conversation.

  • by the way mayweather jr. and other gbp dolls keeps talking shit about pacman.

  • And you the 3rd world Phillipines has contributed nothing in terms of science, technology, innovation or anything. All you have is your little Pacman in boxing that's it. No one gives a shit about the Phillipines. When Pacman is gone, all the Phillipines will be known is a 3rd world country that has's contributed anything in this world.

  • Your statements are totally irrelevant to this video. You know what If you want debates about us as a 3rd world country go and find someone or forums who can give you what you want. This is boxing we are talking to you are way too far now kid. when pacman retires boxing will be doomed and mma will take over.

  • Of course you don't know shit about boxing. Boxing is in a decline because of the HW division. It is the most important and glamourous division in boxing, it is called the lifeline of the sport for a reason. The Manny Pacquiaos come and go. Boxing's popularity will be revived again if a talented HW boxer like an Ali or Tyson comes. It's the big boys that gets the most attention, not the little guys. Now go fuck off with your Manny Pacquiao.

  • Maybe you are right that the HW division is the star for all season for this sport and you wish that soon there will be the next ali or tyson well its over for them coz the Russian and ukranian HWs are sweeping the higher weight divisions specially your HWs. So dont expect that to happen now. It is showtime for these "little guys" and it is them who gets the most attraction now not your lovely "big boys". Of course were gonna support pacman the no.1 p4p boxer of the world. I hope it ends here.

  • ANOTHER IMPRESSIVE WIN!

  • July 14,09 WBC world bantamweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa defeated Nestor Rocha of USA in 1st round TKO at 2:28.

  • Hasegawa san is very good, i think he is already belong to the elite of fighters since that he has very fast hands and great technical skills, however I want to see him with Nonito Donaire

  • Or atleast vs anyone of the top ten Bantamweights in the world. He has great looking skills, but against world ranked 14, 20 28.... who doesnt?

  • I have been impressed with this fighter. I want to see him in the U.S. I think he is very good.

  • i want to see him to take on the WORLD

  • それはすごいよ!日本の中でだれが一番のボクサーですか?

Heheh, My Japanese is poor. =P

    へたですね。

  • I'm Japanese,I'm sorry. my English is poor . Hasegawa often says that he wants to change the weight up, and fight in the US on some TV program in Japan. Now,he needs to lose weight 12~13kg to fight bantam weight., so he suffers from reduction in his weight. please forgive my poor English...

  • 長谷川の動きはクレーバーだね♪

  • fight outside japan,im here in japan ,i watch this fight i see that hasegawa fight only easy beaten fighter,go to u.s. ,or better fight all bantamweight champions but not here in japan in america we can see if hasegawa really a champion...and its not true that hasegawa can win over gorrez...they were both left hand and gorrez is much more experience fighter and fight much more dengerious opponent....

  • Well, I am here in the US and he is recognized as the best Bantamweight in the world. Hasegawa is fighting more legitimate top 10 fighters than any champion right now. Fighting in their own country or not, I don't think it matters as long as your fighting good fighters. About Gorres having more experience, that is not true at all. Gorres has more fights, but Hasegawa is fighting at a way higher level and fights much better guys. And yes, people want to see him fight in the US.

  • i jusy search my birth day march 12 and this came up

  • Hozumi Hasegawa...would easely smash that bad smeled shitty Filipino Z Gorres and overrated Mexcunt asshole Fernando Montiel in pieces...no doubt remains...

  • have u smell Z Gores? before you talk shit try to smell your ass first..hasegawa is not a known fighter outside japan while gores is a known fighter outside the philippines particularly in the US. hasegawa is another overrated boxer he never face a classA fighter yet and you are giving soo much hype to him. he is a good boxer but he haven't face any elites yet.

  • rokhazte...Hasegawa KOed Veeraphol.Veeraphol is definitely a class A fighter because he spanked Toshiaki Nishioka's ass 3 times..Did you saw Jony Gonzarez got raped by Toshiaki Nishioka? Veeraphol is 10 times better than Jony and Toshiaki but was KOed by the new legend HOZUMI HASEGAWA.This fact shows that Hozumi Hasegawa is far above the level where Jony.G,F.Montiel and the shitty filipino Z Gorres are..

  • hahaha.rokhazte, using "who?" or "fight in the US" card is the typical behavior of stupid people.Nowadays, the US boxing is not special and It's realy common that "elite in America" get fucked by "nobody".It's advious that prime Veerapol was better than some "elites".Btw,who has Z Gorres or F.Montiel beaten? Gorres was spanked by Montiel and Montiel had his ass fisted by Gonzarez who was raped by the " nobody" Nishioka. That's all, isn't that?

  • azarashikamen(Whatever)..Now who has nisioka or hasegawa has beaten? they also beat the "nobodys" right? so montiel, gorres, nisioka and hasegawa are "nobody" beaters..Aren't they?

  • You guys need to chill the fuck out! Z Gorres, Nishioka, Hasegawa are all good fighters in their own right. Penalosa ko'd Gonzalez with a body shot, Nishioka ko'd him to the chin, so it's a totally different concept. Nishioka, by the way has fought in the US 3 times all KO victories and Hasegawa want's to fight in the US, but of course it makes more business sense to fight in Japan, cuz he makes lots of money there. Oh, Hasegawa is fighting more legit top 10 guys than any champ right now.

  • No, he isn't dreaming to fight Pacman. Your comment is a joke, innit?

  • great stamin, he must have thrown 300 punches in 1 round

  • good knockout hozumi got fast hands

  • Nice left

  • The art of Spaz Fu is creeping into professional sports. Here's just another example.

  • Comment removed

  • Asian atheletes have been kicking ass latley!

  • the japanese speak "jab" as "jabu" *_*

  • I think Z Gorres would be a good opponent for Hasegawa..and I hear GlassChinyan is moving up to bantamweight too..Vic against Hasegawa could be good

  • The Japanese guy of course, the not black guy.

  • lmao.. it kinda does hahahaha

  • I believe Hasegawa can be competitive in the 122lb weight class. He's got the power and skills. Fighters may avoid him. But than again who knows?

(beewise459) You forgot about flywt champ Nonito Donaire. A young fighter to watch out for. He's defending his title against Raul Martinez coming 4-19-09. I predict Donaire will prevail.

(beewise459) you forgot to mention about Nonito Donaire.

  • Hozumi has power? r u kidding me? do you have any idea on the record of hasegawa? it's 26-2 (10 KOs) my friend, it just happened that he fought a bum that's all

  • このアナウンサーもんどりうって倒れた!!っていつも言ってる。

  • I would like to see him fight the winner of the Marquez and Penalosa fight!

  • I thought penalosa was fighting juan manuel lopez for the wbo 122lbs strap?? (gerry's been my boy since 1997 when I was a 12 years old kid and he was tearing shit up as the wbc 115lb champ) Gerry's definitely gonna test juanma, but lopez wins this

I think Hasegawa is definitely the big dog at 118lbs after Marquez's departure.

Does anyone believe that Joseph Agbeko, Abner Mares, Gerry Penalosa, Fernando Montiel, Johnny Gonzales, or Anselmo Moreno can stick it to the fast and crafty Japanese??

  • The fight was scheduled Saturday, April 25 in Puerto Rican time, it's Saturday here in the Philippines.

  • hozumi looks pretty good against bullshit, but i do believe king kong, mares, and montiel would beat him

  • Damn, that dude went to work out there. I'm not even sure if I've ever seen someone be so aggressive within the first minute of the fight. He would have been completely gassed if he didn't end up knocking the other guy out, and the fight went into the later rounds.

  • maybe, but i think he's in unbelievable shape. I think he knew what he was doing.

  • he's ippo.

    hahahha

  • 実況の「マグレッシブル」に吹いたw

    長谷川選手、おめでとうです^^

  • nice fight :)

  • あのアレクサンデル・ムニョスをして「長谷川には勝てない」といわしめたこの強さは間違いなく世界のトップレベル。

    フェザーやライト級に転向したら、海外の強豪も逃げ回ったりして....

  • must be like a hundred flies landing on you one after the other...

  • does anyone know any famous japanese heavyweights in this era?

  • lol commentators gettin orgasm or somethin lol

  • Hasegawa seems to be faster and have longer reaches.

  • >Andymac175

What are you talking about? Vusi Malinga was ranked as 1st in WBC Bantamweight by defeating Veeraphol Sahaprom. He is not a easy opponent to fight against, just got out classed.

Looks easy on TV? Sure, that's because Hasegawa is way too fast and skillful! I mean Hasegawa put 3 punches in that 1st down. Putting Left & Right blow and made Malinga's guard down and finishing Left in split second. 3rd down; as you can see it's beautiful cross-counter! He really showed us his skills.

  • Malinga isn't weak. Hasegawa was simply the superior and faster boxer.

I don't get the incredulity or some of the obnoxious racism. Hasegawa has been accepted as the world's best bantamweight for years now. It's not because of his race, but his individual ability.

  • its not even chinese

  • shin ku hado ken

  • baccichoi baby yeah.

  • this is one of those matches where a high level fighter fights a lower skilled one to boost his confidence for an upcoming big fight..

  • whats the weight category for these guys?

  • bantum

  • asians are the best in fighting lmao.

  • Statistically speaking, no.

  • ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ǝqıɹɔsqns puɐ soǝpıʌ ʎɯ ɥɔʇɐʍ uʍop ǝpısdn ǝʇıɹʍ oʇ
