  • AMAZING!!!!!!VERY PASSION!!!!!!!!!PERFECT!!!!!!CONGRATULATION!!!

  • her choice of fingering and choice to go into the upper positions for the opening phrase are unusual but jeez, it really works well, musically. The thing I have always really marveled at with Marcovici's playing is that she has incredible control always. she never fails when she performs.

  • waw....super!

  • I love her playing this is one of my favorite concertos and I play music myself, but for me I love to see her play. She is a very beautiful woman and a great musician; this is not very common.

  • I have to say I really love this recording of her playing but my only question is Why does she raise her shoulder. If you are not a violin expert, don't respond.

  • @YNGVIRTUOSOVIOLIST (not a violin expert) most likely because she feels comfortable doing so. More speculation from actual experts can be found on the Saint-Saens page.

  • EXTREMELY PASSION!!!!!!

  • In simple words: excellent!

  • she plays this VERY well but the way she plays it with her elbows SUPER high and everything makes it look very tiring. also, her movement doesn't seem very natural. but, all aside, she is an extremely talented violinist.

  • VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!!VERY CLEAR!!!!

  • This is the best interpritation I'v heard thus far... I love her temp choice and all her musical interpretation. Very clean and controlled. I find many of the other players take to many bizarre expressive libertiers that don't make musical sense. Though the orchestra kinda sucks.

  • Her interpretation is very different from that of other violinist's. Can't say I like it too much but she delivers a very well-controlled performance.

  • Absolutely beautiful and controlled performance.

  • Very nice playing!

  • I always love her clarity. It's always technically flawless. Interestingly, this is the first time she appears to not be using music.

  • wow...WONDERFUL version!

  • ciao sara !!quando vieni a villafranca?

  • One the finer versions.

  • absolutely fantastic.

silvia is one of the greatest violinists.

  • Great interpretation. Some of the others just rush at expense of intonation. She gets it right and is still an obviously technicly flawless player.

  • among the best

by the way, she plays the best beethoven i ve ever heard-.... check up the concert here at youtube

  • She is among the greatest violinists of all time.

  • im playing this piece for my college audition

  • me too! good luck!

  • This is so much better than Mutter. I like your confidence and solid technique. There is life in your music.

  • posso studiare con te?

  • silvia sei fantastica

  • one more thing i would like 2 add...ppl from eastern europe certainly hav different taste of music......amen

  • Very nice!

I love her music and her posture on the performance; not too much movement and the eyes half closed to enjoy her own music!

  • Romania forever

  • if you listen to Sarah Chang's, Kyung Wha Chung's, and Silvia Marcovici's they are all very unique to the players. They are the same but their styles really come out. personally i prefer Kyung Wha Chung but i love all of them!

  • I absolutely love her interpretation of Bruch! It's so full of fire and passion, you can tell she must really love this piece. Wtf is wrong with you people who keep bashing her for her looks or just because she plays this differently than some other violinists? Really, bobbing your head and moving all over the place has absolutely nothing to do with how good a musician someone is! I just want to say "AMEN" to Romeniawe!

  • such beautiful tone, I love her!

  • I think people must be more humble commenting performances of great artists. what does it mean "this is not the best performance of Bruch" or "Kyung Wha Chung is better"......is a Concert the same of a football match? This is a very good execution, she is an artist devoting her entire life to violin and music, I can only say thank you to Silvia Marcovici, listen and learn. Or you all out there are Perlman?

  • lacked emotion? hahahahahhahahahahhhahaha...this is a really good interp. in my opinion...also snobbish? Maybe b/c of her facial expressions it would seem this way...watch the end of the 3rd movement when the audience claps...she seems quite humble in shaking the conductors hand and first and second chairs

  • she was good, but lacked emotion and she seemed kinda ....i can't think of a good word...maybe snobbish?

  • Her shoulder moves up and down - bad habit.

I like Kyung Wha Chung's interpretation better.

  • Yup, Kyung Wha Chung's iterp. is passionate and really touch me...

This interp. is nice but I dont like the openning and overall.. just kinda lacked of emotion, i think?

  • It's not that she's my conational, but her interpretation really touched me...Even though it's quite far from what I've head live from the magic hands of Pinchas Zuckerman...That is a day that I won't forget. But as I don't have Zuckerman recordings with this concert, I'll be content with this one on youtube...

  • i dont like the sound of her violin at all!

  • SHE IS PERFECT

  • Does anyone know where and when this was filmed?

  • at the Athenaeum in Bucharest, Romania

  • it just seems like...i couldn't feel HER emotions..i just felt like it was all a technical performance and not so much like a performance with her emotions

  • You couldn't have said it any better.

  • I agree with limshau -.-'. It's a brilliant interpretation but its not the best I've heard. Especially in the slower section, she could be a little less "virtuostic" and "bombastic" and play softer, let the orchestra be heard some because the harmony in that section is so touching. She kind of plays monotone the entire movement. But I'll never doubt her technique, which is very well developed.

  • tennisplayer, i hope you are a better tennis player than a music lover...

  • congratulations also for having such a rich vocabulary...

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I agree whit you, she's absolutely perfect!!!!!

  • i reallyreally like it! perfect!

  • Excellent performance, but a bit too tame in my opinion.

  • Her violin has 4 fine tuners, unusual.

    Isn't it disturb the tone?

  • google her name before saying stupid things about her performance and technique...

  • tovin; her name is silvia marcovici, isnt she good?

  • hey joosangbai, I think she's great actually, I was just addressing some people who made comments about her being terrible. If they would only take the time to google her, they would think twice about saying those things. I mean, she's got a recording with Leopold Stokowski (not sure how to spell his name), that means something.

  • yes tovi, she won many competitions, certainly she is the top violinist of the world.

  • CLARINET!!! wrong notes in the clarinet!! AIIEEEEEE. you know that guy got fired right after the concert.

  • She's really good but man is she creepy looking.

  • limshauming ur a fag...everyone is entitled to their own opinions and i personally think its a nice new interpretation...what eapan said was very true...so u oughtta stfu

  • well, you're welcome eapanviolinist.seriously u noe nothing bout tis piece of music.

  • This is a very new interpretation to me...not quite as forced, but so much power. You can hear every note, even in the chords. I like it a lot. Limshauming, you need to stop bashing on her. Thank you for posting!

  • is she a pro?if she is,she shouldn't call herself a pro.she is all wrong!!!style,sense of music...i'll giv her ZERO!not bruch at all!n her right hand.....

  • limshau; what happen with you? you may need good eye and ear check up with your doctor. i like this violinist very much, excellent technique and tone. top class.

  • u like it n u love it,it's ur choice,ur taste...not mine!i dun really get it y,so many ppl think tis is d best performance ever?she may won many competitions but it doesnt mean she is d best...2 me,lots of talents out there which r much more better than her...

  • Limshau; she plays so accurate, especially double and triple stops, near perfect, did you ever play this? this is not easy one.

  • yes,i agree, very accurate indeed, double and triple stops 2 r very accurate..i played tis piese of music 3 yrs ago n it took me almost 5 months 2 master it(i mean d notes,style..).it's 1 of my favourite concerto...but wat i meant is she lack of d 'bruch's style'.i've heard so many violinist play tis concerto n dun mean 2 hurt u or say somethin bad bout ur favourite violinist, she is not doin a good job here....2 me.

  • Great!, u r a established violinist. Would you dear to post your video? please!

  • she looks scary

  • not good - cramped and boring

  • awesome!!!

  • boring

  • This is noble, this is pure...this is music
