  • This guy deserves a blowjob!!!

  • Fuuuuck that's good. I've been drumming a year and a half and the best thing I can brag about is being able to play every Eagles of Death Metal song on drums. Nice work bro.

  • 5 people need to get on up and go drivin'. :)

  • That my friend is awesome

  • sensual

  • Sick.

  • DUDE YOU TOTALLY NAILED IT.PERIOD.

  • best cover on youtube

  • bravo well executed!!!!

  • Nice job, dude!

  • I made o drum cover of this aswell.... in HD :D Please check it out!!!

  • holy fork :P

  • Fuckin' awesome man, keep it up! :)

  • I wanted to throw my fists in the air and shout "FUCK YEEEEEAH!!!" at the end of that, but that sort of behaviour is frowned upon in my office...

    Top work lad!

  • Nice kit!!!!..... Looks like Cobham's.

  • awesome ending

  • 5:12 i don't know how, but your drums are tuned so close to dave grohl's!

    great!

  • damn, the triplets at the end were freakin' awesome

  • @MozasFury Haha yes! My favorite part of the song, of course.

  • haha noticed you jumped in a little early at the end when it has that long pause. I know it's tricky to get it right, i usally mess it up myself haha

  • @welovewii4 Haha! Yeah. I did a few takes of this one before I got it just right. I nailed that part on one of the previous takes, but I messed up something else. :( Oh well!

  • Awesome triplets at the end, man. This is the song that made me want to pick up drums. Been a little over a year now and I still haven't got it down completely! Good job.

  • @Lugak14 Thanks! Yeah it's tough to get those triplets at first. Once I got them down, I couldn't stop doing them. I use them any time I get a chance.

  • perfect man you're really good!

I am a begginer in drums, I hope one day I'll be able to play like you.

  • @nassosa Thanks! If I can do it, I'm sure you can. Rock on. :D

  • this is very amazing u r an amazing drummer major props from me and i think i can also speak for every fan of qotsa!!

  • @slipknot825 Thanks man, I appreciate it. :)

  • wow fucking nice work!!!

  • @TheStonerMatt Thanks man! :D

  • Nice work! Are you two handed?

  • @ThePorreye Thank you! Yes, I do some things right-handed and other things left-handed.

  • Well done my friend! sick!... keep it up! PERFECT TIMING!

  • @estrela0escura Haha, thanks! :)

  • sweet dude

  • @elnutjob Thanks!

  • that ending is just fucking awesome!!

  • @oiergasdn Yeah! It's a blast to play. My arms would probably fall off if I tried it today, I haven't played it in quite a while.

  • tighter than a virgins snatch!

  • @laiban Ha! Thanks. :)

  • AWESOME!!

    well done dude :)

  • @DrawingsandDesigns Thanks! :)

  • Quite possibly the coolest bit of drumming ever.....

    Epic cover too

  • @Olinolan190 Thanks! I have to agree, this song is classic.

  • Duude!! :)

  • @GRSM000 Haha! :D

  • Nice dude. What drumkit are you using? Sorry if you answered this question before, i can't visit the Foo Fighters videos of yours. Awesome video, i subscribed :D

  • @MoonsaultTV Awesome, thanks for subscribing! This kit is a Pearl Masters Studio BRX. The floor tom on the left is an old Tama Crestar, and the snare is a Tama Starclassic Performer. All the drums are 100% birch shells.

  • open-handed drummers. we are taking over xD

  • @Inlistd Yeah! Like a zombie invasion!

  • Very very nice.

Feel sorry for people that have to play grohl stuff.

    The pain afterwards.. ouch!

  • @Tomsthumb lol, thanks! Usually only hurts if my finger wanders in between my stick and the snare rim. :( And it has, many times.

  • did u play single or double stroke roll? (at about 4:44)

  • @Kurdtttt That's a single. It's hard to see, but my left hand moves to the snare for one stroke.

  • very good cover but: slow down a little!

    nice job!

  • @Miafoitkanomei I have a need for speed! :) Thanks.

  • do u need that many drums?

  • @readingfcdec Haha, nah. Actually these days, I usually just play a four piece setup.

  • OMG dude this is awesome.

Im thinking about doing this song for a talent night thingy at my school and i'd just like to say thanks, because ill probably be using this as a reference cos i can't find any drum tabs

  • @MonkeYYboii07 Thanks! That's awesome, I hope the video is helpful.

  • OMG you are insane men.. Congratulations!

  • @weromapn1 Thanks! :)

  • OMG you are insane men.. Congratulations!

  • I have to say, that yes, you can play drums, but still it is a little bit out of the tempo, isnt it? But it is fine. I also play drums and my version would be not much better than your attempt

  • @oskarveliky Yeah, there are some tempo problems here and there. It's pretty hard for me to play exactly on tempo with a recording, mostly because it's hard to hear the song over the drums. Thanks for commenting!

  • Dare I say..the best drum cover of this song, ever?

I think so. Grohl would shank your hand after seeing this.

  • @LankanLatino Haha, thanks!! :) Quick, someone send Dave a link!

  • Have you ever had lessons ? Haha,This was SOLID !!! XD

  • @ChriyR Thanks! I'm actually self taught on the drum set. I had some basic percussion training in school, snare drum rudiments and stuff like that. I WISH I had taken lessons, though! I'd be way better.

  • Good job. Very solid! Obvious training with this one. Proper technique.

  • @Ads7903 Haha, thank you, thank you. :)

  • amazing

  • @Tylnych445 Thanks!

  • its hard to keep the hit hat during the fast kick drum part...apart from that it perfect ;DD nice job

  • @YamahaStageCustomAdv Oh yeah, I had to go watch to see which part you meant. Grohl's single bass speed is far underrated! He's pretty quick with that foot of his.

  • you nailed the fills at the start there, well done!

  • @610372 Thanks! I think that might be my favorite part to play.

  • @jaxonater1 snare high kick floor high kick

is the basic, every two bars there's a snare on the second and fourth beats and sometimes theres two snares one after the other...

hard to explain and im on my iphone so i cant be bothered typing it in detail, sorry.

  • Very nice, got the end just right :) lot of drummers get it wrong.

Also i love how you reply to pretty much every comment :D

  • @JEB375 Haha, thanks. I do my best to get it exactly the way it's supposed to be played. I figure if you take the time to comment, I should respond, right? :)

  • could you please the fill at 5:30? =) if possible lol

  • @jaxonater1 You know.. I just need to make a video about that. lol. I get asked about Dave's triplet fills so much, it deserves its own video.

  • @jaxonater1 I'm working on a video about this still. My camera has been a pain or it would already be up. :(

  • @iendacard Thats great man i think ive managed to work most of it out myself but im not great at keeping it going for ages in time

  • @jaxonater1 Awesome! Yeah, it took me a while to get pretty good at it. When I used to practice with my old band, I'd just do triplets in between songs. That's how I got good at it, haha. :)

  • @iendacard haha thats what I do whilst they're trying to tune up, gets on there nerves :D

  • nice job man, Dave Grohl is my favorite drummer!

  • @pearldrummer250 Thanks! Mine too, obviously. lol :)

  • this is one of the hottest drum covers i've seen.

  • @qu4ntumr4nger Wow, thanks!

  • noice

  • @holymandle16 Thanks!

  • Man that was fucking Badass

  • could you please explain that snare part at 00:37 and also that bullet-sounding roll you do at the end of the song?

  • Sure! At 00:37, there are really only three different phrases going on. Phrase 1: Triplet, then a short rest (dadada--). Phrase 2: Two 8th notes and a rest (da--da--) Phrase 3: One 8th note followed by a triplet. You'll see the hi-hat close on the rests in phrases 1 and 2. Phrase 3 is repeated three times, except on the last repeat, you omit the last note of the triplet and go straight into the next part of the song (da-dadada, da-dadada, da-dada).

If that didn't make sense, let me know. :)

  • The roll at the end is just a single stroke roll with every fourth stroke accented, starting with the first. So if you're right handed, just accent every other time your right hand hits the drum.

And it is pretty fast for a single stroke roll.. I had to build up to it, and I probably couldn't do it right now 'cause I'm out of practice. lol.

  • You look like Grohl when he was in Nirvana.

  • I get that a lot these days, lol. :)

  • Very good job. I love Grohl's drum work and your cover is spot on.

  • Thanks! He's my favorite drummer, obviously. lol

  • sweet cover bro im tryin to figur out how to do the ending solo tho think u can help me out with that :/

  • Yeah man. I've been meaning to do a video about those triplets for a while.. I'll definitely talk about it in that video!

  • dude i have the same problem at 4:02!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol.. gets me every time. :) Actually I did a take before this one, and I NAILED it! Then I messed something else up and had to do it again. :( Haha

  • crash on you ride! (:

  • Indeed. :)

  • fantastic cover for an awsome drumming song. well done :) x

  • Thanks! I love this song.

  • Eres bueno dude!

  • Thanks man!

  • Você é foda!

    Muito bom mesmo!

    Grande baterista!

    Abraço!

  • Thanks! :D

  • That's badass man!

    Great Job!

  • haha, thanks man! Your username is awesome.

  • @iendacard Thanks man! lol

  • i think ive seen this video about 11,000 times over the past year, give me some tips man ! haha

  • lol! :) I'm gonna be doing a couple of short videos on some Grohl fills soon I hope.

  • awesome cover dude you are great

and the song for me is one of the best drums songs

  • Thanks man! Yeah, it's one of my favorite songs to play.

  • lets made a riot ! :)

  • Yeah!

  • Comment removed

  • Zodiac signs don't mean anything but thanks for coming anyway.

  • just one question .... can you play well??? or you still need to learn more???

  • Haha, well.. there's always more to learn, right? My sign is Taurus. :)

  • What an ace song and great drumming. The Songs For The Deaf album probably has Dave Grohl at his best on drums.

  • I must agree. Although I'm a big fan of all his stuff, Songs for the Deaf is where it's at.

  • FUCKIN AWSOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

    YOu´re very good drummer...nice skills!

Keep it goin my friend...QOTSA 4ever!

  • Thanks man! YEAH!

  • sorry, my bad, i think it's bcz the video got a lil outta sync with the audio.

  • Yeah, the audio and video were recorded on separate devices. I had trouble syncing every video. Hey, if your band tours the US, I'd consider it!

Are you a Melvins fan? I saw them a couple of years ago, but I couldn't stay for the whole show because I started going deaf. :)

  • i'm not sure if it's youtube's fault but it sounds like u played a lil faster than the song at the last few beats, thus the cymbals didn't end the same time with the guitars.

still, u got mad skills, mate. i love drummers who can pummel their toms like that. wanna drum for my band? i'll kick my drummer out immediately! hahaha...

  • the best!!!! EL PUTO AMO

  • Thanks! :D

  • Is there any way you can "explain" the wild drumming at the end of the song? (5:30)

I never understood that part :/

    Insane video, though.

  • Sure! Those are triplets played right hand, left hand, bass. It's the same pattern throughout the end, but occasionally one or both hands will alternate to the snare for accents. That's pretty much it! Once you get that R L F sticking down and speed it up, there are a lot of neat things you can do with it.

  • @iendacard Thank you very, very much. You helped me a lot :V

In case you were wondering: I'm recreating that song on Guitar Hero 5, I'm pretty much with the bass, rhytm- and lead-guitar parts and just need the drum part at the end. Too bad Activision deletes "stolen" songs on their user created content page "GH Tunes".

  • Yeah.. that sucks they do that. Oh well, maybe one day all bands will just release their own stuff on the internet!

  • YOUF'N ROCK! I wish i could hear the kick on my stupid lap top......

  • Haha, thanks! Yeah, the kick is a little quiet in this vid anyway.

  • çççopen handad huh?

    great job man

  • Yeah! Thanks :)

  • this is pretty awesome !!!

    you rock dude!

  • Haha, thanks. :D

  • i like the other camera angle better bud. do this vid again but opposite angle pleasee?

  • Haha, well.. maybe. :) Future videos will have a better angle for sure. I have a video camera and my digital camera, so I'm thinking about doing two angles in the future.

  • Awesome Drumming, Great Cover :D

  • Thanks! :)

  • THIS IS DRUMMING

    I like :)

  • Yeah! Thanks :)

  • nice drumming btw :) nice sound

  • Thanks man. :)

  • my brother tried playing this beat.... he watched your vid, we reallised after a good half hour that your not actually playing it right, i just looks like you are coz the backing music is carring you through it!!!

  • @OnArrival What's wrong about it? I have listened to this song probably hundreds of times and watched several live performances of it, so I'm curious to know what I missed.

  • you got it spot on man. i dont know what this guys talking about

  • Thanks man. :)

  • In my opinion, you missed 1 thing.

Thats, when the beginning solo has ended, dave doesnt play is hi hat for one mesure.

He actually plays the Hi Hat again on 0:48 i think...

  • Ah, well.. I just play the hi-hat to keep time, haha. :)

  • @HaNSoNnDaDrummer what's that crap about? drumming is expressing yourself, not copying an other expression from an other drummer. Stop whining about the fact it's not exactly the same, I NEVER play exactly the same beats and fills in my song ! It's a cover, not a replica !

  • Im not whining you fool, its OnArrival who's whining...

I'm giving advice, you're only searching for some rumble

  • i'm sorry but the comment was not intented for onarrival, not you ;)

  • dacht het al, belgen zijn nu eenmaal zo dom niet

  • And, iendacard ASKS what he does wrong, so i tell him, so think before you post something foolish!

  • I have a question, can you make a video about that last part, that crazy part.

I really need it to be slowed down cause I cant hear how to play it!

And nice cover, but your style is pretty weird xp

You play lefthanded and rightfooted xD

    Thank you!

  • Sure, no problem! I'd like to do a whole video about triplets the way Dave plays them (that's what the end of this song is, basically--just fast triplets). He uses them a lot, like in the solo from Avon that he did when they played at Glastonbury. Yeah.. I do play left handed and right footed, haha. :) Sometimes I wish I played differently, but that's how I started, so I just stuck with it!

  • Your set up fucking rocks man!

  • Haha, thanks! I used that setup for a long time, but it's changed slightly since then.

  • omg i thought your arms were going to pop at the final drum roll lol

    good job :)

  • LoL :) Thanks.

  • pretty nice job man. never thought that anyone could cover this so well. 5/5

  • Thanks! :) Much appreciated.

  • greatings from mexico dude im a drummer too but you play it so fucking good that song rules and sounds better with you \m/

  • Hey, thanks! :) Rock on.

  • Nice cover, good job at the end. Check out our cover as well.

  • Thanks! Going to check it out now.
