  • I've read a little about comfrey being toxic to the liver. Also, do you think that it would grow in Florida?

    For info about symphytum officinale and the liver, check out this vid @ 2:55

    basically she says to use "symphytum uplandica x" instead of "symphytum officinale" to avoid the toxic alkoloid, pyrrolizidine.

  • Should have mentioned in this video that you can take Comfrey and make "tea" out of it and water your plants as a mild natural fertilizer. Comfrey will also gives you mass amount of plant material to put into your garden compost pile.

  • Forest Gardening by Richard Hart, tells that liquified cumfrey is AWESOME plant food.
