I was playing drums in a country/ rock type band in the south back in the late 70's.We use to listen to songs to decide together which ones we wanted to play.I think we got halfway thru listening to this and it was a no brainer. We were playing it that weekend.Man what a great song.
This is my favorite Elvis song.During my truck driving days.I choose my CB handle,by this song.I was known as, Honky Tonk Angel. Some shortened it to Honky Tonk. The good old days.
DannyBoy6Elvis - Gladys, I feel so peaceful, like a star of the sea. Shooting the breeze, storms, on this rickety, crickety boat, life,I feel peace dreams, about living, and life, in the waking hours, and whatever is, just is, regardless of mine, and other people's problems. We just are. I am one, for one, and for all, amidst an unforseeable breeze. I have a will. There has got be more ways, for me. Elvis, vulnerable, human and in search of more beauty, truth,&peace. Why not?
This is one of my favourite Elvis songs from the fantastic Promised Land album, recorded in December 1973. But wait one confusing minute - there is a mistake at 1:22 with the spelling ! It should read: Where Did THEY Go Lord !!! How is that possible? Also, I've not seen these covers before in my life! Are they computer generated? Please shed some light on these singles covers.
No. I don't think they are the original covers. I think these covers were computer altered. I became suspicious when I saw the typing mistake at 1:22 But still, a very nice video.
Such a heartwarming song!

Hi wmarkj
Die Bilder aus den 70ern sind überwiegend Single Cover .
Der Song ist allerdings eine LP Version .

Are these ads from the 70's for the lp's, or singles?
