  • your using the wrong cups. you should start them out with something soft such as the Nuby sippy cup. Good transition. Has a soft spout. Not expensive. Then when they get the hang of it then cold turky get some of those cups you already bought. Glad you found one and by now i hope your son has ajusted well. ;) My daughter is now 3 and is learning to use normal cups with a straw. They grow up so fast

  • @peppermae1 The wrong cups?! I tried like 15 cups lol! Multiple ones had soft spouts. But he would only take the transition cup and it was great! Then he transferred to a regular sippy cup and now he drinks from a regular cup and he's not 3 yet :o) I think we did fine! His little brother is 14 months and takes a hard spouted sippy cup and is already starting to drink from regular cups a little. They do grow so fast!

  • Man I need to get one! WE have like a million cups! My daughter was getting the hang of one of her cups but all of a sudden stopped and now she wants to play with it...but she will hold her bottle...go figure right. So Guess what I'm gonna go do! :)

  • did u try the D cup?

  • @Shevuhn777 Ha.Ha.Ha. Oh my gosh you are so hilarious...

  • So I know this video is forever ago but I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I was having the same problem with my daughter-starter her at 6 months she got the hang of it then stopped then tried again at 9 months and she didn't get it. I tried at least 7 different cups and no luck. I watched this video then went on diapers.com and ordered one. I got it today and GENIUS! She got the hang of it right away!! So thank you for doing this review!!!!

  • @AnnetteandJeremy You are SOO welcome!! It's seriously the magical cup! It has worked for everyone I've recommended it to!!

  • where did you get the Dr. Brown's cup from and how much?

  • I used the NUBY transition cup! It came with 3 different tops, a nipple, sippy, and straw, all made with the same nipple material! :)

  • @TheBrittbrat2341 Cool!! Tripp wouldn't take it :o/ But we tried lol!! Now he'll take any cup though. It was just trying to transition him that was so hard!

  • Oh my goodness! I've watched all your videos but totally forgot about this one! I started going back through your videos around Dacen's age now to see if I could get any tips! And I'm sooo glad I did! I am placing an order for one of these Thinkbaby sippy cups first thing tomorrow morning! Like you guys we went through the exact same thing! We gave him that Avent one early on and he took but we stopped too!! I'm so excited to try this one out! Thank you Thank you! I hope Dacen likes it too!

  • @DevoStevo04 Oh yeay!! I'm so glad!! I hope the cup works/worked for him!!

  • Yeah Ive seen good reviews on nuby sippy cups and didnt know u can buy th replacement spouts separstely, thnx...

Very impressed wth your profesional videos, nice. I wanna thnk all th moms who take th time to do these videos

Oh and please recycle instead of throwin away

  • @FerchoyMayis Thank you :o) Don't worry, I gave all the sippy cups that we didn't like, to a friend who needed them!!

  • Check out great prices for Nuby sippy cups. They are excellent transition cups from baby bottle to sippy cup and they have replacement spouts available so you don't have to throw away perfectly good sippy cups.

  • Have a 13 month old that still uses a Nuby soft latex nipple sippy. Started with the small ones with handles then at 10 months gave her the bigger ones and she loves them. I think at 2 i will put her on a hard sippy cup.

  • How long did you use thinkbaby sippy before trying regular sippy cups? Thinkbaby sippy is the only thing my daughter will take and I don't want to ruin it by trying to switch too early.

  • @drbrookeludwig Tripp was about 14 months when we finally switched him to a regular sippy cup.

  • I know this is an old vid but I just wanted to know how it went with the Dr. Brown cup? I am also going to try the thinkbaby cup because like you I have a cemetery of sippy cups in my cupboards lol Thanks!

  • @27Juno27 He really liked the Dr. Brown's cup. It worked great for us! But we didn't actually try it until he'd been on the ThinkBaby for a while. It took a little while for him to get used to the Dr. Brown's cup, but once he did, he loved it!

  • @Loraandlayton Thanks!

  • have u try NUBY brand is that ok? which one better NUBY or Thinkbaby?

  • @BabyJasLin I prefer the ThinkBaby. But Tripp liked the Nuby one as well.

  • Thank you for doing this video...I am trying to find a sippy cup that my daughter will take...I am going to try and find one of the transition cups!

  • No problem! I hope it works well for you. It did wonders for us and all our friends!

  • We are in the process of getting Ella to completely take the sippy cup she does well with mostly all sippy cups except the nuk starter cup with colored spout. Her favorite is the nuk active cup which looks like her bottle and has a sippy silicone spout. The daycare we go to called it a "bottle" I was just a little peeved! At least she is taking one so now we are sending a cup that has the same spout but looks just like a sippy cup. They are going to move her to the toddler room at 12 m

  • i love it im going to try it althogh my son is only 3 months so i have a pretty good way to go but i got my 2nd doughter off bottle n sippy cups at 11 months lets just say my whole family was not happy at all with me but i know whats best for my family but thanks for the tip im going to try it

  • you're so pretty and I love your hair!

  • You're so sweet! Thank you :o)

  • Thanks for showing the sippy cup. I have the gerber one for my son and he just chews on it as well. He is almost 10 months and I would love to move on from the bottle to a sippy cup. But he hasn't gotten it yet. This one actually looks like it will work.

  • Hey Lora just curious, do you give Trip formula or whole milk in his sippy cup?

  • Formula. Once he turns 1 we will give him whole milk.

  • so how do you reckon you have spent on all those sippy cups?. I have bought the 'Think baby' after trying two sippy cups. Hope it works.

  • Umm I probably spent like $4 on average for each cup. I'm still keeping them though because as he gets older he might decide to use them :o)

  • Im sorry, do you know what stores they are avaliable in? Or it is just on the internet?

  • I'm not sure. I would think they would be at BabiesRus but we just couldn't find any at ours or at Target, so I just ordered some on line.

  • Great idea! Where did you get the transition cup at?

  • the nuby ones leak everywhere!!!!!, bad idea

  • Really?! We haven't had any problems with them.

  • hey Lora how u doin ?? where is pooodah ?? we miss him sooooooooo much

  • my boys used the nubbies the only thing I didnt like about them is after a while they would chew on them and then you could turn the upside down and the milk would just come out like a fountain. have you tried straws both of my boys could drink out of straws and they have sippy cups with straws they just arent good when they lay down cause obviously they cant get anything out of them.

  • I liked your advise on the sippy cups! I wish I could of known about the ThinkBaby cup a lot earlier! When I have a 2nd baby I'll know which sippy cup to use ...thanks to you! = )

  • My son uses the nuby sippy cup for juice & water and he took to it straight away, they are great cups!

I was just wondering do you feed all his milk bottles in a sippy cup?

  • He drinks only out of his sippy cup. We got rid of all the bottles, completely.

  • Angel loved Nuby sippy cups when he transitioned from bottle to sippy cups! Never heard of the other one though! Maybe ill try it with Alicia

  • Do the transition cups come in different colors?

  • Nuby rock!! and absolutely no spill!

  • Awesome video.

So good listening to other peoples experiences so that when it comes time for your own..your prepared & have choices that may work. ;)

  • cute video.....cools cups never seen or heard of think baby before.....ty for sharring

  • wow thats really good that hes already off the bottles because we couldnt get my little brother off until he was 2. And did you ever use binkys

  • He did, but we took him off that at like 7 months. He does use one at night sometimes when he sleeps though.

  • i have not tried ANY of the cups you have tried lol. But the nuby ones worked great! then after that we went to the nuby a little bit taller and the sippy part looks long and tall kinda like a straw, and that worked great now he can drink from a straw all by him self!

  • Yea, we just tried the Nuby today and he's already doing really well with it! He hates straws though. That's fine thought because I'd rather not deal with the mess lol

  • Thanks for sharing cause we are starting the sippy cuo thing and i'm soo worried we are going to be going through millions of them. I've heard great things about the Nuby. can you update us on how that works? Also, when using the sippy cup? do you give it to him at meals or play time? i'm have a hard time knowing when to give it to him.

  • I give him his cup everytime he wants milk. Just like I did with the bottle. We haven't tried the Nuby yet!

  • My daughter doesn't like the hard plastic nipples on her sippy cups. she has the Nuby and about 4 Munchkin sippy cups. they all have the silocone nipple. Now we just have to get her used to holding it up on her own. my husband taught her how to drink out of these sippy cups we have that have straws instead.

  • i tried the playtex and it worked! I guess i was just lucky!!!! good luck!

  • The ThinkBaby is perfect for us :o)

  • HAHA. "He's been of the bottle for a week now!" You're so silly!

  • LOl! He's so small, but so picky! :D

Does he have constipation? Ugh! My baby brother does&it's a pain to put prune juice in his bottles. :)

  • No, he doesn't

  • :) Lucky for you, lol.

  • Thanks for the info hun!! :)

  • he still use formula?

  • Yea, he's only 10 months.

  • o wow. When I heard you talk about the doctor browns cup I figured you were talking about the one Jayden has but urs is a little different. :) Jayden loves his Dr. Browns cup. We were just like u and had bought a bunch but the Dr Browns was the only one he would use at first. Now he will use his Dr. Browns cup, a munchkin sippy cup that has a straw, and the nuby sippy cup. But he WILL NOT use it to drink his milk out of. He will only drink water and diluted juice out of them. Its so frustrating!

  • You might want to try the transition cup. Because even when Tripp took the sippy, he would only take it for milk or juice. But he took the ThinkBaby cup with milk right away!

  • I meant WATER or juice lol sorry! Long day lol

  • Yea I knew what u meant lol. yea I think I will definitely try the thinkbaby transition cup to put his milk in. Hopefully jayden will take to it!

  • Mr Tripp is a professional cup tester! That transitional cup looks awesome. Derek's corny joke/comment of the day "I'm so glad Tripp is off the bottle, I didn't even know he had a drinking problem". you're welcome for that gem...lol

  • hahaha! Guys are SO strange. That's the third comment I've gotten like that.. from a guy lol! Tripp really should start his own sippy cup testing company hah!

  • The gerber nuk one you showed, was the magical cup for us =) Good luck!

  • Don't throw any of the other ones away, you'll use them eventually! I have about that many for my girls and its great, less stress over washing :)

  • Thanks for sharing!!!! I need someones advise my son is a year old now, and we still cant get him off the bottle. He will drink out of a sippy cup just not his milk so Im going to try the ThinkBaby transition cup!!! lets hope it works!

  • quick question I know you have gone through a lot of sippy cups and I know you have found the right one for your son but have you ever tried ones with a straw I think that maybe when he gets older he might like one of those with a straw since both of my kids have always loved to drink their juice or milk with a straw since they were about 6 months of age, my daughter was about 6 months when she witched from bottle to sippy cup and she had one with a straw and so did my son at the same age.

  • Yea, he had no idea what to do with a straw lol! But we found the perfect cup, so it's all good :o)

  • I used the Nuby, Bought it at Walmart My son was off his bottle at 5 months.

  • Nuby are cool for transition. For big kid sippy cups tho, I loved Gerber because they are so simple, (few parts) and easy to clean and for him to use. That's just us tho. We had one with a pop up Straw and I hated Cleaning and assembling those. There was like 5 LITTLE Parts plus the cup parts! One you might consider also is the Boon Cup. It looks neat. I'd like to know how it works too, it's on my registry. That stinks he Un-Transitioned like that. Oh well, we've all made a 'mistake' like that.

  • It's not really a mistake. We just stopped using it. Plus, he's doing perfectly fine with his transition cup :o)

  • we use all of the nuby brand sippy cups....they are my favorite!!!

  • Thank you SO much for sharing this...we have also tried a ton of sippy cups that have not worked...looking forward to trying this one...hopefully it works for my son as well as it worked for Tripp:)

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VLOG!! *favorites*

I was wondering when to start and which ones to get! so thank you again

  • No problem!! :o)

    Oh how I've missed you!

  • You should also try the sippy cups with the straw. My kids always went from a bottle to the straw sippy cup with no problem.

  • lol! We have tons of sippy's around here too! I'll have to try that one.

  • I swear by this cup lol!

  • My sister uses those Nuby ones with my niece and they work great .. : )

  • Those Nuby ones were fantastic. my son started using those at about 8 months, and never looked back. I am having my second son in 2 weeks time, so hopefully he will be as easy to transition too :-)

  • Great vid Lora, we've tried the tommee tippee cup, avent sippy cup - neither Holly likes. We can put handles on her regular bottles, but like you, I don't want her on the bottle forever! The best one we've tried so far is that nuby cup cuz it's soft like a nipple but the only way to get the liquid from it is to sorta chew/suck the spout, which is what they seem to do anyways! Let us know how you get on with the Nuby! (PS - you could start a shop with all those sippy cups!!)

  • Haha I know!! Ridiculous!! I'm excited to try the Nuby one :o)

  • my sister's about to have her baby and she put the dr. browns baby bottle on her wish list for her babyshower, so tell me if you like the sippy cup because that would be helpful :)

    thanks :)

  • try the nuby cup its great...my 7 months loves it..nuby is great..

  • We plan to, since we just bought some lol

  • I must've been lucky. My 2 younger ones just went straight to the Nuby cups with the straws in them. Though between the 2 of them they probably had a dozen actual bottles, lol.

  • That looks pretty cool! So does the liquid flow out of the nipple like a bottle or a sippy cup? You may have said it, but I don't remember :)

  • I haven't tried it lol! So I dunno! But we love it :o)

  • The nuby cups are by far the best

  • OMG where do i get me one of those. Im in New Zealand so do you no if i can get them online?? My son is 2 days older than Trip and he WILL NOT drink out of anything another than a bottle, it's driving me bonkers

  • Hey Lora, I'm not sure if you get Tommy Tippee over there, but I've found their sippy cups to be excellent! I've done a review of one :)

  • Oh cool! I'll have to look!

  • That's great!

  • what editing program do you use? looks cool.

  • my son is 8 months old, and I have tried a couple of different kinds of cups too. I bought the nuby ones, and so far those ones seem to work pretty good since the nipples on them are soft like a bottle

  • Yea, that seems to be the trick!

  • the nuby sippy cup is great that is one of the first ones that we used for our daughter the only downfall is that it leaks a lot.. if it works for you go a head but it just always leaked for me

  • Bahaha I loveee your shirt!!

We started using a sippy cup for Kayleigh around 11 months. I can't remember the name of them, but the it has a soft nipple like a bottle but it was spill proof. It doesn't have handles tho. We got it at Walmart..and they are really cheap and come in many colors too. Just a thought for future months =)

  • Hey Lora, my baby cousin who is also 10 months uses the thinkbaby transition cup! It works great for her! I voted for you guys too :) Love your vids!

  • Oh, good!! Glad she likes hers too :o)

    Thank you for your vote!!

  • Lora I will be hiding out to Walmart I am going to see if I find that Think baby cup..My little guy likes to play with the tip of his cups to sooth his gums lol lol I have the playtex one and I also have that Dr Brown one that you just showed which he drinks some because it just drips but you will need to keep an eye on him because it makes a mess..I should give those Nuby ones a try my little girl took any sippy cup oh boys lol

  • The Nubby ones look awesome too! We'll try those 2morrow and see how that goes. Good luck!

  • I bought the Nubby one and also this Nubby three in one thing that comes with three different lids it was 5.00 something thought that was a good deal. Thethink baby one they didn't have :( I wonder where they sale it. Thanks for this video the other day I was going to buy the Avent one since the bottles are great.

  • I have never seen that sippy cup, looks neat!! Glad it works for him, what a big boy he is now.

  • It's AMAZING!!

  • We started our six-month-old son on a Nuby cup. He took to it right away. Then there's another "stage" for the Nuby cups that don't have the baby handles but still have soft nipples.

Yay for finally finding a sippy cup that he likes and will drink from! I can't believe you had to try so many before he finally found one he liked!! That's definitely a story for the baby book!!! :o)

  • That is awesome !!! I wish they had that kind of transition cup when Joey was a baby. Its amazing how things can change in only 6 years.

    Love it

    PS .. GO Tripp!

  • It really is!

  • the last sippy cup his has in the video, is a good one. my mom has a daycare(in home), and is always trying to find a good sippy cup, the 1 year old loves that cup.

  • TAHNK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Ive been looking for something like that.

  • No problem :o)

  • lol my kids were the same way but i would keep them because you will need them later my 2 year old uses a regular cup now she never really went to sippy cups congrats on the tv show

  • Oh I'm keeping all of them, don't worry lol! He might use them as he gets older.

  • LOVE your videos. You are the best vlogger ever!!

  • I Love Ur Hair!!! Tell TRipp i Said Hi Lol!
