ive had the ultimate attenuator which was really nice but i thought i was going to blow my original 1970 marshall with it. i have a hot plate now. i use the hotplate when im not using the fuzz. and i think i had the amp with little attenuation and set clean for this clip.
Yeah, I'm not sure about the UA, the UA Pro works a little differently, I think...uses your speakers as the load. I haven't had any problems so far, but I don't think it gets nearly as quiet as the UA. I can't get my Peacemaker as quiet as I'd like, but it's a whole lot better. I can dig into the gain a bit more, but stillI'd like a little extra grit at times; Okko in Germany has a pretty sweet mod for the H&K Tube Factor. I think I might get one; I'll prob post a video if it sounds good.
Just a little FYI...Have you considered an attenuator so you can get the cranked tone without waking the dead? The fuzzface is nice, but the tone of that amp wide open is one of the best of any plexi type amp I've heard. I went through a few that sucked...i.e. Marshall Power Brake, but the Magus Ultimate Attenuator Pro is where its at.
i like your approach to the funky part...everyone plays it differently, but its hard for it not to sound awesome.
