mine does this i got it like the first month it came out. the scary thing is its does not fixitself when i put it horizontally!!!! I might try the cleaner thhing but i gonna bring it to play n trade because they said i might push it into an engine failure.. OMG :(
I've been using my Wii horizontally pretty much since I've gotten. I'll try to find the stand and move it to a vertical position, but as long as it's not going to crap out on me I'm not going to obsess about it too much......
This is a problem with more common with the Launch/Earlier Wii models, the metal frame in the disc drive vibrates against another piece of metal on the drive which makes the buzzing noise when the Disc spins. It's totally harmless to your system but is very annoying. It happened to me but when I tried to fix it the drive broke all together and it didn't suck the disc in, but the problem wasn't related to the noise. Luckily you can buy new drives online.
yeah i cant play ACCF anymore or pretty much any other game because i hear backround noises very clearly. Weird right? So yeah i hear this loud and clear but know what sucks? MY WII MAKE THAT NOISE 20X LOUDER :(
well i all i did was so much easier i turned it on its other side and the noise stopped lol so simple better then sending it to Nintendo or opening it u know
I think it sounds more like an electric razor. You know, Ash, you shouldn't be putting your razor in your Wii. I can't guarantee it working for ya if you do that. In fact, I think its frowned upon. ;)
The problem has nothing to do with the motor in this case. The problem is the top plastic bearing frame for the disc is touching the bearing arm when the disc is spinning. Check my account for a video to see the cause and fix. There is also another easier indirect fix I found on youtube where you just have to slacken one of the corner screws on the frame that holds the bearing arm.
well i all i did was so much easier i turned it on its other side and the noise stopped lol so simple better then sending it to Nintendo or opening it u know like lay it down were the SD slot is facing up
Ok, I'm going to explain it a bit alright? This is actually not bad..it won't break your Wii. When tiny motors, for example, a cooling fan on a PC, or, like this case, a tiny motor that spins the disc, are made and put into the system, the company (if they are smart) put an oil or (lube) on the tiny parts. This makes for a quiet, quick pace and less stress on the motor. After sometime, dust gets into the oil, and turns more solid. At some point, the oil and dust combo, can be blown away
and that means less oil (lube) on the motor parts. Now when the drive is spinning it can cause tiny parts to shift back and forth quiet quickly causing an almost engine like sound. This can be fixed by taking the Wii apart and putting oil into the drive. ( I had to do this for a PC fan and it fixed the noise right away) but it's different for a PC fan..if that dies..the pc explodes, (Not really) I doubt this would BREAK your wii over night...but over along period. Might burn out the dvd motor.
uh yea mine made that sound i sent it in they sent it back "supposidly" fixed but it still made the sound, so i sent it back and they sent me a replacement and it worked fine for a while and then it started making the same freakin sound so now there sending me another replacement, ive had bad luck with wiis
Well its okay it normal my wii used to make that noise but later on it stoped I had my wii for a yeah and a half now and nothin is wrong with it so it will be fine....
disc* and no it's not the disc being read rofl if you have ever heard a wii in silence when you insert a game you hear just like a beep then reads silently but thats VRRRRRRRRRRRR like a little gas powered toy car is in there it's fine believe me you ever hear a 360? they go awol so much too handle probably too much info on wii soon it will go away it happened to mines and it's going away (you can try one of those external cooler fans 15 bucks could be a life saver)
i have the same prob. wat i ddi waz call nintendo customer support(18002553700) and tell them the prob. they will get ur adress and other info, they will e-mail u or via mail u a shipping thinggy, put ur wii in a boxand put the lable then send it. they wii send a replacement.
Thank god ! i am going to get my wii fixed, and im going to get $100 dollors from them because it was destroying my games! examplae: my redstell game was scratched so badly from the wii that every time you play it my wii mackes this clicking sound nonstop.
MY wii makes the same fucking noise! it just started after my friend played it! can some one tell me what to do plz! it is so fucking anoying and my mom says its fine!
Yeah the fact that the sound changed with movement/direction means that it is most likely a fan or the optical drive being slowed for some reason... either it is about to die or for a fan, it is somehow dusty/underpowered...
just call 1800-255-3700 ull be good!!! thell fix it 4 free!! mine was fried buy a power surge the inside almost cought fire and they still replased it!!!
not just Nintendo's phone line but also the website, i have a Wii, i think the warrantie last a year, it hasn't even been out for a year so you'll be ok
my does too, i can't figure out or understand why.
