  • My 99 frc gets about 30-32 with the lq9 6.0 and a 270 deg. cam with .550" lift and a .112 lobe separation. and it makes about 450 hp at the flywheel... stock gears = 3.23 i think

  • the cam isn't too bad on fuel mileage. I can run a steady 70 down the hwy and get 25.6 MPG and then get an avg driving to work at about 20 MPG if I keep my foot out of it but that's hard to do most of the time, lol. I also have 3.90's in the diff so I lose alot there.

  • how bad does a cam kill fuel economy?

  • lol

  • @jcobaltss2005

    Who cares?

  • i dont just wondering if it was a major difference. i dont think it is but either way who cares. the bigger question is whether i should buy a duramax (lbz or lmm) or a cammed c5?

  • I would go for the C5, ive had nothin but bad luck with duramax, Cummins all the way for me,

And it all depends on what the specs are AND if you have intake / heads exhaust ect

Just a cam isnt that bad! but the more you add, the more you kill your mpg's

  • @jcobaltss2005 I own both hahaha!!!

  • sounds great, itd be awesome if you could rev it though

  • Love the idle. Can you post your mods and cam specs?

  • I bought the car from a dealership around IL. I am working on tracking down the owner so I can get the specs on everything he has done. It looks like it has a set of Kook's LT's and catted X with borla stingers. As for the cam or anything else internal I'm not sure of right now. I will keep you posted when I get some info.

    Thanks for the interest.
