Ohhhh, for a split-second I thought Stephen had ACTUALLY forgotten his line at 2:50. Silly me, I should've known better. Still, he got me. I'll admit it.
Hugh is really good to play really unpleasant characters. Like in House, in other A bit of Fry and Laurie sketches...
It´s hilarious when he throws the card away in the beginning. The weird thing is that I didn´t notice it the first time I watch this sketch. I must be half-blind.
such a shame there's no more such fine comedy. I enjoyed this show a lot and now don't know what to watch, nothing on today tv compares to this type of comedy!
"Have you any idea how degrading and demeaning to the human spirit people like you really are." Love that line. Used it a few times in conversations myself.
You repulsive ball of spittle!

My gosh, my ninth grade math teacher had EXACTLY the same accent and haircut and his first name was also Richard! Amazing.

Everytime Stephen Fry wears a curly wig, he looks a lot like Jeremy Clarkson. That also struck me in the bookstore sketch (balls!!).
CF1975 2 years ago 11
Exactly what I was thinking!! Fry does look like Clarkson of the 90s!!!

So showing of our culture.
I like what Fry says about Hugh.
"You're rotting in hell and you haven't the first idea about it, have you?"
That line could apply to almost everyone lol

"That was the unmistakable sound".
And 2:28 makes me laugh exceedingly.
Hugh Laurie has really caught the manners of an ego-centric interviewer perfectly perfect.
"The Emperor of Disgust"
The title sounds interesting... and heavy, I suppose.

back then it was a joke, but that's how some american comedians actually conduct interviews today (e.g. stephen colbert)

I like Johnny Vaughn, but I can't help but see some of his 'techniques' in this!

Laurie playing the host reminded me a little of letterman, lol.
SharksKid 3 years ago 24
Yeah, Letterman has his own agenda and no one else's, which makes him an entertaining comedy act but an awkward interviewer.
