Barong Dance in Batubulan, Bali

last xmas i went to a barong dance and it was difficult to understand but beautiful. could someone explain this to me?

The Barong is a large lion type creature. A battle ensues and the Barong's followers begin to attack Rangda with their daggers. The trance of the Barong`s followers is often very real and therefore there is always a priest on hand to revive the dancers with holy water.

This Barong reminds of that weird lion creature in the book of revelations who was suppose to represent one of the gospels.

The Batubulan morning show is the best of all the Bali dance shows. I just went to this same place 2 months ago and it's even better than it was last year as shown in this video. Like everything, it evolves in a constant state of change. Extraordinary.
