Does the Folding@Home WU thing stop doing what it's doing when you turn your pc off and then does it restart where it left off when you turn it back on again? Or does it just have to restart again from teh beginning?
i've been folding@home for nearly 18mths.. just one thing.. what you call 'work uploads' is actually work units.. these work units is what u work on.. theres many different types and you get sent work units depending on how fast your computer is and how much Ram you have.. so more complex work units are done by faster computers but they also get more points/work unit coz they take longer to complete.

no it uses the spare cpu cycles that would be wasted anyway. it uses a tiny amount of ram but it doesn't really affect performance that much

The trick is to just run it whenever you're not using your computer so it doesn't slow you down at all.

pretty much

There's BOINC too. BOINC can do lots of projects.

it loads when you want it, a computer doesn't run software when it's turned off.
