@JoshGoldie Phrigian Dominant my friend :), just have a quick look near the start of the vid @1:48 where he flashed the intervals IE: 1 b2, 3, ect ect, he shows phrig and phrig dom. Only difference betwen the 2 is you raise the 3rd a half step to get Phrigian dominant. I think this is where you got confused? I think you are getting confused with "SHapes" It sounds like you have learned the modes as shapes, and what he's showing here is more a run horizintaly along the neck same notes.

@JoshGoldie You are right, if he starts on the A. (5th fret Estring) then that's techincally not the phygrian dominant. Anyway, if you sstart the SAME notes he plays on the 5th fret Astring then that starts with a D and is the phygrian dominant scale.

For all you people out there that think theory is useless it is not, like say in the key of G the secon chord is Am, right? Right. If you use the ionian fingerings and start them on the second note and go up 8 notes you get the dorian mode all the same. and if you find youself needing to improvise over an Am you know what notes you can use. If you know that you will be so much further ahead of so many other guitarists.

I'm from Florida and most blacks do not speak as well as him and when I lived in New Orleans most whites didn't speak as well as him. It isn't relative to blacks per se, so much as it is relative to the folks that live in that area.
