  • Awesome. The Disco 3 does the business...

  • Is this the diseal?

  • More like, "one slippery hill". My father has a 2008 LR3. He hasn't taken it off-road yet though. He doesn't have the hear to yet.. still too new. He bought it brand new last year (2009) but it was a late 2008 model, 0 miles. Anyway, I hear they have amazing off-road capabilities. Can't wait to find out. He owned a 1999 Chevy suburban before that. And I must say, the suburban never got stuck. It was an amazing truck.

  • Australia???

  • the discovery 2 is better than the lr3

  • can someone tell me how much horsepower does this lanrover have... thanks

  • its not actually that much horsepower.....like 250 or somethin but it has like 500 torque which is the only useful bit in off roadin....great car

  • The V8 has 300bhp and 315 ft lbs. of torque, oliroolz is a complete dumbass and is incorrect. Do not post anything unless you know what you are talking about!! What a fucking retard.

  • Discovery 3 - 2.7 V6 diesel: 140kW/445Nm

    Discovery 4 - 3.0 V6 diesel: 180 kW/640 Nm

  • that's one way to really enjoy driving this car... although does anybody else hear that metallic groaning? at around 2:34 as they start to descend, try to listen closely...

  • i think its the hill descent control!

  • perfectly normal sound of the hill decent control working.

  • having 3 discovery(s) and a series 2a in the family i know how they r not the best built vehicle still i love land rovers but they r not well built at least till 1999 vehicles

  • AT LAST ONE BEING USED ....

  • does anyone know what the maximum towing weight of the detachable tow bar that comes with the LR3? would it pull 3.5 tonne or would i need a stronger one? Thanks

  • hay thare i worked for landrover and all the tow bars carries 2.5 tone as a maxamum load im sure thats ryt anyway but look in the accessories book or call up ure sealer stratstone in cupar are selling them fitted with electrics for around £750

  • Dont know about the new ones. But i hava second generation range rover. The hook is certified for 3,5 tonnes

  • Im a defender man but have driven disco3 off road a couple of times, I dont like the complicated electrics but it really is amasing how much grip the sensors give "ordinary" tires on mud and wet grass. I found that locked diffs reduce the traction available where although brake pad hungry the traction control cant be beaten. Now get a system thats simple for defender!!

  • Land Rover Disco 3 the best there is

  • ive got a land rover d3 and it dos not have any problemes and you can drive off road with road weels and there allot of electrick stuf its priddy hitech there all buttens and stuf and it remains one off the best off road cars off the world.

  • This guy's got his trailer hitch in! That's reducing his departure angle by a lot. And for the guy who stuck a lot, you probably just need more practice with the new terrain response system. It is much better than the old Discos. However, one think I like about the old ones is that they all came with locking rear differentials. On the new ones, that's an option. One you should get if you're going to do this kind of stuff. Maybe you didn't have that.

  • i got this car

  • Ultimate LR3 my ass, I had a 2006 LR3 HSE, and that thing got stuck more times than any of my 3 Disco's, which never got stuck once, I blame Ford when they took over the LR3 in build quality, fit and finish, and off-roading, My '08 Liberty TR Limited puts both to shame. I am so happy, My 1st Libert was a a sport 4x4 and never had a problem, so I went back and got the '08!

  • I had an 06' Libery Sport. I broke both upper ball-joints and the front differential. It has absolutely no ground clearance. It rode the skid plates 75% of the trail time, if It didnt get hung up on the cross member. Its trail rated, yes, but simply doesnt even compare to a Discovery, I, II or III. So I sold it and bought a Discovery 2 for myself, and my wife drives a Discovery 3.

    Sorry mate.

  • i got one V8, giving me lots of problems. i changed the engine to toyota 1 Kz. haha...i like the look only and the performance no bad. but in terms of engine, giving lots of problems. maybe i am in hot country

  • Good

  • Lets get something straight here. This is a standard Disco 3 on standard road tyres! It walks up those slopes without a problem. I offroad for sport and i can tell you many "prepped" vehicles would have struggled with that and something like an X5 would not have even made the first bit. I regularly pull my landlord out of snow and mud in his X5, but I have never once been called out for his D3

  • The land rovers are amazing. The dealers use brand new cars and immediately take them offroading. Some of their new cars are on display hanging on two wheels! I like the "walk the walk" mentality.

  • kk.lads keep ur hair on like i agree tht the old discos are the best the new ones are to high tec and more electrics to go wrong in water..also at the start of this vid he misses out the cross axle bit and nearly gets stuck when the back falls in!!!

  • TOTALLY overrated in EVERY way.The public have just been mislead by the brand name thats all.LOTS of people wouldnt touch a disco or any landy for that matter.JAP IS BEST BY FAR!!

  • jap crap is cheap and only good because it performs offroad, i own a warrior. my dad has the new disco 3 and if i had enough money id buy one without question. i think money is pressuring your views

  • when it comes to reliability i agree with you

but lr3/disco 3 is very well engineered, good transmission, good suspensions, very smart chassis... and it s a true off roader, i ve heard many ppl saying if it was built by toyota it would be definitely the best

so many british motoring companies have disappered for bad production policy and land rover may have that problem soon, since their cars are pricey and not the best built

it s a shame brittish can t make it in spite of having great ideas

  • Its not just that, Britain in general are best at making large, luxurious type vehicles LIKE the land rovers, range rovers etc of this world. However the British government is currently penalising all large cars for various reasons and in turn killing the British vehicle industry. Being British myself..it saddens me to see whats happening.

  • Nothing there any other 4x4 can do.Why is the Disco so damn ugly???

  • Obviously youve never driven a Disco...

  • Enjoyed the video..who needs mud tyres when you have a Discovery

  • Great video- with some really impressive Off Roading.

Some chunky Mud Gripr tyres would have given even more traction- although you seemed to make it through fine...

  • ahhahah are those street tires?

  • that was a nice hill at the end.

  • that kind slick tires... if you really have to drive off road, buy off road tires..

  • Range Rovers are the best vehicles made to date.

  • please note: this is a land rover discovery, range rovers are from the same company but a different car, no less than a discovery but very different.

  • just shows that land rovers are the best

  • They looked like standard road tyres. Nice work, that last shot going over the hill gave a good impression of steepness. Keep going - your LR3 can do more! ;)

  • What tires do you have fitted?

  • that was a bit boring make your vids more exciting next time

  • your an ass
