  • gay gay gay this song is gay

  • Great video and music

  • @thewelssinator hey at least it was not athearn THEY SUCK!

  • Cool track and nice train.

  • I had this in N scale by bachman but it broke :(

  • F40PH is the greatest scientific achievment known to man

  • nice trains .horrible music.. thats my all time worst track. yuch!

  • Thanks to Meth? Lolwut?

  • Yea cool trains, but the gay song has to go !

  • F40PH IS A GOD

  • F40PH was very noisy in the station because the HHP generator had to be always running at full speed in order to provide the 480volts .

  • the f40 is my favorite diesel. Thanx for posting this

  • @thomasVSstewie mine too!

  • I have a f40ph two

  • brilliant set up......change of music perhaps.

  • Bette Midler??? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  • It's a thing a beauty!

  • Why did you use that Song of any songs, what does it have to do with trains? Completly ruins the video !

  • MUSICS GAY

  • This is Proto One from I think about 1998. It's run as a conventional set up with Proto sounds. Proto controlls came on the market a bit later.

    Mike Rapp

  • if it is MTH, why are you running it with TMCC?

  • Hi,

I'd like to have a multi Level folded dogbone with O72 min track. Lower level staging area and upr level logging. One side industry and sidings while the other side passinger which would circle around the industrial area. Not much to ask for.

    Mike Rapp

  • I gave away all the track to a friend and am about to take apart the rest of the layout. I'll save the mountain, foam base and wood for a future layout when we move.

  • A reflective, sky blue curtain in the background would make the layout stand out more in the shot.

  • The FasTrack roadbed makes the layout look finished sooner, unlike the old Lionel track.

  • I now have 3 of the MTH F40PH engines (Proto 1). One set of the Amtrack Amfleet cars you see, and another set in the SEPTA roadname. Just looking for a SEPTA engine. You'll soon see videos on my site of all 8 cars pulled by an AMTRACK triple header. Should look awesome!

    Mike Rapp

  • i have a trainset similar to that except its mth and it has an amtrak genesis model no 75

  • I just won two more of the F40PH engines on EBay! Now once they show up at the door I'm going to lube all three up and make sure they have good batteries in each. Then I'm going to hook all three up on the club layout with the four passenger cars behind. I'll have to put the exaust fan on because they are great smokers. I will also run them with a huge string of freight cars. Should make for a real cool video before we start taking the club layout apart. Great way to remember it!

    Mike Rapp

  • The engine I got at an auction for about $100. The cars are a set I bought from a good friend for about $150 (new).

    Mike Rapp

  • Where did u get that???

  • I really want that train!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

  • That is Lionel Fastrack. It's a very good sturdy track. From what I hear better than the MTH version, but I never compaired. On Yahoo there is a Fastrack users group that I'm a member of. Many people just starting out have joined the group and told the members how much room they have to work with. Many of us have a track layout program we use and have designed blueprints down to the last small piece of track. (1 of 2 )

  • ( 2 of 2 ) The program comes in handy because it also prints out a shopping list for you to use to shop for prices online. I don't have this layout any more. I took it down and gave most of the track to my good friend so he could have a layout under his Christmas tree.

    Mike Rapp

  • Nice track!I wish i had that type of track :(

  • I wired the layout with a TPC300. It lets MTH engines operate without problems on TMCC.

    Mike Rapp

  • How did you operate that with TMCC?

  • Great Set-up... Horrible Song!!!

  • i agree. nice lit up amtrak cars! whats with that music?

  • I love that engine, but if it breaks and it's not worth fixing then it makes a cool paperweight!

    Mike Rapp

  • great mth product but god help you if she breaks

  • Check out my Pennslyvania Flyer video

  • This is why MTH is awesome.

  • what music is this

  • Bette Middler - Wind Beneath My Wings

    Mike Rapp

  • Nice Train, runs and sounds great. Paid $100 for the engine and never regretted it. Took down the layout. Gave most of the track to my friend Andy so he can have one. I'll buy all new Gargraves with Ross switches for my new layout when we move this summer.

    Mike Rapp

  • Cool. That's definitely a lucky find for only $100.

  • cool! nice horn too!

  • Do you have plans for an urban or country theme for the new layout?

  • I love this train. Needs a second engine and a observation car though to look just right.

    Mike Rapp

  • I have that set! Its a great set, but mine only has 3 amfleets. Yours looks good with 4 so I think I will need to buy somemore for mine now. :)

  • beautiful just beautiful

  • I have HO and N also. Each has it's place. I ripped down my HO layout to build this one for Carol. I keep the N in a large plastic case. When I want to play I set up a few

2'X4'X2" pink foam on the table, build the layout, run a few hours, then just put it back away till next time. Since I'm not tied to a track plan I have more fun building it each time.

    - Mike -

  • trains to big lmao HO scale is the best next to N scale

  • cool music, but i was waiting for you to take it to the bridge, but then i noticed the bridge was HO.

  • Nothing on this layout is HO. Look on my web site and you will see my HO layout I tore down to build this for my wife.

    Mike Rapp

  • Good job, now kill some furfags!

  • ...... Ok, I'm back! There is something called a BCR that is sold by many places. It's really a 9volt capacitor. You put the engine on the track and let it idle in neutral for one min. This charges the BCR. Most people also let it idle a min before shutting off the power. It's a 50/50 split in the train world of which to use. I had a BCR in my engine and thought it was a battery. I just ran the engine and shut it off, killing the chip. I like batteries. Replace the cover and play! Mike Rapp

  • ....... (Sorry about that)The battery looks like a regular 9volt but rechargeable batteries are what is called for. If you put a regular 9volt in and run the engine for a long time over and over, the battery will start to leak acid and ruin your engine. Just go to Radio Shack or any electronics store and get a rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride battery and a charger. I have 3 batteries and rotate them. You can also do something else, but I ran out of room again....... (next post)

  • For all asking about the battery, it's very easy. Put a towel down on the table you want to use as a bench. Turn the engine upside down and remove the screws that hold the body onto the base plate. Please put them in a safe place. One wrong move and you will be asking where to get a new screw. Trust me, it's happened to me. Flip the engine up and lift the bovy off. Careful for the strobe wires. The battery is under the circuit board inbetween the trucks. (ran out of room... )

  • The best thing you can do is let the engine idle a min or two before running and when ready to stop running. It gives the battery enough power to make sure the chip gets the info stored in it from the program it's running. Blown chips are really an incomplete storage of pgm info that prevents start up again.

    Mike Rapp

  • just almost plue the plate again because of the batery

  • o by the way im also known as Trainmaster062thats why i was asking

  • o also thanks i would have been pissed if i blow another plate

  • how do u change the battery in the engin just almost lost mine again?

  • MTH was great with mine. Really suprised me. 2 weeks and it was working with the new one. I screwed up the old one two by not checking the battery first. Now I put a sticker on the bottom when I charged it last. Most times I just charge an extra one and install it before I play if it's over 6 months. Love this engine. Don't want to loose it again! Great smoke and horn too!

    Mike

  • how do u check the battery?

  • First you should not use a battery too old. I'd just charge it in a charger made for rechargeable batteries, check the voltage with a meter the next day and wait a month, then check it again. If there is a noticeable drop in voltage in a month, replace it. On a full charge it should last a year without using the engine, so I recharge it after 6 months to be sure. A weak battery shorts the chip and then the chip needs to be replaced.

    Mike Rapp

  • Where is the battery?

  • it sucks when the chip blows dosint it

i had to what like 3 years to get mine fixed

  • Mine did not work, but MTH sent me a new chip to fix it free!

    Mike

  • OMG I have that very set from MTH, and mine doesn't work :(

  • The F40PH is my hero

  • F40PH FTW

  • HAH! It knew it was using QSI Magnum!

  • dude whts the name of the song?(reply)

  • Bette Middler - Wind Beneath My Wings

  • God i love fast track it is beter than the other tracks!!!!!

  • @heyeveryoneimcool FUCK YEAH!

  • Looks like something I'd use on my HO, but I don't think it's worth that kind of money for this. Thanks for the info though.

    Mike Rapp

  • Okay, that is not an Amtrak horn, but I do reccomend to you the decoder (p5) from Phoenix Sound. Perfect for any Amtrak loco.

  • i bought a Bnsf Dash-9 for 027 and the chip melted i had to pay a lot of money to get it fixed...beautiful details though

  • Seems the early Proto 1's were a QSI problem and they have a new chip to replace the old one when it dies. I got both protos at auction for under $100.00 each. My other one is in the video I named "El Diablo" (my nickname for the engine cause it's possessed). You can see tons of photos on my web site at SkyandTrains. com. Mike Rapp

  • by possessed you mean????

  • It likes to run away full speed, sounding it's horn like crazy and not obey commands under TMCC without the TPC #300 installed. That's why it acts possessed.

    Mike Rapp

  • proto 1?

  • Yes, I also have a FEC BL-2 Proto 1. This Amtrack and the cars are my favorite train. I want to get a dummy and 2 more cars for it. I just cant run it on ant other track cause the cars need the wide turns. Still is cool though. I run it at the club and it looks cool there. Mike Rapp
