  • @solaris5655 well said

  • LKY was a true social activist. It's a pity we only see the opposition having so much ownership right now

  • Well said!!

  • No Doubt at all he has done a lot for this country...

But do we need to be grateful to him?

I DONT THINK so, cos whatever he has done for us, he has more than taken them back for himself and his family, with plenty and plenty of intererst...

It may or may not be true that without LKY, there may be no Singapore...

But the definite and undeniable truth is that without Singapore and us SINGAPOREANS, there would be no LKY...

  • @dodolady who are you grateful to? yourself?

  • Whether or not one likes it and agrees with the positions espoused, that is called *conviction*. Would that we could see more of that in general nowadays ... that fire-in-the-belly passion that once brought great men and women to the service of their nation.

  • He is a great man but the party he painstakingly built is now completely out of control and had lost their motive and as a result... is now nothing but a money making machine- in the eyes of singaporeans...

  • As much as im pro-opposition during GA 2011. We cant deny the fact that my success was due to this man.

I really respect him after watching this. Any politician making a speech on controlling who are neighbours are would realy kena from us...Only LKY can do this..

  • LKY is the BEST leader in the world. The results speak for themselves. How he can galvanize a country and bring together strong and intelligent people to achieve first world nation in a third world region. Criticize him all you can ...... words are cheap. Posts are anonymous. The real results are SEEN.

  • his son is a "fail" as PM.

  • for once i have soo much respect for u n willing to exchange my life for urs..bt tat was all in de pasttt..a new world..new problems..needs new solutions..equals to new order..wat goes up muz come down..nothing las 4ever..

  • bet he could shoot anti tank missiles from his arm too

    GO "Ironman" Lee woooot!

  • Ungrateful*

  • The foolish new generation are ingrateful. Lky is the one who invested alot of money to invent new water.

  • @Porkincarnate 神经病

  • Uncle, if you feel so strongly about Singapore, then please give us the hard truth on why Tin PL is in Parliament?

  • he's changed....

  • Wow, so grateful of u, LKY :(

  • hi where did you get all his speeches! he is one of my idols! i wanna like see all his speeches

  • He is my hero

  • Did the last line say 'as long as I'm in charge nobody's going to knock it down'?

    ARMY! KNOCK IT DOWN!

  • @nashstruck Billions lost are published fact. Net net still big loss. If billions made, published it then! Eg how can anyone lose 400 million A$ on a childcare center but Temasek did it! How much in the reserves, nobody knows. LHL related to LKY, etc. Just go online and find out more.

  • @JansenCassidy u speak with no evidence. ure a nonsense man. they have made billions too. there is no one family rule. u find a better man than LSL to be PM then talk.

  • well spoken Majullah Singapura long live LKY

  • I love you LKY. Forever and my son my son son and my son son son will love you and PAP.

  • he was a great man who built my country... was... but today, his party is reduced to nothing but a money making machine....

i used to love lky, but they are a different party now the pap...

  • @liverpoolz4eva money making for our people. Understand the situation and how politics changes with time. Take example USA. Printing billions of dollars every year to distribute to its people because they were all out of jobs. Their currency weakened. Investors flee from their country. Lesser job opportunities. Demand for jobs over supply. We on the other hand, want to create job opportunities for our people. More investors coming over, more jobs supply over demand. Wages increase. economy grows

  • @yxinz clearly unaware of what is happening on the ground. apathy broods limitations to solutions.

  • @liverpoolz4eva He's the hero this country deserves, but not the one it needs right now...So we'll scorn him, cos' he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful Godfather. A Minister Mentor.

  • the kind version of hilter, stalin, mao n Kim Il-sung, a dictator n a right wing ideology thinker which support meritocracy n racist, he is a nazi bt in a tone down version, bt to me nazi bt in a tone down version or not r still nazi, it bad n i'm sure that if we support nazi in singapore we will ruin singapore.

  • @sonnylow86 I dont see any hitler or similar person in LKY. Who is the nazi in singapore? Who have ruined it? Which part? Anyway, I watch many many of opposition speech, I wish I can choose the opposition, but they always leave me a big question mark.

  • @bluekickindonkey well LKY is a tone down version of hilter, stalin, mao n Kim Il-sung that y u don c dont see any hitler or similar person in LKY, the lee family n party r the nazi in singapore, do more research on political ideologies n c wat the lee had done den u will noe.

  • @sonnylow86 would u exchange prosperity, stability and security for political freedom?

  • @timothylhm if u say prosperity in s'pore as 4 the rich it veri rich bt as 4 the poor it oso veri poor it just that the rich nv really saw the true poor in s'pore,

  • @timothylhm as 4 stability the racist problem in singapore r still they it not the malay fault it the Lee fault he is indeed racist look at urself in the navy, air force n commando does all this unit got malay? n he oso gt not rite to say thing on other peolpe religion oso i'm sure that if lee still control the singapore in such a way s'pore sec racial riots will start soon.

  • @timothylhm as 4 security 4 political freedom i cn only say s'pore nowday r more 2 monarchy, right wing n nazi den democracy look at urself the old lee past the Throne to the young lee there no more democracy in s'pore n there r too much security but yet lack of political freedom if we talk abt political freedom y there is alot of opposition party been sue until bankruptcy by da goverment, we should not b afraid of our government, Government should b afraid of we all cuz they our civil servant.

  • @sonnylow86 sorry, i would like to give a constructive reply, but your grammar and lack of punctuation is rendering it impossible to do so.

    But then again,

If you're drawing parallels between monarchy, right wing ideologies, nazism and the singaporean government, I think you are very misinformed.

Anyway you obviously didn't comprehend that my previous question was rhetorical. Alright, I guess this exchange ends here. Try living in another country, get first hand experience before you complain.

  • @timothylhm well i'm sori 4 my english, n i'm a singaporeean too i oso wanna try to make s'pore a better place 4 singaporean 2 stay, as wat u say i was very misinformed between monarchy, right wing ideologies, nazism and da singaporean government bt look urself on da goverment of singapore which part they don look like monarchy, right wing ideologies, nazism example monarchy (da old lee past the Throne to da young lee), right wing ideologies (meritocracy), nazism (racist toward malay).

  • @sonnylow86 (continued from previous post) Have you actually lived in another country and witnessed another political situation first hand? Correct me if you have.

Then again, if you have free speech coupled with social and economic unrest you might wish the situation to revert to the former again.

LKY might have used suppressive tactics at eliminating his opponents. But what politcian allows his opponent to thrive?

  • @timothylhm well may not lived in another country b4, bt i have friend n relative stay oversea n i noe some other country people live in their own country happily not because of money, few year back i myself oso a lee supporter until 1 day i heard of the badside of the lee through alot the non-mainstream media n all this few year i had been watch wat had he done n compare his political ideologies wif other i only cn say s'pore political party all r not perfect bt the worst 1 is the lee party.

  • @timothylhm his like ferdinand marcos in Philippines, free speech is not riot n b4 lee control s'pore that time is alot of riot not free speech, ya LKY might have used suppressive tactics at eliminating his opponents that y i say his like hilter monarchy, right wing ideologies, nazism if we still wanna build a democratic society den both ruling party n oppsition part must fight in a democracy way a true democracy way not a half F**K democracy way. u get 1 i mean.

  • All in all when it comes down to the basics, "economic progress, healthcare, safety & stability, education." LKY has done more than an excellent job of.

You arguments are obviously very shallow that focus on the superficial bad aspects and ignore the obvious benefits that the country takes for granted. No political party is perfect. We just have to OBJECTIVELY weigh their misdeeds against their contributions. Going by this condition, in my opinion and many others', the PAP deserves to lead.

  • @timothylhm well there is economic progress bt there is legalize corruption that y alot people cnt benefit it, healthcare, alot of singaporean say cn die cnt sick cuz it too expensive n luxury to get sick, as 4 safety too much safety until not freedom, as 4 stability racial problem r still tension, education r veri conservative look wat lee had done, all this thing the lee supporter, himself n the rich people will not care n will not noe if PAP continue to lead s'pore will from bad to worst...!

  • @timothylhm Yes, you are right. But the typical Singaporean on the street have a misbelief that he is the only one that build Singapore. I beg to differ, it WAS his fellow PAP old guards PLUS him to make it what Singapore is today. HOWEVER, past glories do not OVERWRTIE current misdeeds. The Xtre lax policy if immigration laws, failed venture of Sichuan, Speculation of HDB prices are NOT superficial mistakes in my eyes. Have a nice day.

  • @timothylhm well i nv say we must have the same high level of income bt we cn shorten the gap of rich n poor so that no 1 is veri rich n no 1 is veri poor n yet everyone still cn earn money to do this we must stop legalize corruption.

  • @timothylhm well mayb i cnt blame u cuz u n most of da lee support is brainwash by da mainstream media n da lee family itself. well wish u gd luck, i gonna say 1 thing i love this country n i oso don hate lee bt i just hate da thing that he done. n there is nothing wrong to complain cuz true democracy allow people to complain, voice out, free speech n PEACEFUL protest, if we can't do all this thing y we build a democratic society, so we oso don need 2 say our Singapore National Pledge already

  • Thank God for you MM Lee.

    Long live LKY!

  • TYRANT.

  • @MichaelwWthstand, I doubt you have even 1/100 of his intelligence. So who's the real stupid asshole here? Oh gosh...still need to spell it out for u???

  • He is good.... seriously when he is the leader i think everyone is still ok. it was when the baton was passed on to his son when Singapore saw a KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL..... thats where all hell break loose

  • If you don't like it here in Singapore, go else where...really. Why stay here and use all kinds of languages?

  • Stop being a stupid asshole give way to real democracy. Stop being so greedy and arrogant. You spend your whole life ruining Singapore you fuck stupid ass hole.

  • I like Mr lee kuan yew but not his son

  • Even though I am not a fan of Mr. Lee But let's be fair and call a spade a spade. Mr Lee is very intelligent, shrewd, realistic, determined, flexible and a great orator. No wonder Singapore is so successful.

  • Volgens mij klopt de NL vertaling niet. "having iron in him" is NIET "met ijzeren hand". Nee, het betekent "met ijzeren wil".

  • Love him or hate him , things in Singapore works , toilet that flushes , water that runs when the tap is turned on , life cannot be perfect and 8 out of 10 ain't too bad :)

  • i love LKY - Singapore rocks!!!

  • Salute!

  • very charismatic

  • @MrFanatical Yes, he's someone that I look up to. A great man~

  • Is he a big fan of Bruce Lee ? I see some similarities in the way they both talk and mannerism.

  • @slygom For a start, they share the same surname!

  • @slygom lol, so true!

  • LKY + SG= "UTOPIA"

  • long live lky

  • long live LKY
