305's aren't that bad I had one in my 85 Z28 camaro and I got i into the low 13's with out a whole lot of work. One guy had one lifting the tires off the ground at the track. just depends on what you got done. but yeah for the money a 350 is better.

And I say again from the LOOKS of it thats my guess from 86-90. Its possible that he changed the dash out since everything else is. but me personally I like old school 82-85 dash and wouldn't change it out. I use to have an 82, 86, 91, 03. Just give me the VIN.

82-85 had the round guages. 86-91 had that set up in the vid w/ the L shaped speedo and fuel (depending if you had a tach) 92-93 had the same dash only the speedo and fuel guages are rounded instead of an L shape. By looking at the gril the truck is prolly a 86-89

yep, gotta 350 in my s10 & was worried that I would have 2 cut the hood or go w/ a scoop but the large air cleaner just cleared w/o modifying any of the structural sheetmetal underneath. It worked out luckily cuz I wanted my truck 2 look somewhat stock 4 the "sleeper" look. gotta tell u tho, when I roll up next to sumbody, It don't matter, my truk rumbles so loud w/ that 3" dual exhaust(maqnaflows w/no cats), they r intimidated.

Yeah, the motor will fit, but the tranny wouldnt hold up. I have a TH350 (Turbo 350) hooked up to mine. The swap isn't that hard, but is frusterating at time. s10v8 dot com has a wealth of information and knowledgeable people on the forums.

why bother swapping in a newer dash? actualy you are fibbing, that master cylinder is too new to be an 82, i had an 82 and the master cylinder was cast iron, not aluminum and plastic.
They old dash was cracked to hell and I had this dash in another truck. It was a perfect fit and an easy swap (minus some wiring gremlins). It's an 82.
your right, thats not an 82, its an 86 or 87. he may have it registered and tagged as an 82, like i have my 89, with an 82 ownership and tag, that gets you around emission testing.
