But let me quote "You can substitute baking powder in place of baking soda (you'll need more baking powder and it may affect the taste), but you can't use baking soda when a recipe calls for baking powder." But yes, you can use baking baking powder in this case..

This beans paste (An or Anko) is stewed Azuki beans (red beans) with sugar. Maybe you could use Rajma in place of it. Also it has variation of stewed with sugar and puree in other beans. For example, flower beans (white), edamame, greenpea, mung beans. Other, there are sweet potato, sesame, nuts and so on. I feel anything sweet paste (haven't acidity and gooey) is okay.

Hi, I cooked these yesterday and they were great. The first time I cooked this recipe, the pancakes did not come out right because of the measurements in grams. After converting this to cups and TB, it was a success. Allow me to share it with you: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup soft sugar, 1/2 tes baking soda dissolved in 3 TB water, 1 TB honey (I used maple syrup also), and last bust not least 1 cup of cake flour. Thank you

My ex girfriend used to make Doryaki with strawberry jam and a very thin layer of nesquik chocolate sauce on the inside of the pancake. She was Japanese, and she said it made the Doryaki taste better. Just thought I'd share this with everyone, if you want to try something different... and a lot better tasting. Albeit, I do enjoy the taste of normal Doryaki as well :)
