Michael (when he was alive) and now his estate own the rights to his music. Television stations or programs being broadcast cannot merely just play his music. They need permission to do so and that costs a lot of money!

@amasoud I think they have to use a band and singers provided by the show and not the original materials because of copyright laws.

@amasoud they use the band for 2 main reasons:

1. the original music is too slow to dance to on liev stage (MJ himself uses faster versions when performing live)

2. Using original versions of the music brings a lot of problems with copyright holders and payments. Therefor a band is more practical.

You had better dances in part 1. The only good dances that you had in this one was Mario and Karina (dancing to Bad), and Cristian and Cheryl (dancing to Beat It). And you forgot about Monique and Louis dancing to ABC.

Actually I didn't forget. I wanted to focus on just Micheal Jackson. I know Michael was part of the group but this was actually a tribute to Michael Jackson and him being a solo artist.
