Ralph Lauren wasn't really that conservative in the 90s though. Some of it was, some of it wasn't. Polo Sport and Polo Jeans Company definitely were not conservative factions of the core label. What Polo offered then was a conservative approach on the trends. These days Polo is back to where it was in the eighties, just with Purple Label, and the huge, over sized logo on some stuff.
I feel just blaze. I got a few polo's, you can use them for years after because there timeless they will always be in fashion and the quality of REAL RL shit is amazing lasts long
@king107ification he produced saigons entire album..but most recently he produced Marsha Ambrosius recent hit "Far Away"...I think he diversified his sound more to have more appeal...but Just is still about his biz
@king107ification most of the producers from that era have evolved. Some do scores for movies. Some do movie soundtracks. Some host radio programs. Since the industry has no need for those that contributed to hip-hop in the 90s they evolved. They are actually in a better place now, longevity, than they were at that time. Mainstream hip-hop is all about kids now, teenagers, 20 something, unfortunately.
I still got my $1300 (price tag still attached to zipper) Iceberg History leather jacket with Speedy Gonzales on the back (Wanted For Speeding) that I literally only wore IT 3 times. Got the original Iceberg hanger and everything. Bought in 2000 and kept it wrapped in original Davis for Men purchasing since 2001. Anybody with some SERIOUS PAPER that want to buy from me hit me up for a mad discount. Its a XXL made in Italy, so really thats a XL in the U.S.
The throwback jersey era was crazy!! Almost everyone had one. I always thought that was some kind of east coast but later I saw people down here in Texas rock that. You couldn't turn around and not see people with an old school Nuggets or Sixers throwback.
Ice Berg was popular when I was a freshmen in High School and I thought that it was gonna die down in about two years and it was too expensive. I never had a throwback Mitchell & Ness Jersey and I actually wanted them, but I could never find one in a 44 (i use to wear my jerseys big, but M&Ns were too big and I was'nt a big guy). I just stuck with my swingmans and a few authentics. I never had a Avirex Leather either and I'm glad I did'nt in the long run.
@soulchildsacomin Remember When Sheek Said That Line: "SHOULD'VE SPENT IT ON SOME GUNS INSTEAD OF ICEBERG PANTS" On We Are The Streets, Then The Lox Did An AD For Iceberg The Next Month. LMAO.
What Type of Icebergs were they advertising. Remember, he said "pants." One other thing back in day that I'm know ppl probally regret on rockin were gucci, or other custom made nike air force 1s and jordans. The custom made alternate colors (either unwashed paints or patent leather) were cool, but using gucci fabric, spongebob or seasme street sheets to custom design kicks was too much. I'm glad I only did paint and snake skins (on a pair of white AF 1s - lol).
Kanye West, Common, Andre 3000, and Mos Def are what we have to thank for making hip-hop fashion more grown up. Hip Hop fashion has'nt been that savy since the days of Big Daddy Kane and Dana Dane.
@sounddepth Nah you got the wrong nigga Queens allday. But I'm a big sports fan love all jerseys.Ppl shoulda rocked throwbacks for the love of the player not for a trend.
@Bess2k2 That can also b said about alot of things... For instance, sagin tight jeans (Cowboy Trend)!!! If u like tight jeans or air between ya ass cheeks then by all means do u... lol! Some things shouldn't b a trend or even a fashion thought! But after thinking about what u said about throwbacks... u got a point!
I do see skinny jeans dying down a bit, but Slim Straight Jeans have been popular since 2006 (and if you're grown and slim, then this is what you should be rockin cause that trend wont die). I had jumped on the bright colored jeans band wagon myself, but thats over as well as the fashion. Fitted shirts, cardigans, and sweaters will never grow old from H&M to Uncle Ralph.
Thats true. The only throwback jerseys I would love to get for collection (maybe not to wear) are Dr Jay, Magic Johnson, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Earl Lloyd, Chuck Cooper, Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton, and Michael Jordan. Those are the athletes I admire the most (much respect to the pioneers). Too bad they never made M&N jerseys for the last 4 (well, by the time M&N got the license to manufacture Jordan throwbacks, throwbacks were already went out of fashion).
And Polo will get played out again in a year and a 1/2...And it'll get its turn again in 10 years. That's how it goes.
Throwbacks are slowly on their way back.
